सही बात है 2018 से ही मैंने देखना और डिफेंस में इंट्रेस्ट लेना शुरू कर दिया था हालाकी मेरे रुचि की शुरुआत UPA के समय MMRCA के समय ही शुरू ही हो गई थी
सारे पार्टिसिपेंट aicrafts की न्यूज पेपर कटिंग्स अपनी आर्ट बुक्स में लगाता था।
फिर 2018 से अल्फा डिफेंस और मैट्रिक्स, डिकोड , देखना शुरू किया

Congrats to Modi gov and DRDO scientists for pushing Atmanirbhar Bharat. Kayiyon ne kahan tha Uttam AESA toh kabhi banega hi nahi... abhi ban gaya toh topic badalne ki koshish kar rahe hai..
The AL31 engines have a short service life and have to be routinely swapped out anyways. The IAF not opting for the AL41 engine upgrade is puzzling. Afaik the AL41 doubles the service life, even if it's still far from Western.
Only USA makes heavy category engines like russia. That is f100 engine of f15 that has reliability issues and failures in between flights. Al31 is reliable and has no failure issue in 20 years of IAF service. F100 has 3000 hours life and al31 has 2500 hours life but it also has 3d thrust vectoring to balance it. I would say al31 is far better overall. Yes al41 will be far more better.
@@Vartik-jr4qr The AL41 is what I was talking about, clearly. Integrating an American engine would be a substantial task of reengineering and we'd be even more years late.

I think we should go for Astra Microwave for producing these radars as the expertise of BEL will be required in more important projects such as uogradation of Uttam radar for the AMCA project.

It can detect 2m^2 target 200 km away
That kind of information will only come out if the radar is ever exported... otherwise range and specs of radar is very sensitive info..

Uttam for Tejas was said to outperform it. ( Approx 800 TR modules )
Uttam for Tejas mk-2 will have 900+ TR modules & for SU-30 it is 1500+ TR modules ( so, much greater detection & range ).
Uttam aesa se better hoga kafi aur uttam aesa already sabse advance mein se ek hai apni inventory mein
So for Tejas mk1A we importing ELM2052 but for su 30 we already have the AESA rader doesn't make sense

Korea and others are getting GE engines. It seems there is some rare metal availability issue caused by China which is impacting fighter and civilian aircraft engine production . Rafale has given a statement that this is effecting delivery. Meanwhile GE is only choaking Indian supply.
Is this radar a variant of the UTTAM Radar family or a completely new radar just for SU-30 by DRDO.

What is the AeSa radar's detection range?
AESA RADAR's detection range depends on 1) number of TR Modules ( Trensmit-Reciever modules )
2) GaN based radar has more range than GaAs as it consumes lesser energy
( that's why @Alphadefence =Subodh said " engine upgrade ki jaroorat hi nahi padegi")
we may guess the range ONLY after officially they tell if it is GaN or GaAs based radar.
GaN based TR modules were being tested for at least a few months in some missiles - i prey it is GaN.
