Haven't watched yet, but BeamNG has to be first.
beamng it's not a racing game its a sandbox but it's mostly used for crashing
@@pipipupu1964 I quite enjoy the races in it as every small mistake, like softly bumping into a wall while exiting a corner, can screw up your wheel alignment and destroy your lap times.
@@Basti5792 Then your bumper glitches into the asphalt and your car gets sent to outer heaven
@@istachi this almost never happens anymore
@@JukoYT Really? Maybe I should give it another shot..
Let’s be honest. We clicked this video to see which game is no.2.
+1
I clicked to see which one was number 3
not really
more like which game is number 3. people who play wreckfest know its 2nd best to beam
@@ZIGAG1999 i mean wreckfest still has some weird deformations, i was expecting it to be 3rd
Anyone else remember back in 2014 when it wasn’t wreckfest
It was just “bugbear’s next car game”
Yes. But the Next Car Game was always said to be project name and the game name comes later. Each Flatout were also called Next Car Game internally
This unlocked a hidden memory of mine lol.
Its give me a good memory 😂😂😂
I buy it on pre alpha
Yeah, time flies by lol
Fun fact, in BeamNG, if your engine has a snorkel, you can go further underwater up until the snorkel itself is under the surface :D
Yup and also EVs can go underwater
you can edit the snorkel so it's super long and drive around under water but be when the car tilts so does the snorkel so it can make for a lot of fun
Snowrunner does this too,or to be specific Spintires games do that. Now if only it had a proper manual shift mode.
@@chazzcoolidge2654 It does, but you need a wheel hooked up to your PC/console in order to use it.
I remember testing this in the river in utah lol 😂

few more things to add for beam:
beamng has almost UNLIMITED content capabilities because of the repository and the Automation integration (which is the best idea ive ever heard)
They tried to make a soft body tech demo for a potential racing game, and did so well they arguably made the second best rocket simulation game behind KSP because of its gravity and atmosphere mechanics
If you've ever used the automation mods though, they are clearly quite.. Mediocre compared to the default dev vehicles on beam. It's a very cool idea though!
ive had the game since it came out all those years ago, still one of those games that stays on my pc as its fun to go have a crash. shame its not on console
It will be extraordinary realistic game if beamng drive added environment damage like damage to the tress and obstacles, tire marks in gravel and sand , etc
It's also not a bad racing game, very good physics simulation and if you get out of the track it's really punishing
One more thing to add for BeamNG:
It has really improved a lot since the beginning. I've known and had the game since then, and damn did they make some progress. Back in 2014, the game was only good for it's crash physics. Now you can race, rally, do derbies, banger races, even just cruise around with traffic in California. It really has become something else with time. Props to the developers, I love this game so much
BeamNG was originally made as a physics engine and not intended as a game.
@@hab1ak I know, my guy
and it is so open to mods, they have a whole page on their website
How good does your computer have to be to really have fun with Beam ng and push it ?
@@seanxxx8999 Mine's an i5-4460 with 8 GB RAM and integrated graphics and I can run the game pretty fine honestly, so I think you're good;
but having a dedicated GPU helps a lot, I'll get one in the future
We all knew that BeamNG would be on the 1st position
And the 2nd position is GTA 4
Tbh meaning?
@@EggGemera to be honest
@@official_Quube ok
I love to crash and look at the physics, and also the crash animation of the racing game when I'm bored lol
I still love the first GRID and DiRT games damage model
@@mindofmyown333 same with the Flatout series.
I went back and played PGR4 recently and I was blown away by how good the damage model was for 2007, and considering it had licensed cars too
Do not we all, miss? You ARE a miss in real life, right?
I'll go *WAY* back... "DRIVER" (the first one on playstation one)... The damage physics were *AWESOME* for it's time... And that was way back in the early 1990s...
7:07 the one time where you DON'T want to be stylish with your race car.
Life is so weird at times😂
Ur first
Grid, 2008 - I'm really surprised you didn't even mention it. I don't know how you'd rate it, but at the very least it made a lot of people realise the importance of a decent damage model - both visual AND mechanical - even in a circuit racing game that's not specifically made for damaging your car.
It managed to introduce the idea of clean racing without any penalties. You missed your braking point and rear-ended someone? Now deal with steering, suspension and engine problems as a consequence.
It's a guilty pleasure imo.
Don't forget the first 2 Flatouts!:)
@@jamesvancam Wreckfest is basically Flatout 3. But its nice you mentioned it, childhood memories man.
@@jamesvancam you forgot the best one, Ultimate Carnage
@@s_for_short2400 shii, I did
17:06 For those wondering how far that goes, Cobalt Motorsports and BeamMP have expanded the game to include online multiplayer with surprisingly good sync despite the insane amount of data each car has, and added dynamic weather with rain physics, pit stops, different tire compounds and tire wear, SIMHUB style radar, enforceable race flags, nearly everything you could want from a racing sim!
Yes, also the developers never fail to impress.
Well hello there!
really? cool but im still waiting for official multiplayer since im pretty sure the devs know they can do it know because i allways have problems spawning cars and stuff in beammp
In the last updates BeamNG Drive has become a very good game to race a car. Ok, not a Assetto Corsa yet, but in older versions that was almost impossible, and now you can pick a SUV and race it nearly to the limits.
You know you can just modify any of them to race
@@stdhttps yes but stuff like tire physics made it feel like you were on ice, recently they increased grip which means you can turn corners faster.
@@dnt_alert5806 Understeer and bad steering sensitivity is still a big problem at least for me, maybe its issue with my wheel because on some cars i need to turn wheel a lot just to make slight turn on car, but i got used to that. Since this game at first wasn't even in plan to be a sim, I must say that it has gotten really great now. You can call it a sim, not a best one but surely not arcade game at all.
@@hellhound320 I don't have any of those problems that you just sayed
@@joaopinto5850 I say it could be just me, but BeamNG definetly has more understeer than other games. At least with modded vehicles.

bruh the title Say RACING GAMES beamng is a game made for crashing cars and this is a top for RACING games not CRASHING (ik beamng it's a sandbox but it's mostly used for crashing cars)
@@pipipupu1964 Beamng is a racing game, it just simply has soft body physics, also; just because all that everyone (read: CZcamsrs) does is crash, does not mean that the game is just that, the latest update changed the tyre model heavily and the cars handle much better now
@@pipipupu1964 Wrong. Beamng is one of the realistic simulations out there.
@@pipipupu1964 beamng wasn’t made with the intention of just crashing cars, it was made to be a realistic simulator.
Kinda suprised that you didn't show Codemasters first serious engine for damage detail like Race Driver Grid, had solid damage system, the frame bending the body pieces falling off, if you hit the side hard enough, the entire body frame would bend.. for 2008 that was pretty good for awhile back. That damage engine did follow up for the rest and improving the engine (Dirt Rally/F1). Just wanted to say something about it, because RDG had a really enjoyable damage engine, beautifully destructable.
Yep, i thought it will mention grid at some point

Grid was top notch. 👍👍

Burnout and the Flatout series too
@RaPulsion First and second Grid and both Shifts have pretty good damage models and i’ll mention GT Legends,GTR 1 and 2 as well-old games, but with great damage models.
Wow your intro brought back so much memories from 2012 and the music when you start talking this soooo 2011 on GT5 ❤️❤️
The only last thin BeamNG lacks in terms of visual damage is paint scratches. But i agree its the best.
With the new update they added pbr so it will have paint scratches/dirt soon

Good video, nice to see two of my favorite fun racing games: Wreckfesf and Burnout.
The motorstorm series has amazing damage models, (pacific rift especially) the amount of detail on the cars and other vehicles is still a sight to behold for a series that came out in the early ps3 era
Pacific Rift is an obscure game that I'd like to play again, but it doesn't even run on emulators, so I'd need to get my hands on an actual PS3
We all knew what game number 1 was gunna be😂
GTA IV's damage model is my personal favorite.
*I gotchu homie!*
What about prostreet?
And the driving model in GTA overall.
@s1mple Roman, I should nave never read on your fucking E-mail's!!
Same
First "Colin McRae: Dirt", "Race Driver: Grid"... They have amazing damage model!
We *ALL* waited for Beamng, right?
Aw, if you had considered older games Carmageddon 2 might've had a chance. It's one of the rare games where you can get your car split in half and still drive it, while the game takes into account how the car's weight balance has been severely changed.
Yep, that and 1nsane (it had soft-body physics and damage in 2001)
@@artoodiitoo and slrr

Problem is, slrr is very unstable, it can crash itself for no good reason
@@bitelaserkhalif You can literally end your whole carrer in one crash in SLRR, lol
Carmageddon II was impressive for its time, even today I love its physics
Awww... Shieeet, you remade my favourite NFS's intro so nicely 😱
Already liked, I don't even have to watch full video 💓
I really like that your patreon screen is a PS2 demo disc menu. Really brings back some nostalgia
I think Street Legal racing: redline deserves a special mention to. it is basicly a car mechanic simulator with quite alot of racing content. the racing mechanics could be a little bit better but the damage model i quite realistic. like engine loss on high speed impact. you can basicly loose every part you put on you're car and you can even damage any part inside you're engine by overtuning it. i think thats quite amazing for a 2003 game.
some team has it on steam been doing some updates to it.
The intro is so nostalgic
NFS MW 2012 man that game was great
@@legm5298 yeah
Really cool video.
Nascar 2003 (the last one made by Papyrus before EA killed it) was quite amazing with mecanical damages.
It had gearbox damages, you could blown the engine with high rev or overheating, dirt on the windshield with tires smoke and oil leaks, tire heat and damage simulation also it had randomly generated engine and gearbox faillures.
Yo awesome intro. Really brought back some nostalgia.
Just imagine, BeamNg damage plus r factor 2 tire model plus ACC engine... Besides killing your CPU with physics calculations, that would be one heck of a racing game...
And with gran turismo graphic, what a perfect game
it will most likely never happen sadly, unless the three developers come together, my fingers are crossed!
17:30
"I hope the developers will improve the graphics because this game deserves better graphics"
Well, the developers just added a new Ultra preset which adds more lighting effects, and they added PBR textures to the game + they've been doing remasters of some of the vehicles and adding full-quality interiors + making the exteriors look even better, and giving them better damage models.
this game is awesome
This new intro is just EPPPPPIC! I love it so much!
15:48 Thanks man I had a question on this in my mechanical course. Legend
Anyone who’s heard of beamng already knew it was gonna be in first.
you are spittin' facts
Im extremely happy wreckfest is number 2, considering how fun it is to race and derby in it.
Wow, I've been waiting for a video like this for years. Definitely wasn't disappointed. 10/10. I will say, on another note though, that BeamNG.Drive's graphics don't need improvement, if they're improved anymore than they already are, the game wouldn't be able to run on mid tier gaming PC's.
dude, you're a master in editing video and audio. I know your channel for quite a while ever since uploading just gran turismo stuff. keep it up and I hope your skills land you in a successful career.

I got goosebumps when I saw BeamNG
Really glad to see GTA4 get a mention there. The multiplayer racing component was so much fun. In the 'GTA Race' mode you could pick up weapons and shoot your opponents tyres out or drop grenades at the players behind you. It took me two years to get that Auf Wiedersehen Petrovic achievement because I was a bang average player. GTA5 just wasn't the same. I have a few GTA races uploaded to my channel including a Cannonball Race that was the 5th best time on Xbox live.
Great, I enjoyed watching it!
THAT INTRO....
NFS MOST WANTED 2012 ALERT
I really enjoyed the first Grid game that came out. Thought the damage system was pretty great for its time.
I just want to add that Colin McRae Rally 3 (released in 2002) had probably the best damage system at the time: you could detach EVERY parts from doors to the exhaust. You could also snap the antennas by rolling over the car on the roof. For me it was unbelievable and they also made a tech demo about it.
Nice most wanted 2 intro man! Love it
I haven't seen it anywhere in the comments, and it was not on the video, but BeamNG has a mod for multiplayer. Realistic races, here we come!
MW 12 intro! I miss that.
Excellent editing brother
The content has been improving steadily as you've been making videos. I enjoy how much you seem to put in. Only suggestion I have is to try and level out all the audio in editing. Its jarring having some of the bits be so loud.
Most realistic damage which I ever played was “Street legal”
What about beamng drive??
@@pixistix_ it’s a first place in this vid)
@@alextko3316 No, I'm asking why are you saying Street Legal is better than BeamNG with crash physics?
@@pixistix_ “which I ever played “
Nobody talked about NFS Pro Street
Only has Visual damage, but could have been an Honorable Mention
For the time its visual deformation was excellent and the audio felt very responsive. However, mechanically speaking the damage wasn't really there, just light damage, which doesn't really affect anything, & heavy damage, which just reduced your car's power by like, 20 HP or something, an insignificant amount. The wheels also could not be detached in-game. Rolling the car over will also total it instantly so long as the roof makes even the briefest contact with the ground. The wheels also have way too much resistance when rolling, and impacts with the ground during could remove body panels, but cannot deform the actual mesh. Overall it looks nice, but its competitor at the time _Race Driver GRID_ has it beat by a large margin.
@@CaptPatrick01 Light damage is meant to reduce your aero and horsepower by like 10% and heavy damage by 50%
However for some reason these don't work in game meaning all damage is purely visual
@@CaptPatrick01 it' still better than in PC2 imho xD
Why nobody talking about paradise city!?! :(
Thank you. Very profesional presentation. The best I found on website! 👍
Viper Racing should have gotten a quick mention. The game is ancient, but its damage model was absolutely brutal and revolutionary for the time period. Also, the easter egg feature "Hornball", which allowed you to shoot other cars with a cannonball by honking your horn, was hilarious.
I waited the whole vide just to know that i was right and BeamNG is the King of car destruction
before i click this video, i know Wrecfest and beam.ng drive is top2.
I love how you used granturismo 5 music, and nice video
Very nice video. I think you can mention Race Driver GRID in your top👍
I need a very realistic damage game
Cuz am gonna be crashing alot
Viper Racing, hit smoosly a wall by side, car will be wrecked
Love the GT5 background music in start of the vid!!!
An honourable mention in my opinion is Insane (1nsane), an offroad racing game from 2000. It has better damage model than some modern games. A fun challenge that I used to do was to finish the race without repair.
You should have included Racedriver grid ! You could see the wheels fly off the car. Mechanical damages and visuals were pretty accurate and it's a quite old game. I am really surprised you didn't mentionned it !
Awesome video as always!
One thing, damage has the accent on the first "a" 😁
holy cow that intro just gave me so much nostalgia
I absolutely love Wreckfest...it's funny when you want to wreck and crash,it's totally adrenalinic when it comes to real clean racing...every car drive in a completely different and unique way,and the setup will make an huge difference on the race
I cannot wait for dirt rally 3.0. Nice video
Omg that Ps2 Demo CD menu in the beginning 😍
Burnout 2 will always have a special place in my heart because of its crash physics, it looked quite ahead of its time!
i've played burnout paradise, and its BEAUTIFUL, not only the crash physics, the game, cars, that arcade sense while driving, super super fun to play.
For honer mention I'd add Crash Time: Autobahn Pursuit, while very arched, the visual damage is still very good, especially the plastic panel on car can broken but attached and floppy around, that effect in some way look even better than simple deformation on BeamNG.
I love how the intro for this channel was NFS 2012 love that game
Very nice video ! 👍
I remember always crashing on Burnout 3-Takedown.The damage is really good for a PS2 game back in the day.
BeamNG is so realistic that I perform Crash Tests on it. With a crash test dummy, it really looks amazing. Cheers man, great top 5.
Beamng isn't a racing game
@@anne7861 well no but also yes, there are time trials and scenarios where you race
@@ThomasFarquhar2 you can also set up your own races. It definetly counts as a racing game.
That NFS Most Wanted style intro was awesome!
the intro, patron page and music made me legitimately die of nostalgia
Love the music from the beach level in Monster Truck Madness
Some people forget about need for speed shift 2. EPIC advanced system! Especially if you re-enable some of the disabled advanced things like fuel and leaks etc.
The first game I fell in love because of the damages was Mobil 1 Rally. A 1999 game that I still play sometimes.
new intro is gold.
Viper: Aight imma fuck up this car real quick.
7:05
Viper: Danm. Why am I so good at stunting.
BeamNG is such a game, you can't get bored. It has really a ton of content and possibilities, but as a player who's experienced a lot on the game, I can clearly say it's got a long way to go till fully optimized and accurate simulator with decent drive model. Recent update improved the handling, but it's far off to compare with a racing game. They can add body paint scratching algorithm, mesh tearing and much, much more fun stuff like a bumpy track for the square tires.
One of the coolest mechanics not spotted by many is sinking, literally any surface has sinking no matter is it concrete or mud and to prove that just look how as you crash with high speed into a wall, the parts go inside the wall the faster this impact was which is an awesome optimized alternative way to simulating deformation on non-deformable faces.
Nice review :)
OMG THE INTRO(MW12 WAS MY FAVOURITE NFS I WAS 8 AND I HAVE SO MANY MEMORIES OF IT)
I mean Wreckfest is here, but the FlatOut games (except the 3rd and maybe the 4th game) have some great car damage too, both when it comes to visuals and how the car will drive after a certain amount of damage taken of the car's (health), the car will start smoking, lose one tire and then explode. And we can't forget about the ragdolls =))
14:00 man, the music they add to the videos on the update logs hits different
