Thank you.....a great video🇨🇦
No, no, no… thank YOU for watching! :)
Fun times. Our first boat was a Catalina 22. When I was young I could step the mast by myself after a few times at it. I remember the first time five people helped. Incredible adventures like Op Sail 1986, Annapolis to New York. Yes! Towed it a bit, why a great boat!
We loved her and unfortunately didn't own her long enough to get to enjoy her. If we knew then what we know now about sailing, we would have had a lot more fun back then. To think how terrified I was sailing her back then and now we are sailing a boat twice the length and width... lol Thanks for watching our episode!
i added 20ft steel 2" tube tongue extension on my trailer using a 2" hitch socket, put an 8" swing up support wheel on my trailer tongue and bam! into the water😄
Smart! I thought our Jeep was going swimming!
So you have a deck-stepped mast, and portion on top of the cabin ( bracket) is called a castle (perhaps another name in other parts). Looks like every one is having a good time, is important. And boat looks sharp! BTW, watch turnbuckles on the shrouds so they dont catch or bend. I have bent a few. I always get nervous stepping a mast the first time of the season.
Thank you so much for sharing the boat launch. I have a French boat Gib Sea Serenita 55 and we are taking your example to adapt the trailer in a similar way !
Oh that’s fantastic to hear! Please come back and let us know how it goes.
Great job on this video, very creative, really enjoyed watching it.
Congrats on finally getting into the water! Before you know it raising the mast will be piece of cake every time, go slow and watch for hung shrouds, misaligned turnbuckles. Happy sailing!
Thanks so much ~ I am glad we finally got to the part of the videos where we actually sail ! Well, that's an overstatement... we somewhat sail.... you will see some pretty chaotic attempts at sailing in future episodes. LOL
Well done
Should not disconnect winch until u r in water
agreed. thanks for input.
@@sailingokaliptus I usually back into water partially then disconnect winch . Then finish backing in fully.
@@hansjas Good advice. We watched a guy almost lose an Santana 20 off the trailer bunks because the trailer tipped and the boat started sliding backwards. It could have been ugly. ugh.
I can't watch it anymore, you putting Donovan down too much
We think we make a pretty good team with our own faults and imperfect marriage. Thanks for stopping by and giving us a shot.
