The title of your message cuts out the 1st part of the verse! We are saved by GRACE through faith! Its very important to remember that all we have been given is by the grace of God! Its a gift and none of it is of ourselves! According to the word, not even faith is of ourselves, since God is the founder and perfecter of our faith, Heb 12:1-3 and Paul states in 1cor12:9 that faith is a spiritual gift! I'm certainly all about the faith , but I keep seeing this happen more and more and many believers today are under the false assumption that their faith comes from their sheer willpower and not from God, so I just wanted to remind us of this beautiful gift of Gods Grace through faith in Jesus!

      @mickiasbekele7914 Před 3 lety

I do not set aside the Grace of God [in Christ]; for if righteousness came through the law [works], Christ died for nothing (Galatians 2:21). Salvation is by His Grace alone iN Christ Jesus Alone and nothing else. If u try to add something to the faith like works or anything, u're nullifying His Work or enstranged from Christ (Galatians 5:3). The faith we have in Christ Jesus saves us and His Spirit regenerates our spirits and turn our hearts of stones to hearts of flesh (Ezekiel). And since in our faith in Christ Jesus, we become a new creation and thus produce the works we couldn't have done without Christ. Faith produces works, but understand works doesn't and will never justify us, but only trusting on Him who justifies many and bear our iniquity (Isaiah 53:11). If u add anything to the Grace of God in Christ Jesus's Finished Work, you have fallen away from Him and it says even not to add or take away anything From The Gospel of Jesus Christ (Deutronomy 4:2).
For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything, but faith working through love. (Faith alone producing lovd (Galatians 5:6)
For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them. (Ephesians 2:8-10). This verse will explain everything to u. However, if u say u have faith in Him, but still live in sin in the world and love the world and don't give up everything for Christ and ur life didn't change, then its a proof that u don't have faith. For what James was trying to say was that the way we know we have faith and full trust on His Grace and His Redemptive Work is if we bear fruit in our lives. You'll know them by their fruits...A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit. (Matthew 7:16-18 null). Works is the fruits of faith in Christ Jesus alone and not a requirement for salvation.
If u conform to this world, it proves that u didn't have faith in Him (dead faith as James said), but deceived. The way u examine urself is by looking at ur fruits which is the result of His Work and nothing else. For Abraham was not considered righteous for being circumcised, for trusting in Him, Then he believed in the LORD; and He reckoned it to him as righteousness. (Genesis 15:6). But his circumcision was the result of His Faith that naturally flowed out of his regenerate heart that proved He was Christ's and no one else.
Salvation is by His Grace alone through faith alone in Christ Jesus alone qnd that faith is proven by the righteousness and conformity to The Word of God in ur life till the end. But becareful, don't add to the Gospel or take away anything, but hold on to Christ alone till the end (1 Corinthians 15:2). If u add anything or take away anything from the Gospel of Truth (salvation by His Grace alone through Christ Jesus alone and nothing else) God will eternally judge u (Rev 22:18-19)

What is Faith?--- It is to believe, without doubting, whatever God teaches. Because God is the very truth, and cannot deceive nor be deceived.
Faith, as applied to revealed truths, is a complete certainty---"It is the evidence of things that appear not." (Heb. 11: 1) To have Faith, therefore, is to be quite certain of the truths we profess; for, if there be any doubt or misgiving , it is not Faith, but only, at most, a strong opinion. Divine Faith is distinguished from mere human belief by the authority on which it is grounded. That which makes Faith divine is this----believing revealed truths because God, Who is truth itself, has declared them; for what He has said must be true, whether we comprehend it or not. Quote

  • @jeromemelu6332

Hi, what you explained is 100% the same in Catholic Cathechism. We are justified (right to be in the body of Christ (new Life) by Faith not by works but in the final judgment that Faith w/c initially placed in us as an act of righteousness has to be translated into good works (love God & Love our neighbor) with our cooperation with sanctifying grace and then will receive in the final judgment eternal Life... Without sanctifying grace, we can't do good works but w/o our cooperation we can't also do good works... to cooperate or not to cooperate is from our own free will. Thus, it is more clearer to say Faith and work (in cooperation with grace) will give us eternal life than to say Faith alone. James is not contrary to Paul since Paul said Faith apart from work and not Faith alone apart from work... James was explicit and he's not implying as you assumed in your explanation (Faith alone where faith is not alone)...

While they did not deny their faith, they tolerated sin. Jesus had some very choice words and stern warnings for them. What is the point of repentance give faith alone offers salvation? Just my two cents.

According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
The reason you where not taken out of your sins and into Christ when you where born is because you did not hear the Gospel but you where a lost sheep.
Look what hearting the Gospel does to those whom where appointed to believe (Acts 13:48 )
      Ephesians 1:13
In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit,
Christ said This concerning His Sheep from the Jews and gentiles
      Matt 15:24
24He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel
      john 10:16
16I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them in as well, and they will listen to My voice. Then there will be one flock and one shepherd.
      John 10:27
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.
This work is all God's work we do nothing.
the means in which one comes to believe God is through His Gospel,
The response to the gospel is the work of God. look at John 6:27-29 27Do not work for food that perishes, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on Him God the Father has placed His seal of approval.”
28Then they inquired, “What must we do to perform the works of God?”
29Jesus replied, “The work of God is this: to believe in the One He has sent.”
Look at the text carefully. The people asked what most they do to perform the work of God, Jesus replied The work of God is this
to believe in the one He has sent
so the only reason you believe Jesus is the Son of God, the savior of the world is because God work that believe in you. therefore it is His work not yours, you workout that faith which has been given to you from God for the Glory of God. you don't contribute in your salvation. the thing is that secretly you want some type of credit I understand because I too believe this way. but the Scriptures are clear therefore I turn from my wrong doctrine because at it's core it's just man exaltation not God exaltation. and I desire to exalt God and this desire was given to me by God for The Glory of God.
      Romans 11:33
33O, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable His judgments, and untraceable His ways!

15:50 "the body IF IT DOES NOT PRODUCE spirit/breath is dead"
Is a big big big big mile away step from the actual thing you're reading
Scripture says APART from. You're saying "if it does not produce"... you're changing the words to fit your belief....
I was actually disappointed because I came here because I wanted to believe what you believe. But sadly, what you "teach" does not hold up to the material your teaching it from. It's so blatant and obvious and right infront of our noses!! I can't count the number of times you unnecessarily added to the text. Can't you just read it? It speaks for itself in its context...
I've seen similar takes on this with the same struggle...
Thanks for encouraging us to challenge this view.

    Is not faith alone
