      Hi Tilly.
In the last 4/6 weeks, you have bought an incredible amount of food.
I understand you are stocking up, where on earth do you store it all?
I imagine a freezer of the kind you find in Iceland stores and a pantry bigger than my garage. 😋

@@gazza9463 HAHA I have not bought all that food for just us, and we actually only have a small store cupboard and a small freezer at the moment, I had planned to give 10% of the 2 big shops we did to the food banks, but we ended up passing much more of it on than that... and we also have aaa big family, so there are always hungry people to feed... but that's ok as it was bought with money we didn't expect to have. One day I hope to have a big store cupboard, but that day hasn't arrived yet! 😂😂

@@rootofavalon3841 I totally agree. I truly think, why spend more when you don’t need to whether you can afford it or not. We usually shop in Aldi and have always found the quality just as good as the brands. Shopping the cheaper brands leaves more money in our bank for other things.
I’m loving the just essentials range cos I’m saving even more money 🙌🏻
The money we saved on shopping this week we are off this afternoon with my 8 year old so he can fill a small trolly for the food bank. Shopping expensive brands wouldn’t leave room for us to do this in our grocery budget.
Also, it’s my dads birthday soon and he doesn’t want a cake so the money we budgeted for that we are adding to our leftover food budget so we can buy more for the food bank.

Amazing, I've tried a few of these and have stocked up as the quality is much better than I was expecting. I think that the likes of Sainsbury's will be feeling the lack of custom through their doors as a result of people discovering this range. I have no sympathy for them, as when food prices started to rise, they were always the first to hike the prices quite sharply compared to others. I wonder what they will hit back with and whatever it is, it needs to be better than their old rubbish basics.

Hello, 👋 I can highly recommend this range, there have been some items that we didn't like, but that is just because of personal taste... such as the white lasagne sauce, but their curry sauce is excellent. I think other supermarkets will be watching what happens very carefully!
I also dehydrate the veg, we've only just bought a dehydrator, so the first time I did it I put it in from frozen because I had watched tutorials and they did that, but since the first batch I've always defrosted and pat dry with a towel first.❤️💕xx

Yeah, we've had our Dehydrator for about a Year now, an Andrew James one, but our Ninja flip does 1 shelf too, (Our old second hand one conked out.)
Yes, definitely defrost them, it speeds it up a bit, & less puddles. Do you have a Vacuum sealer, that's how I store mine, in the bags that come on a roll, they take up less room than Jars do. Glad to find your channel, not many in the UK. Take care of you and yours Tilly. 🤗❤🙂🐶

I have got a vacuum sealer, it gets used constantly and really helps us save some money by keeping food fresh for longer, as well as being used with the dehydrated foods after they have been conditioned. 😍I really enjoy food prepping, so it's a hobby that also feeds us as a family... winner winner dehydrated dinner!! 😂😂❤

@@rootofavalon3841 Yeah, we get maybe 2-3 tablespoons of Water in the base of ours, it doesn't go on the worktop or anything. I've heard a few get that, doesn't seem to effect it though.
Vaccuum sealers are a brilliant money saver aren't they. Don't know if you like Mushrooms, but I get ready sliced Mushrooms, for the same price as whole ones in Aldi, they go straight in the Dehydrator, quick & easy, haven't tried powdering them yet though.
I Love food prep too, I make Sauerkraut, Kimchi, Bread, & we Homebrew too.
We don't have a Garden, just a Balcony, but I grow up & over the railings, all my Herbs & Salad stuff, & I do Hydroponics & Grow Microgreens indoors. Needs must & all that. 👍🌱

Yes I know, I really feel for you guys with the price rises going on. Although our fuel costs are astronomically high now, and rising all the time.

@@rootofavalon3841 so sweet of you! We, for the moment will have no interruption of heat this winter, but heating oil prices are insane. I'm sure some folks will struggle. In most northern states, it is illegal to turn off heating during the winter. This will leave most with massive debt come spring.
Control the expenses you can, keep storing food and essentials. Keep your chin up. Stay well, stay safe!!

I've shopped at Asda for so many years but I only really buy basics and this year my shopping has nearly doubled in price for the same basket. You might think this is just inflation but did you know that Asda along with most of the other supermarkets have made record profits every year. Aldi is a bit cheaper than Asda but even they have made a 400% increases in profits just in this year. Also Asda like the rest have been keeping the fuel price 40p\ltr above the retail price level for months now. Makes you think how greedy do they have to actually be?

I can’t see why people pay more for branded goods yes some foods may taste different but only because they have more additives in them ?? This can trick the mind💭into thinking there better but trust me there not … keep buying the brands … save money and put. The top brands out of business 😀😀😀

I think if more people tried the cheaper brands they would see how good they are these days! Also, the bigger named brands are the ones that are having the biggest % prices increases right now too, they're just going to price themselves out of the market for most people.

Hello, yes they do have a fish pie in the Essentials range, it's £1.45 and is 400g. I haven't tried it yet, although the reviews seem to suggest that it doesn't have much fish in it, but it does have nice sauce and potato. 😃 xx
