- Robot vacuums are getting smarter and more skillful. While it’s kinda scary if the robots in question are like those animatronic dogs from Boston Dynamics… if they have no legs and they’re cleaning your house… that’s okay. And benevolent bot is what I’m expecting with the Roborock Q Revo, Roborock’s brand new, hot off the press robot floor cleaner.

Roborock recently sent me one of these new robots ahead of its launch, and is also offering to give one to one of my readers.
In this review I will share what’s new about this bot, and what makes it different from other Roborock devices, I’ll test out its key features to see if they deliver the goods, I’ll run it through some cleaning tests and then I’ll wrap things up by sharing whether or not I think this would be a good investment for you.
(To see all of the company’s products, check out the Roborock US Official Site.)
What is the Roborock Q Revo?
The Roborock Q Revo is a floor cleaning bot that can both vacuum and mop floors and take care of the maintenence. Unlike some other bots, this one uses a dual spinning mopping pads instead of a vibrating flat pad to mop the floors, and that’s one of its key differentiators.
The device comes with a multifunctional dock that can carry out tasks like emptying the dustbin, and washing and drying the mops with warm air to prevent mildewing.
The maintenance features make it an attractive option for people who would not only prefer not to clean their homes or offices fully by themselves, they want to skip 90% of the maintenance too.
The Q Revo seems to be positioned as a mid to high level floor bot that gives you about 80-90% of the features of some other bots in the Roborock family, but without the high price tags of bots like the S8 Pro Ultra and S7 Max V Ultra.
What’s missing?
If you take a look at Roborock’s comparison chart, you’ll see that the Q Revo is really only missing two things one compared to those other bots I mentioned. Those two things are high speed sonic mopping, and automatic brush lifting. I may be jumping the gun here, but given the money you’ll save on different versions of Roborock bots, this might not be worth the extra spend anyway.
Speaking of carpet, this bot has a substantial 5500pa of suction power which is on the higher end for floor bots, and only just a smidge under the Roborock S8’s 6,000pa.
Testing: how well does it clean?
I run every single robot vacuum and mopping device that I get through exactly the same tests. I spill things like flour oatmeal rice and crackers on both carpet and hard floors to see how well it vacuums. For the mopping I will spill small amounts of liquid and let some of those dry, to create dried on stains.
Vacuum Testing
The vacuum worked like a dream. It was easily able to vacuum up all of my dedicated spills, and did a particularly great job getting all of the flour from carpet fibers, which can be a tough task for a robot vacuum.
It’s possible to dial the section up or down depending on how dirty or dusty your house is. This also adjusts the noise level so if you are working during the day for example you can run the vacuum on low and still get a clean in.
Mopping Tests
The Roborock Q Revo has adjustable water flow for the mopping, so you can get a more thorough clean ort protect wood floors by using les water.
The mop also worked really well easily wiping up small drips and spills, with the spinning scrub brushes able to scour off all but the most stubborn dried on stains, getting about 98% of the floor clean.
Overall review: Robotrock Q Revo
Overall, Roborock has created a solid floor cleaning bot that shaves hundreds of dollars off the price of its premium bots, yet gives you almost all the same features.
It’s easy to set up easy to use, and super simple to schedule. It cleans extremely well on both carpet and hard floors and does a great job both vacuuming and mopping. I also think that design is quite nice and makes it look more like a device you don’t need to hide under a table or in a closet.
So what are the downsides? Is this one I’m really having a hard time finding major negatives. While I guess some other robots have dual vacuum rollers, this one doesn’t seem to suffer from having just a single one. And being without a sonic high-speed mop is not a problem, because that technology has been replaced with dual spinning mopping pads.
Roborock Q Revo sells for about $899US/$1200CAD and you can get it from Roborock or Amazon. - Věda a technologie
This is basically a s8 ultra without 2 rollers and a better mopping system. It's half the price yet hardly any other reviewers are showing how good of a deal this is. Truly a gem
Well put!
Erin, thanks for the great review. You just fortified my decision in purchasing the Roborock Q Revo. I purchased it from Amazon for $699 two days ago during Prime days. Thanks again.
Glad it was helpful!
I really love your reviews even if sometimes i dont like the products...lol. Thank you so much!
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching!
I was waiting for you to review that one. Thank you.
No problem 👍
Still the best robo vacuum cleaner reviews in the business. But no puns?
Hahaha. I don’t wanna overdo it…😂🤣
Thank you.
I am on a 2nd unit now after waiting a month for warranty from the first (which I only had a couple days) and it doesn't pull clean water from the dock tank. There is some serious issues with QC of these if I get two lemons in a row, at this price, that's ridiculous
I am partial to my ECOVAC X1 Omni. I like to have the vacuuming and washing as two separate tasks. 😊
Glad to hear it works well for you!
@@ErinLawrenceTVYou can’t just have it vacuum without mopping or via verse?
Great video! Thanks!
Glad you liked it!
Looks same as dreame l10s ultra
How does it handle when it’s approaching a rug where only part of the robot would be over the rug (for example where only the right side would be on the rug)?
Great review as usual, which I totally agree with. I upgraded from the S6MaxV and have no regrets! The performance of the Q Revo more than matches or even exceeds S6MaxV. This is a solid product from Roborock. 1 question I have is whether the app will send a notification when the dust bag is full or will I need to monitor it and change the bag when it’s full?
Good question! I will have to look into that. That would be a nice feature, wouldn’t it?
@@ErinLawrenceTVOther company owns patent rights to dustbin full indicator. That's why Roborock doesn't have.
Maybe i missed it, but does it has a mop tilt?
the robot has a water tank like on the Roborock s7? because we do not see any container
Does it coean the borders of the room?
Community, how does the Q-revo perform on carpets? I am thinking to purchase a one for regular cleaning maintenance that I’d run every 3-4 days (followed by an actual proper cleaning with my regular vacuum and tools every 2 weeks). I have no pets nor kids, so I am talking here about regular amount of debris on said carpet 😊. Thank you in advance for your answer.
Thank you for the review. It has major pros. Does it avoid pets' incidents as some other robots do?
Thanks for watching! Not specifically no.
nice review. I noticed that you put the vacuum dock at the corner of the room. did you encounter issues with it?
A product which has this much declaration doesn't give any warranty in UAE . AD himself clarified this .
Great review Erin! Very informative, thanks.
You are so welcome!
Thank you for this excellent review! I'm now heavily leaning towards this model vs the S7MaxV or Q7Max.
Question for you - how does one empty the dirty water section? What's that experience like and how often does it need to be emptied?
Have you had the dock get clogged at all when emptying?
I did on the first day. But I removed the vacuum bag and put it back in and everything seems fine now. I chalk it up to an overly enthusiastic installation in the factory.
I want to know how this compares to the Deebot T20. Deebot uses hot water to clean the mop pads and since it doesn’t have an onboard water tank it goes back and cleans and wets the pads with hot water during mopping like a normal person would with a normal mop…. But is that better?
Also would an onboard water tank, like the Q Revo has, ever develop mold or mildew and if so how would you clean or disinfect it?
These are questions I have and I want to make a decision on Prime say which is tomorrow…. Tough call…I’m partial to Roborock and their app is best in the industry, but the T20 uses hot water to clean the pads and lifts the pads higher than the Q Revo when not mopping.
I had some early struggles with my T20 Omni, but after a few firmware updates it’s been excellent. Having no experience with the Q Revo I can’t offer much insight on how it works however, if the reviews are to believed it’s definitely a better value than the T20. The one thing I would say is the hot water washing will theoretically lead to a better mop. Warm water will do. Better job of pulling the oils and greases out of the pads meaning the bot will go out with cleaner pads and able to absorb more oils and greases off the floor. The one thing I will say about the T20 is the floors feel fantastic after the mop has been over it.
Just my .02, but i feel at this price the Roborock Q Revo is the one to beat.
It's one to watch for sure.
