The witcher series is one of those series where I start a new playthrough with the intention of trying other story paths but end up making the exact same choices I did my first time just to relive the experience

Wanna get some more quality Witcher? Watch the old Polish version of the Witcher series (my personal favourite). but be prepared, it´s low budget, it has different story. (just like the new series compared to books)

I can tell by the number of thumbs you got most people didnt understand the game. But... you are exactly right. The game is about found family. Everything that happens outside of this is really just fluff. Its trully the best rpg ive ever played and it will likely remain so for the rest of my life.

It was actually considered the most appropriate polearm for them (the other polearms on the battlefield were longer and heavier, plus a Naginata could allow even a weaker person to decapitate someone).

If you think about it, the witcher 3 was never about Geralt, because his hero’s journey was told in the books and the preceding games; Ciri was the Arthurian legend the ballad would remember, and you the player didn’t play as the traditional ‘chosen one’ character, but rather the person who influences and builds the girl into the legend.

Well as of April 9, 2024 Miracle of Sound has 1.02 million subscribers. Hard to believe this Awesome song came out over 8 years ago. It probably has been a half year since I last listen to this song, need to remember to listen to more Miracle of Sound music.

Damn, fighting as Ciri was one of the coolest things in Witcher 3. I wish there was a way to obtain that Teleport Spam skill for Geralt. Alas, that would make no sense lore-wise :P
I wonder, did Gavin read the books? Ciri becomes even more interesting in the game when one knows what kind of character she was before.
Kazmistrz1993 I agree that the most fun I had in The Witcher 3 I had while fighting as Ciri. It wasn't as complex as Geralt's fighting, so it was the right call to limit the time of the sections, but the faster, lighter combat really appealed to me. Dodge roll is great, a staple of any character action game, but blink will always be more fun.
Kazmistrz1993 Ciri is amazing, from a princess to a witcher to a fisstech snorting lesbian bandit, to a slave, to a time and cross dimension traveler, pretty fucking badass. And you can't forget she was friends with unicorns and was supposed to be mother of wild hunt next king, who knows maybe if they would have viagra in this world she could have been Aen Elle queen.
Kazmistrz1993 I kind of hated that she sopped the white frost - for book-Ciri it was an integral part of her character arc that she decided she cared about her personal happiness more than her duties of birth, and so for her to stop the white frost undoes that arc.
aNerdNamedJames Honestly, I just pretend that the books and the games are separate entities. The games aren't bad, but there is the mild issue of their storyline blatantly contradicting the established stories. That being said, I wouldn't say that she cared about personal happiness more than her destiny - at the end, she almost seemed to accept it before asking for time. and considering that she can jump through time, it's potentially possible that she does eventually find the maturity and selflessness to come back and face fate.

Crazy how she began a tiny fragile princess and now shes a young lady able to beat any monsters arse quite damn hard.
Imagine if Ciri came to our world. She did allude to something like that when Geralt found her in that cabin. "People there had metal in their heads, waged war from a distance, using things similar to megascope. There were no horses, everyone had their own flying ship". Granted we don't have personal flyers yet. As if she came to a world similar to our own just slightly more advanced.

The did a really good fucking job. The frustration, of hearing or even seeing your daughter, yet never reaching her, and the final bit... I like near tragic/super intense events like that, though I get pissed when awesome characters die.
Relationship between them are much deeper and metaphysical in books. Probably for 4-5 games like Witcher 3. Their relationship isn't only as a adoptive father and daughter, but they are connected by fate (in my opinion the strongest power in Witcher uniwerse).

Honestly, she is too amazing to give her too much screen time before it gets stale. The whole point of of her getting chased is becomes of the immense powers she wields and they give you a couple times the chance to try them out to show it's not just words. However if you make it too long, it will either get boring fast since you are a monster or they make it harder which lessens the whole idea of her being well...the most powerful being in the witcher universe.

I just listened to this on Spotify, my initial thought was "Wow, Gavin's vocal range is quite impressive. Them female vocals!." I never said I was smart :P
The Reason why I Love Ciri so much. She wields the blood that is capable of manipulating Time and Space, She is thought by one of the, if not the best swordmaster in her world. She is literally a Goddess but despite all of this she just wants to feel happiness and freedom, but every time there is a catastrophe her heroic side surfaces and she ends up saving the world. Plus she has that sort of attitude which I find attractive.
Gavin, your talent is astonishing! Whenever I think "That's it - that's gotta be the best he'll ever do", you just keep raising the bar further!
I was trying to figure out through the entire song, if it was Lorna singing. A shame there probably won't be anymore Elizabeth-themed songs, I always loved her part in the Bioshock-songs! I love the use of both the voices to both switch between Geralt and Ciri's perspective, and to harmonize, to show tghem working together. The bits of symbolism like that in the songs are part of why this channel is amazing.

Just finished playing all the witcher games. When this song first dropped I thought it sounded amazing. Now that I understand the characters and story, years later it hits different. It’s more impactful now

This is by far the best performance by a female vocalist I've heard in a very, very long time. I've heard this song dozens of times, and it's goosebumps, close to tears, every time. Amazing, amazing voice and an awesome song. Indeed, a miracle of sound if there ever was one. I bow to you, master bard.

God this game is so incredible! I have no idea how CDPR managed to produce this amount of hand crafted content, while delivering a compelling story with fantastic characters that you could enjoy at your own pace in a massive open world. In my opinion they really blew every other company out of the water with this one. My favorite game of all time by far!

This has to be my favorite Miracle Of Sound song. Obviously because Ciri is the daughter I never had, but also because Ailin's voice is just so frickin amazing.
This is still the best song in your discography, with Sovngarde Song as a close second. Its lyrics are constantly shifting, even the chorus is always slightly different, and the way the music itself flows with the voice work is absolutely gorgeous.
Whenever I hear any of Gavin's Witcher songs I want to play the whole damn trilogy again.

In the books which all occurred before the Witcher games Yennefer disappears to try and find a cure to infertility for Sorcerers. She's so MADLY in love with Geralt that she wants his babies that bad.

Tought at the beggining, before i knew much about TW, I tought that Ciri was Yen and Geraltz biological daughter, because Yen has been always very motherly of her and she resembles Geraltz. I tought she had the same hair and complexion than Geraltz and eyes in that color due mix of parents.
I got kinda angry when realiced she was not, i dont even know why :(

What's really crazy is that I hear traces of this song in the Witcher opening on Netflix. When the opening reaches the first crescendo, I can just hear "shimmer of white skies" echoing through it.

No words to explain how good this is. Captures the essence of the Witcher 3 so well. Watching this after playing the game is an over flow of emotion. Had to fight pretty hard to keep the manly tears back.

Especially his first two books of the Geralt-Saga, which are short-stories are great.

shiiit, i only found 4 written books, the first being The Last Wish, maybe it intertwined the 2 though
