Not only am I impressed by the work you do, I'm also amazed at how you're able to maintain such a beautiful manicure while doing it; especially since you don't always wear gloves.
Acrylic nails
👍👏🌹
Thank you! Cheers!
Yeah it got my attention too😅
Exactly my thoughts too
Trena, you took a chair with “Heinz 57 varieties of wood” and worked your meticulous magic once again. Absolutely stunning!
Same thought exactly, Heinz 57 ,,,
Thank you! Cheers!
How can you work with those nails
Love the manicure!
You give that old broken down chair a new lease on life and another hundred years service. Great job as usual
It went from an ugly duckling to a beautiful swan. The sum being greater than the individual components. I especially like this video. The background music in particular. So appropriate for the thoughtfulness put into this restoration.
Thankyou!
I can only imagine how loved this chair has been through the years that it has been repaired, and repaired. So happy you could return it to like-new condition so it can continue to be a cherished item.
Yes! Thank you!
Happy Mother’s Day to the mother of furniture restoration CZcams!
Oh thank you!

Wow. That’s so special! Thankyou!
What I love about your channel is that you employ some well-used, well-worn tools, containers, and surfaces to create some very clean, lovely pieces. Not a lot of flash; simply outstanding craft, technique, talent and attention to detail.
Thank you very much!
Ahhh the sweet gratification of turning a seemingly hopeless piece in to a thing of beauty. Nice job!
Yes! Thank you!
There again you have taken an ugly duckling and made it a beautiful swan. Great job Trena! Cheers ❤
Thankyou!
Trina
You are such a superb colourist- you have my complete admiration.
Happy Mother’s Day to you! I’m lounging on the sofa watching you work your magic as my kids and partner make me brunch - heavenly!
Wonderful! Happy Mother’s Day to you too.
Happy Mother’s Day! Was about to get up for breakfast but will watch this first!
Hope you enjoy
Trena, this is your golden formula for videos! Love the stripping and serious repair along with a what not to do without saying it. So perfect videography balance!
Thankyou!
Beautiful transformation of that chair. Like night and day. And "Happy Mother's Day!"
Thank you!
Beautiful. Your chair screams “Thanks for bringing out my true beauty:”
You’re welcome 😊
Originally, I tried to fix some of the items in my household. Subsequent liver damage from another cause, made me wonder if my inexpert exposure to the chemicals. However, there is a wooden furniture repair business in our town, Dekkard and Bix, where I decided to take those damaged chairs inherited from my grandfather who was a master carpenter for the Boston & Maine train. They were able to make the repairs that made the furniture stronger than the original, and restore them to the pride of their original construction. I am glad to see this carpenter protects herself from the damaging aspects of the paint removal chemicals.
Trena watching you strip the wood, I didn't think I was going to like it. I thought it was going to be that tiger looking stripe. Turns out it is beautiful. You did a good job as always.❤
Extraordinary original construction, deconstruction and re- construction . Amazing job - congratulations!
Happy mother's day.❤ As usual what a great job full of very useful teaching and comments. Many thanks.😊
So nice of you
We sit and wonder at our past with open eyes and open mind our history past and present; we gaze in awe at our last past just to think who was that person last to use the things we restore ! and still we know not our history past yet with a smile we will always still wonder ‘
I feel like this is the best it has ever looked. I just love it!
That chair is absolutely delightful…….👍🏻🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
I can't believe it is the same chair, the toner really gives it a great color match. Realy love the seat cushion.
I've no idea why CZcams sent me here but I am so glad it did. It's reminded me that I got a similar conditioned chair as part of an auction lot (if you want it you have to take the chair!) and it has been in my loft for thirty years. I'm inspired to do something with it now, so you have saved two chairs!
I will restore it but only if you want it back😉❤️
If I did not know better, I would say it is a different hair. What a transformation.
Trena, thank you for sharing another lovely example of your skill and artistry!!!
I'm guessing this chair was made in the 1930's. I have discovered through my years that a lot of furniture crafted in the 1930's was made from whatever assorted wood parts and pices that were on hand, and then faux grain and various colored stains tied it all together and made it look like a piece of finer furniture. "Whatever works" is emplyed more often when times are hard, finances are limited, and resources are scarce. Furniture pieces like this chair served long and hid their secrets well. Their longevity is a testament to the original craftsmanship, regardless of the assorted materials utilized for construction. The additions of oversized screws and nails add to the chairs apparent refusal to give up.
Vintage treasures like this once again lovely chair make me wish furniture could talk and tell us its story. ❤
🥰
It is such a pleasure watching you work your magic! Thank you!
Thank you so much!
You must have a very good nail tech! Just beautiful! Thanks for doing all the hard work- My body won't let me do this work anymore, but I sure did enjoy watching this transformation!
The manufacture's or maker's use of different woods was probably why they tiger printed it.
I tear up when I see the beautiful grain emerge, it's always such a surprise and so fulfilling!! You do such beautiful work, and this chair is so lucky it found you to restore it. Love it! ps - Happy Mother's Day!
Thank you so much
Your blending of colors was perfect. What a beautiful chair from a mess.
Scrap wood chair, hence the tiger stripped finish. Great job pulling it all together.
Trena, I love how much you love doing a good job, a proper, respectful job.
You did an absolutely wonderful job
A wonderful overhaul of that classic armchair. Congratulations. 👍
Many thanks!
I have to say, this is one of the best restorations I have ever seen you (or anyone) do! I love the color, the beautiful elm grain peaking through, and the elegant simplicity of the whole piece. Absolutely stunning!
Wow, thank you!
you KNOW THAT CHAIR IS FINALLY BREATHING AND SHOWING OFF ITS BEAUTY !!! great job trena!!!!!
Absolutely gorgeous. I love that you love returning these pieces to new again. There is some beautiful wood and history in that chair and your mother's upholstery is just fabulous. Love that your customers also want to keep old alive and make it new. Just beautiful Trena! I hope you had a beautiful Mother's Day!
Blessings
Thankyou you too hun!
My thumb is up, but I've got chair envy now.
Can't believe they painted that beautiful chair. Now it's beautiful again. Love it.
Beautiful chair, you did a great work
That chair did turn out really nice. You still amaze me with your skills.
Thank you! 😊
Can't believe there was such a nice chair under that dodgy paint!
How in the world do you keep those gorgeous nails with a job like this! ❤
I like the finger nails. Awesome chair recovery from ugly to beautiful.
"No big deal", um, OK. You did a wonderful restoration of this little "eclectic" chair.
@Trena~ WOW, what a fantastic restoration makeover! This little chair turned out so beautiful & sophisticated! Thanks for all the great tips & tricks you shared along the way! Cheers to you my friend! ~~Christy~~
Cheers Christy! 🥰
Oh would I love to have that chair. It is very sophisticated. I love it's design. The tinting made all the woods work together. You're right. Who dictated that a piece of furniture has to be the same wood throughout? Nobody that's who.
Happy Mother's day all , very nice job Trena you saved that chair looks amazing stay safe and God Bless
Thanks so much
Lol ! Your nails compliment the green of the chair! My best to you , and beautiful shop dog !❤
Thank you! Cheers!
G'day from Australia, how are you doing Trena I'm here because I needed two things, to see your finished work and to see a very beautiful woman, thankyou for supplying both ❤
Beautifully restored. 😍👍🏻👍🏻🪑
Trena it's absolutely beautiful. Happy mother's day. I love the choice of the music for your video. Your amazing!!!
Thank you so much
Amazing transformation! And I know you have mentioned using dowels vs plugs before, but I think this is the first time you have explained why. It makes perfect sense now. Thank you.
Absolutely amazing what you have done with that chair! It is now like a precious gem! Love it and the work is perfection as usual!
Thanks so much!
Thank you for saving this chair from the ugly old paint. And when you removed those embedddd screws I think I heard a sigh of relief and maybe saw a hint of a smile even. In the end you teased out the best of this Frankenchair. This "new" chair makes me feel so happy. Thanks for sharing.

Awesome!
Glad to see you're wearing a respirator.
Thank you for this video! That chair reminds me of my late grandmother it looks like one she would have had in her home. The end color is perfect. So Thank you for the memories on this Mother's Day in the US. You do wonderful work as always. Great Job!!!
You are so welcome!
Turned out beautifully. Why people gotta mess up beautiful natural wood furniture. I made my mother a ornament 3 shelf hang on wall real natural wood. She gave it to my daughter years ago and I found out recently she painted it and hung on her wall at her house,I made this in 8th grade wood shop at school. I happened to see it one day at her house and ask her where she got it because it looked familiar, except that paint. Oh yes I'm 74 yrs old now. Kinda made me sick to see it like that..even after all this time
Well. If they love it it’s up to them
That is AMAZING! Saved from the landfill.
The chair really did turn out very nice !
I like that you truly restore.
Why would anyone paint something that has such beautiful wood? Nice job as always.
Ohmigosh! Beautiful work, as always. The way that chair looked when it came in, I might've said "take it to the dumps: it's ugly as sin!" But as usual, you did one heck of a job of turning the ugly duckling into the beautiful swan!
BTW--I love your choice of background music; so soothing and calming. 🙂
Thankyou!
You made a beautiful chair Was really sad before. Your care always shines❤❤❤❤😊
Thank you! 😊
You always have the best music!🎵
Lot's of work but well worth it in my opinion. Very satisfying.
5/12/24..another beautiful restoration of an ugly splotchy banged-up opaque pale green high back wood chair w/arms held on with exposed square nuts & rust...then (drum roll...) ...your skillful analysis & great camera work (lighting, close-ups etc) transforms this neglected 'porch dog' of a chair to a fantastic looking 'Court house' Chair...another fine 'testomony' to your talent & dedication...yup, another great job Trena! Happy Mothers Day too!👍💪🍹🌷🪴
Thankyou! James
Always amazed how you can take something that looks like junk and turn it into something nice.
Hi Trena, if I hadn't seen it I wouldn't have believed it was the same chair, brilliant as always thanks to you and your mum, cheers!!🥰😘💕👍👍👍
What a wonderful transformation. As I have always felt, you are amazingly talented.
Thank you so much!
As per usual you've created a masterpiece out of something ready for the skip.👍
Many thanks!
Trena the Toner genius, beautiful work as always.
Thank you very much!
It does look more sophisticated now.
Magnifique! Talent will always produce results that seem impossible and you make it look simple. Just wonderful.
Thank you very much!
Hello!!
From Uruguay 🇺🇾
I enjoy every video You make.
And I learn a lot!!
Congratulations!!
Awesome job You did with that chair!!
Thank you very much!
Wow! What a change. It’s gorgeous! You do such nice work.
What an incredible transformation. You sure know your wood. A lovely looking chair.
Thank you very much!
Beautifully reclaimed and very cohesive. Another banger! Thanks for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Perfect color choice in my book🧐, and your MASTERY toning different wood pieces to "play nice" together.☺ Great job with wood plugs, too. I try VERY hard to find matching grain pieces, or if a large plug, something that can work as a stable knot or whirl. Your mom's upholstery is wizard! Most people would have trashed this chair, but your magic made it reborn (maybe better than original?). Love the results.🤗
Thanks!
Once again you have taken a poor broken down piece of furniture, who has suffered years of abuse and turned it into a beautiful and graceful grand piece . It's saying thank you, thank you, thank you.
🥰
From a bridge job or fire wood to a real beauty 😊
Another beautiful restoration Trena🙂🌻🧡
Thank you! 🤗
Отличная работа!!! Браво Мастеру!!!😍😍😍
Absolutely stunningly beautiful transformation. Thank you for sharing!
You are so welcome!
What a beautiful result! Just gorgeous! Thank you for sharing what you do with us, Trena. I see old furniture now and wonder how it would look if it were refurbished.
You are so welcome
Love it!!! "Happy Mother's Day!! To you and your Mom too!!
Thank you so much!
Very cool old chair..
Look's fabulous..
✌️❤️😁
Wow Trena, that went from a junker chair to sit in in a dirty workshop and drink coffee to a den or dining room to drink coffee in. You do really fine work and still have nice nails ... ROFL I do wish I could fine your paint stripper up here in Alaska though. thats the best stripper I've seen. Until your next vid ... keep them coming. Thanks again.
Thankyou!
Happy Mother’s Day. Fantastic video. Amazing what can be done, and redone to furniture. Thanks
Thank you! You too!
extremely nice restore, painted boogie man to ravishing beauty wanting to be seen.!!
E Pluribus Unum . Fits rather nicely here.
Hey there. Thanks for the tip to cut a plug rather than using dowels when filling holes. The logic of aligning the grain makes total sense. I've been doing it wrong.
Glad to help!
Looks like they used whatever wood they had and used that patterning to disguise it.
Then you transformed it and gave it a new lease of life. And mom too with her upholstery skills.
Yea Thankyou
Happy Mother's Day...the chair is beautiful
Thank you! 🤗
Another amazing restoration. As usual. Thank you..
Beautiful job as always, Trena. The finished piece looks like it was always meant to look like that. Nice upholstery work Mom. What were they thinking when they painted it?
That's a great transition for that chair. Initially, I would have turned that chair into kindling. But there was much to learn watching you do this chair.
I would love some wood like this for my keepsake boxes! It's beautiful!
Congratulations well done.
