- đđ» Hey! Welcome to my KharmaKast with Elizabeth Filips! đš
A 3rd year medical student at King's College London, a talented artist and someone who has recently been thrust into the world of youtube and social media. Her editing style is unique and her soothing voice has me hooked. She is also an absolute productivity machine which always wins brownie points in my books! đȘ
We talk about all things ranging from toxic productivity, what it's like to be vulnerable and put yourself out there on the internet, gaining popularity online so quickly, and the importance of having hobbies to help you disconnect from the hustle and bustle of everyday life đđšđ©âđ»

Hahahahđđ
Ahahaha glad you noticed đ
OMG liz u did it so gladđ€©đ€©đ
Elizabeth saying working continuously doesn't feel like overworking, rather feels normal and fun, is everything. â€ïž
Nasir, you were blushing!
You shouldâve seen the one with Rachael.
those last words by elizabeth brought me to tears, when she talked about how she spent 3 years getting the money for medical school. as someone who wants to study medicine but has been struggling because of different reasons (mainly financial and national) that advice gave me so much courage knowing that i'm right not to give up.
"When somebody is doing lots of different things... I want to know how they balance their time" - says guy doing 2655735 things and owning them. đđŸ
ahahaha my guy đȘđ»
Thanks for doing this đđđđ
Iâve been so excited to listen to another podcast episode!!đ
This is absolutely joy watching your podcasts
I love hearing how someone gets to organise their life and gets productive (and having a minimalistic life) This is the reason why I love you guys and Ali and Thomas.
Great to hear you both together
Omg finally! Been waiting for a new episode since foreverrrrrr
Thank you Nasir for introducing us to all these study youtubers! So motivating!
Oh wow! I saw her videos 2 days ago on YT and now she's a guest in Kharmakast! Amazing â€ïž
Great chat!
And I also wanted to say that since we watch Your and Elizabeth's content we find you interesting and when you find someone interesting its natural to want to know some personal things about them so thats why we enjoy Q&As and that kind of videos :)
Was not expecting this one, but itâs my favourite so far!!!! Elizabeth has such a great personality.
Enjoyed this a lot! đ On the topic of toxic productivity I just wanted to say that I liked your clarification on the fact that this is just how *you personally* live your lives and what you personally *enjoy* doing. I believe one of the main issues is that the portrayal of med students/study youtubers in general tend to be very one-sided and leaning towards extremely productive people sharing their lives - meaning that the perceived normal becomes skewed. People who enjoy watching study CZcams content might get the impression that this is the only way of being a successful student. I definitely get the impression that some people make an effort to portray themselves in a similar way because they think it is the only "right" way to be, if that makes sense, thus contributing to this one-sided view of student life. Your clarification that this isn't necessarily the case and that you don't expect this to be the case for everyone really resonated with me đ
Thanks for this point of view, itâs really helpful to understanding the TP problem. Appreciate it!
Never seen Kharma so shy. Lovely interview.
Yassss, excited to hear it!!
Ms. Elizabeth's smile is enchanting đ„șđ
I gotta say as a new CZcamsr, I find myself nodding when they were talking about their "early stages." So great to hear about your experiences and thank you for sharing how you started! It definitely makes it less lone-some to start on this new journey :)
Lovely to see this episode â€ïž
I've been watching Nasir for so long and just started watching Elizabeth. I'm so EXCITED for this one đ
I really liked the point, that you said not to care about how you look, or how's the lighting, but what's important is the content you provide. :)
I really loved watching this video! It's great to see you guys explain about "toxic productivity"! Really like getting your perspectives of youtube.
I'll learn to respect your privacy more! Didn't know how overwhelmed Elizabeth sometimes feel. I think youtube is more of a two sides with one sided interaction - if you get what I mean. As a viewer I think that I actually know you or that we're friends but that's only because I watch your videos and you don't know me at all! So maybe that's why you value your privacy all the more?
You guys! This was so insightful. As a regular viewer who enjoys watching both of you, I have to admit that I've always felt the pressure of being more productive like you guys. But I never really looked at it this way that this is actually what u guys like to do, how you guys like to spend your time. And I think this has encouraged me to follow my heart on a whole new level. Thanks a lot!
Thank you so much for this comment Mahal, so grateful for Nasir giving us the chance to talk about it!
Really appreciate this POV!
Nasir, Iâve never met you in person so donât have a comparison like Elizabeth and your gf who say you come across âcooler in personâ and more âroboticâ in your videos. As a viewer, Iâd say we definitely get to know âyouâ more in your personal life vlogs, when you travel, when you show your daily life and routines etc. So my suggestion would be to add more of these raw videos because letâs be honest, when any of us are in professional work mode, we have to watch what we say and question every piece of advice we offer. I wouldnât worry too much about bridging that gap though unless it realllllly bothers you because I can assure you that your good, honest, kind hearted nature is always evident. đ
Thatâs a really wonderful insight, thank you!
Loved this was so fun to watch, these podcasts are such a good idea canât wait to catch up on all of them!
I have Discover this podcast recently (although I already watched your vĂdeos at Kharma Medic) and I am listening while I am running every day. Please, do more Podcast like this, it's Very relaxing when doing exercise.

It was so interesting . I enjoyed it with a cup of coffee

Yes I am so excited đ
Wow, really enjoyed this!!! I'm a big fan of Nasir & recently gotten into Elizabeth's videos. Such a cool collab tbh. Nasir, your interview style and the way you transition between topics with your guests, while still allowing them to shine & speak is amazing, and particularly inspiring to me at the moment. I'm launching a podcast soon in med school so definitely takes notes from you! đ€ Keep up the amazing work. ps. this was a BANGER as always âđ» lol
awww man thatâs such wonderful feedback! Thank you so much â€ïž
This was an absolute joy to watch and this podcast is quickly becoming my new favourite! Loved the discussion about art being the calm in a crazy hectic world and then about how you view productivity especially in the world of study tube. Absolute banger of an episodeđ„

This podcast episode is a banger. I relate to the CZcams part of this episode since I am just starting my CZcams channel. I agree that you have to start from somewhere and my first drawings were also not the best but I have improved.
Ommggggg yessss i ammm sooo happyyyyy
Hey i love to follow you both Doc elizabeth filips. .. . shout out and goodluck. . . Keep safe and love to hear you both. .. .
Inspiring and motivation
Some of the things you guys shared are so relatable to me. I've been through a few hundred + YT channels that I look up or YT algorithm recommends to me. Whether that topic was good or bad, not interesting I watch it. I don't hit like nor dislike, and I don't comment anything negative out of respect for the creator. If the topic is certainly interesting and much needed I hit like, comment and save it to my playlist. I create my own notes from that video because I know that video, 4 mins, 5 mins, 30 - 40 mins was/is much needed for productivity or leisure for myself, such as creative writing, art, or journaling. I don't like wasting my time with videos I know are not my interest or give me a grand headache at the end. I don't know why that happens but I really can't sit through 30 - 40 mins of uninteresting dilemma or topic.
I've been thinking for over three years to start a YT channel but every time I ask myself "What do I have to offer?" after this chat, I think I will revisit my list of to-dos for a YT channel. Thanks so much, Nasir and Elizabeth.
Nasir, this is impeccable!
Just wanted to say that the audio while introduction was a bit louder. Otherwise great work. Cheers!
Loved it you guys đ
A lovely podcast! As far as your content goes, you always make a point of stressing how all of it applies to your type of personality and that it should not by any means be perceived as the general standard. So I'd say you shouldn't worry too much about others perceiving it as an impossible standard to hold and such. You do you, share it and hopefully, it empowers and inspires others. So far it's been working terrifically. At the end of the day if some people misinterpret it's on them. Once you hit that publish button, the content is no longer yours to control. It is out in the world and subject to interpretations which is the way it should be. You're doing great!
Thatâs exactly how I feel - thanks for sharing your opinion!
Since Elizabeth said she doesn't know a lot of female medical youtubers. Here are some medical youtubers i like to watch
America revere

I hope you also do a podcast with Faye Bate she is also an amazing medschool youtuber and I have listened to all your casts so far and really amazing job
You might get your wishes confirmed sooner than you think đ
I reckon Elizabeth says as many words in 3 minutes as a normal human does in 10-12 minutes - no risk of wasting time there đ
Good videođđ
Yeah! This is an *INSANE* productive podcast. Elizabeth without video cuts seems more happy and cute laughing a lot! XD â
Hahhaa Elizabeth is usually laughing 99% of the time, that's true đ

âSo important to find that escape.â That hit me, You guys should try meditating! It does wonders.
i want your song you had used its amazing
You are doing so great stuff May Allah bless you
Just letting you know I like longer videos because Iâm usually doing other things while watching your videos (cooking, cleaning, etc) and itâs annoying to stop and change videos every 5 mins lol. So please keep your videos 10-15 mins hahahha
Hey I reckon you should add timestamps to your podcast videos
ur so cuteđ„șđ„șđ„șđ„ș
Get MedHead on here !!
But longer videos are nice when we don't want just info but also listen to your story and hear about your personal examples or experiences. Also if I want to draw or do chores and listen to you guys at the same time, a 3 min video is kinda not enough :D But a longer video is like I am hanging out with you.
