It’s a way of life. I’m 70 and have lots of goals. Most I’m getting good progress at but some are more problematic. I have a big goal that I’ve been working on for a few years that I’m going to succeed at this year, by June. I’ve bought a house and am closing soon, then moving by the first week of June. I’ve been packing up some stuff and decluttering today in preparation to move. It’s a big move as I’m going to be in another state. I also have a group of potential goals of things to do in the house I’m buying. Some of those are fun activities and some are related to home maintenance and decorating. I keep a journal(s) of my goals and progress. A person is never to old for goals

@@-CybinNo, because every feeling was simply about how you were in the circumstances of the moment anyway. So don’t worry about having wasted time and energy if we are all 100% gonna eventually die anyway. Just worry about living in the moment and feeling good about doing your best for yourself. Just exist in the moment and do one single thing differently, that’s all, because all you can be doing anyway is one single thing at a time, so do one thing, and feel it, live it, and then you can figure out the rest later.
I’m 37 and at this point in my life I want to help those in need and always focus on the present and not only the destination when it comes to my overall happiness.

I wish I knew my goal. 59 yrs old and about to be an empty nester for the first time after raising kids and a grandchild. I can't think of one thing that I want to do.
First of all, give yourself a pat on the back for your accomplishment and hard work you invested as a parent. You deserve it. My advice would be to enjoy each day as it comes. Dont overthink it, otherwise youll drive yourself crazy like i did. Get out and have fun. Im 58 and went through a period of being kinda lost when i became an empty nester in my mid forties. Start with YOU. Afterall you spent a huge part of your life taking care of everyone else, so now i would suggest you turn your focus on your self and take the time to get to know you. Pamper yourself and treat yourself to those little luxuries like a massage, pedicure, a new hair style, etc. Put your self and especially your health at the top of your priority list. Health is wealth. You cant enjoy life if your ill. Make yourself a bucket list of things youve always wanted to try or accomplish. These things can be very small like wanting to read a certain book all the way to larger goals like climbing Everest for example. Keep that list close so you can check it every once in a while. Dont be afraid of stepping out of your comfort zone either. With patience, life will unfold itself and guide you. But just remember to have fun as you explore new opportunities that come your way and embrace it all. Blessings and Good luck 👩🏻🌾😊
Try a lot of things and see if anything sticks! one thing may lead to another and you find something fun. let it be created, not a perfect plan from the beginning
Think about your life, we’re there any things you wanted to do as a child or teen that you put on the back burner while you raised your family? Those are possible things you could do. If your joy was always in your kids maybe there’s something you could do related to kids. Such as teach Sunday School, volunteer at the local grade school, etc…
Enjoy spending time..your time now... trying new things.. anything..just give everything a go and see how it makes you feel...find your joy! Have fun on the journey x also what did you love doing as a child? Try that now
Wow, what an excellent guide. I like that it focuses on not losing motivation due to thinking your work is wrong when it isn’t. I always set achievable goals but often fail because something feels off about my work that prompts me to restart. If I’ll do what the guide says, I’m pretty sure this will change.
What you call backtracking, is often called " reverse engineering " your goals. Having micro goals as you say, re weekly, monthly, quarterly definitely helps us see whether we are on track. Often the goals people pick are not what they really want, hence why the lack of action. Other times laziness is the problem. We live in a dopamine chasing world.. as you say it takes effort and time to create that which we truly want. Spending time in nature and journaling are great ways to find out what we actually want. The way you've broken it down and simplified it is great. Wishing you a lot of success with your workbook!
