@@ChandranPrema123 Everyone of us knows that Kaveri engine will become fit to use one day, but if that one day will come after 30-40 years later than that's bad, MoD needs to be more proactive and should allocate more budget to this project.

in the ever changing landscape of national defense, the navy needs to look into privately owned naval ports & shipyards . . . that'll be solely dedicated to designing & building state-of-the-art naval surface combatants & submarines . . . the private sector can build a series of dedicated state-of-the-art naval shipyards over the next 4 yrs - 5 yrs . . . similar to what Space X has done so far, a privately owned entity dedicated to space exploration like NASA . . . Indian Navy's next batch of AIP powered submarines could do with a larger variant of the Scorpène class . . .

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) and the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) have signed a contract to provide two Air Independent Propulsion (AIP) System Modules for the Indian Navy's Kalvari Class submarines. The AIP Modules will be manufactured, integrated and undergo factory acceptance trials in L&T's AM Naik Heavy Engineering Complex at Surat.
Now this video also claims to integrate the system in 2025.
It's always amusing how these projects are perpetually scheduled for "next year." Perhaps it's a strategic move to keep us all in a constant state of anticipation. "Next year" seems to be the favorite timeline for defense projects-like an ever-receding mirage.
Maybe by 2025, we'll finally see these AIP Modules, or who knows, they might just be in the works for 2026! 😂😂😂😂

Additionally, we are about to receive 8 Hangor-class AIP-capable submarines currently being built in Karachi and China, bringing our total to 11. This makes us the biggest operator of AIP-capable submarines in the region after China. Meanwhile, India must be watching with envy, as their attempts to keep up seem more like they’re collecting submarines for a naval museum rather than building an effective fleet.

Why do Indians always talk about what will happen in the future? If DRDO is really as efficient as they claim, it's a wonder why Indian naval officers need to fly all the way to Germany and Spain just to learn about AIP systems. Perhaps they're hoping to learn a thing or two about AIP systems that might actually work, given the reported shortcomings of Indian AIP technology
Both are different projects. Yes India is taking aip from Europe , that doesn't mean India will not develop it's own.
Those are newer and different submarine.
