I love that innovative case design and how the bracelet integrates to the case. When this bracelet is compatible to the recent DRZ 02, it's actually another ingenious move by Sergio. Yet the whole watch is easily recognisable as a Direnzo. The running second actually reminds me more of a hydrogen atom than a wandering star...

Gah I had kind of written off the green and was thinking the black would be my choice - for whatever reason, I don't have many black watches, and although the Direnzo blue is beautiful, I have a ton of blue watches. Before this video, that is. This green is stunning. What to do, what to do....

Meanwhile, I was pretty much set on just the green, but the black is really growing on me too 😂 I've already been working on footage for the full review, which will hopefully help with the decision. I've been capturing it in a variety of lighting conditions to better show the range. Cheers
I too have a lot of blue! But this is a special blue. That is my choice because Direnzo makes great blue dialed watches! Well other colors too like the orange one. I have the green og 02 it is beautiful.
This release is making me think. I completely agree it is still ubdeniably a Direnzo beyond any shadow of a doubt, and yet realky quite different. I would have loved to see it on the leather, which on this one just might look even better. Not sure, but it may. I'll say thay if this green colour would have been available on the Drz02r I'd probably have done that. It could even be a bit mire saturated jf you ask me. But I feel ocnflicted about this one. I'm not a big fan of a lumed disc as I'd rather keep lume more modest on most watches. I'm not a big fan of the red dot either (and especially not the crown). I think a dark eggyolk yellow might have been a smarter look, though appreciate Direnzo has a connection with red. Handwound hasn't my preference and this model doesnt seem to have lost any thickness in making it handwound, which is a real pity as that's the real advantage of handwound movements. I'm in doubt about the side case. If anything I do see traits of automotive design in the side case, which is suitable and the curved sheen of the case top combines well, but the vertical rise is tall and the recessed bead blasting (?) while nicely executed is arguably not as effective as the concavity on the drz02r was. In fact, I wonder if a similar polished cutaway (undercut, like the air inlet of a car) on the side as for the lugs might not have been a more elegant, slimming solution. I do get that this woudl have been similar to the DRZ02r, but I think it would have suited and possibly lightened the visual mass a little. Ultimately, I can see the drz06 morphing into a very interesting dressier watch as well, with only few adjustments (perhaps applied indices), but knowing the brand a little I think that Sergio will stick to his guns and in fact, he is right. All I've said here are details and preferences which are simply idiosyncratic, and still this is one heck of a watch! How often can that be said? And moreover it has the family face and the visual power to stand on its own. It's a job well done. The main colours are great and it's highly attractive. The cutaway lugs with polish I find a great invention! The sandwiched lume circle is likely to create a visually striking conjunction with the wandering seconds disc. And last but not least, that handset is very handsome too and I'd welcome as a variation on the Direnzo identity in the future. Sergio is highly talented, as many before remarked.

Kudos to Direnzo...I received the e-mail, yesterday. I am not fond of financing a pre-sale, order in February, delivery a few months later, but I might make an exception with this watch. They are doing great work and are creative.
Understandable but, for consideration, fully advanced financing can be challenging for a growing brand. Sergio has an excellent track record of meeting/exceeding delivery expectations and stands behind his watches. They're well worth the wait and these pre-order arrangements help bring the creation to life 🥂
I think it's a cool watch, and congrats on getting the colorway you were hoping for 👍. Personally I don't mind a butterfly clasp on a casual style watch. If there's half-links (as there are on this bracelet), then count me in. I also appreciate the choice of a hand-wound movement for it -- "Elaboré" of course, to take advantage of the rotor's absence.
That's my feeling with butterfly clasps too. On a watch like this one, they really fit the design and the half links (usually) get the fit close enough. I'm looking forward to seeing the decorated movement to complete the look. Cheers
Thanks for another good video, Jonathan. I know they are two completely different design languages, but this watch with the green dial gives me a heavy Seiko Prospex Captain Willard vibe. It's not only the shared green colour, but something about the impression of dial and case. Both give off a taut sense of urgency and silent stoicism only a tool/combat watch can give. I sent you a mail to your YT account because I need your feedback on Zelos, and you've become the foremost authority on YT in regards to that brand 🙂 Btw, that red dot on the crown. Are you able to ascertain whether it is plastic or ceramic?

I believe the crown dot on this one is just a complimentary red (enamel?) paint. I'll check it out and get back to you in a bit. Just getting home from meetings all day. Cheers
The White Mondial is one of my favorites, so I'll never turn that down. I'm glad to see things mixed up though, with an all new green, long awaited (by many) return of the teal/blue and a variation of a timeless black. Regarding gold, interestingly, this green picks of goldish hues and may scratch your itch.
Best of luck snagging one! You should be in good shape if ordered right at launch. They're usually now super limited/immediate sellouts like some brand launches. Cheers
In my opinion, definitely not too small at all. Plenty of presence, especially with the somewhat square case contours. If you haven't already seen it, I recommend the full review (now live). I show much better footage, including wrist rolls, comparisons, etc.

Model very similar to 02r. Don't like it. Poor colors . Strange and gimmicky case on the sides. Already got 02r much better than this one
