Police have stepped in after footage from the World Snooker Championship emerged of a spectator appearing to nibble on a boy’s ear.
Stephen Hendry was speaking during a break at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield on Thursday, when a man in the background leaned into a boy’s ear and spoke, before seemingly biting him.
The clip went viral online, and the tournament confirmed that it was “now a police matter”.
South Yorkshire Police responded in a statement: “We are aware of the footage and officers will be reviewing the content.”#truecrime #downtherabbitholenews #earbiting

It’s crazy because a lot of kids are going through this in their own homes.

If a kid grows up with this, they won't like it, but they won't know it's messed up or abnormal. If the kid didn't react, it means he's used to this behaviour and like you said who knows what goes on behind closed doors. The pervert got cocky. I wonder what he does for work, he seems unafraid of the consequences. He's acting like he's untouchable.
The kid knows to not react in public because he'll get it bad at home. He knows exactly how he should act around his abuser in public. It's really sinister!

The Wayfair thing was cabinets or something with a child's name or something if I recall correctly? It's been a while. I wasn't sure if anything came of that once it was brought to light. I guess I'll have to look into it again.

I am 15 years older than my brother. Basically raised him. He was with me 24/7. I would never be nibbling on his ear. If he was kissing him on the cheeks or being silly that's no issue. I used to blow "raspberries"on his face till he was about 4 or 5. After that he didn't want nothing to do with that.

The saddest thing to me is the little boys non reaction, it’s like a totally normal thing to him when seeing this gave me nightmares. I hope they removed this child friendly the custody of this sick man but sadly I have little hope that the police even care about children being abused.

It’s almost like a stunt you’d do to your girlfriend circa 1985, just to embarrass her on live tv. However, given it Appears to be a teen boy, and done by a man, it’s very inappropriate. The look in the man’s eyes does not seem fatherly either. The fact that the kid is not embarrassed or doesn’t jump in shock from the interaction is the super concerning part. Hopefully this will be thoroughly investigated. Thanks for explaining about how these live events can have underlying activities.

It’s not right for a child of that age at all especially in public, in a large event on camera. That’s disgusting. When my babies were little I pretended to eat their toes, ears, necks and fingers to get them to giggle or settle down after a bath, diaper change or when they didn’t feel well. It comforted them, sometimes they would put their foot in my face to get me to do it while they’r were giggling, it was a game. Heck my daughter wouldn’t fall asleep when she was sick whiteout being held upright with her head on my shoulder and me softly kissing her neck till she was 3-4 (or her laying on my lap and me stroking her eyebrows, noes, ears or lips until she was 7 AT HOME). But, they grew out of it, and it was at home or with grandparents. My 3 boys would have probably more than flinched (if you know what I mean 🥊) ANYONE at that age if they did that in public on camera! It’s inappropriate at home or in public. Even when my boys were that age and sick they still wanted comforting and we still showed appropriate affection, IMO that’s not comforting, appropriate affection or innocent playing at that age.
Heck all my kids are grown and they all still hug me when they see me, we’re an affectionate family. But not like that!

@@jollyroge5835 exactly. The first thing I thought was that child is way too old for “baby num nuns””, but way too young adult teasing. My husband and I still nibble each other’s ears before or after a kiss, 30 years ago it was very sensual and lead to the bedroom every time. This man and boy seem like my husband and I (comfortable with each other without intimacy “having” to happen “right now”, but you know it’s gonging to happen when you’re in private!) that’s the most astonishing part! I know other mothers may treat their children differently and younger then they are affection wise but I’m not sure about dad’s. Don’t they usually want “little men”, especially if they’re at a sporting event?

The main aim of the game is to Snooker (spoken Sn(ew)ker not Sn(u)cker for those still wondering) the other player so they can't get out of it. I did noticed that the boy and 'man' were staring at the camera before the sick act as zoomed into a clear video It looked far worse when zoomed in I know looks can be deceiving but the boys reaction and the creepy way he did it must be looked into because even innocently done why did the boy not react at all...not right that
