I'm pretty amazed at the lack of any type of driving knowledge in these comments. lol. Anyhow, yes fox mustangs are known for having semi loose steering racks causing a little bit of play but the actual sawing of the steering wheel in this video obviously is to keep it in a semi-straight line down the street due to over-powering the tire. Anyhow, awesome car. If I remember right this is a 306 with a 66mm and small head it made something like 700 lb-ft
I remember seeing the video from the yellow Mustang, but can't find it anywhere now. It shows the acceleration of this car so much better. When he hits 3rd gear... pulls like a mother... IMPRESSIVE!!!
Love this video! Would love to know what turbo set up and motor mods he had on this beast. Hearing that turbo spool up increases the flow of blood to my genital region!
Right, haven't watched this video in awhile! Always wanted to be driving that car and now I own an 87 notch with a complete termi swap, twin 58/58's and banging gears in a t-56 magnum running 110 octane on the street. After I race people they always say they loved the smell haha
@@martin1234512345 My point is it doesnt have much left in it if any if its on stock block. And if you cant drive a car with more than 570 hp without dying you dont need to drive a boosted car to begin with. TURN IT DOWN FOR TE STREET OR YOU WILL DIE. Thats laughable.
Man this brings back memories... I was there! Camera car is a '93 Cobra with a mid-size single turbo, I think it was a 67mm. 5-spd with a lot of tire. This Cobra regularly did mid 600's on the dyno and ran mid 10's @ 130's at our local track, which is at 5500+ ft DA all the time. It was a no-BS street car that you could expect to see rollin around on a friday night.
Well my brothers 5.0 is at 550-580. On his 7th year. Still runs good. Never drag races it. Did about 50 or 70 zero to 140mph runs. Its in a cobra kit tho. So almost 800lbs lighter than a mustang. Its fast..
My 88 fox has 347 w/67mm precision makes 643rwhp 710rwtq and has literally every street/strip suspension upgrade front and rear with 275/60 DRs and it is almost impossible to find traction under 65 mph. Its only running 14lbs for the street on 93 oct and is my 5th fox body and im 38 so yes i can drive yes its setup right and thats why i hate all these vids of 1000 plus rwhp cars that just miraculously find traction on the street. It bullshit. In the real world my 2900lb 643rwhp car is a fucking handful on the street. Until u drive one dnt talk shit. Everyones got a 1000hp on youtube.
they are a handful on the street, once the turbos and superchargers get involved is when it gets to be a little much for driving on the street, even for experienced drivers
+Jason D Sanders- Yea People saying he needs front end work or the rear needs to be tighter have never driven a stang with any mods, they get squirrely Quick after 400 hp...
I believe there was a magazine article on this car years back and other than the 570 rwhp it made 733 rwtq. It made peak hp at something like 5200 rpm so this would be a heck of a street car. If it made that same torque at 7000 rpm it would be a 1000hp motor. This is no doubt a powerful ride.
I can't believe all the people saying this guy can't drive. They are so used to their FWD Honda Civics that they don't understand what RWD muscle does. This car is AMAZING. I hope to have something like it one day. A true beast. Probably runs 10's at the track.... with traction, that is.
Finally, someone who realizes what's going on. Not only is the ass end light, the whole car is light. It would be a wild feeling stomping down on this thing. And I don't know how many of you have ever driven turbo cars, but it's a different feeling than NA. When the turbo spools, NOTHING stops the engine except a thrown rod, etc. A V8 turbo is just *drools*...
FYI guys, the car he was racing was a nitroused Fox coupe. This car is a turbo'd '93 Cobra. The other car was driven by a guy named "Sherbring", hence the "what's up now Sherbring?!" in the vid, LoL. This was shot just up the street during one of our dyno days. Pretty crazy!
while i will never condone street racing, this guy is driving the fuck out of this car. Those that think he isnt have never had a high horsepower car or just watch to much youtube. This guy has 570 whp on 255 wide tires and was able to keep it between the ditches.. Very talented
Go back and read MM&FF March 2004 "10 second stock block" This is Anthony Dickson's 93 Cobra with an HP Performance Stage 2 turbo setup. In this video the car was running a WC T5 and 28x10.5 M/T ET Drags with suspension upgrades. Car runs 10.30's-10.40's @130+mph.
judging by the clip, this was the perfect time and place, kept it forward, didn't hit anything, controlled the throttle, not to mention pedestrians love to watch! you know since it wouldn't be fair to comment on his actions outside this video
hey guys im the passenger in this video n i would like to clear a few things up.. 1st WOW 713k views.. haha damn anyways 3 years ago we uploaded this so my uncle in Nebraska could see the car in action cause he was interested in buying. thats why bill said excuse my language..... 2nd i said this is only 570 HP meaning wow it feels like alot more....not meaning wow thats not alot.. 3rd bill is an amazing driver, if u only knew how this car threw u in ur seat.... hard to tell with a mounted camera
Yep. Money = Speed. Generally speaking, starting with the largest engine that will fit in your car is the easiest/cheapest way, though. Starting with a small engine is like a professional boxer cutting off one of his arms and having to train 10x harder to be able to fight as well as most boxers with 2 arms, just to show the world he can beat people up with 1 arm.
The driver of this 93 Cobra has been in MM&FF magazine and has driven more 7 second Mustangs than you can imagine. This Cobra has a stock block 5.0 with an HP Stage 2 kit and a shitty T5 trans. Car runs low 10's @ 132mph. I guarantee you Anthony Dickson can and will outdrive most people that line up next to him. (MM&FF March 2004)
I'd ride with this guy any day. If you have never driven a car with this power then you have no idea what a handful they are regardless of tires and traction or any other stuff you guys are suggesting. This dude can drive.
Suspension doesn' t matter with the power that car was making on the street. It's gonna go nuts either way. He has won numerous heads up race events from the PSCA down to local stuff, driving anything from 7 second turbo LX to this low 10 second car. Everybody misses a shift now and then...his driving is fine!
I like how people comment on how this car is gonna be wrecked... Its these same people that mouth off about being drag racers and owning fast imports. Its probable that most people dont know how to handle something like this. Most people think their all wheel drive eclipse with that little turbo is fast, and thats cause you dont know better. My mustang at 8 lbs of boost isnt shit compared to 11lbs. 2 completely different levels of insane. suspension is stock, control arms will help immensely.
It is/was an HP setup, 66mm turbo, and the car is a real '93 Cobra. Was originally a bolt-on show car so it has a lot of money in paint and body. It would go bottom 10s, IIRC it went a best of 10 flat.
@both you guys... the turbocharger was also used on aircraft to over come powerloss at higher altitudes... thats when they were first utililized on internal combustion engines.
my fox is about to have a a turbo coupe engine in it and this just makes me more anxious to have a turbo 2.3 i literally see like one fox a month so ill just have to race the vws and hondas aeound town hahah
He's jerking the wheel because he's trying to keep the car straight. Speaking from personal experience as well (owning/driving a car with 500+RWHP), it can be quite the task to keep it in a straight line when you can't hook up. :P
Youre right, I hear you, but to each their own. I bought suspension and brakes first, and then put power in it. But upper and lower control arms and a light weight k member on a stock 5.0 was boring. It would only spin the tires 8 feet out of the hole, and it ran 13s. - I understand safety but theres nothin better than crawling the car sideways, and if youre confident on your driving skills, then more power to ya. This guy had her the whole time.
Fuckin sick, this reminds me of the Cobra i got from my dad. 610RWHP Supercharged, Stroked, Heads/Cam/Intake, Full exhaust. Sold it and lookin for a MKIV Supra now, high hopes of having a quick 9 second street tune, possibly a high 8 strip tune with Slicks/C16 Race Gas.
guys not a bad driver at all that car is an animal and is making more than 570 wheel hes deffinately fibbing on that. if you have driven a fox body it takes alot of money to make them hook they're known for traction issues ive had 4.
Killer car i miss my old one def not as fast as this killa but I had some fun with it... 331 heads cam etc etc....I had the 5 speed for a while and it was a lot of fun but i made the switch to a manual c4 with a 3500 stall and never looked back. .... made my car faster for sure and i thought it was more fun than the stick as well
The car has a Posi and good supension work. It was on street tires on this video thou. It's just a BEAST and not anybody can handle it and take her for a ride
Still one of my favorite turbo Foxbody videos!. He definitely " F**KIN PUT IT ON HIM"!. 😉🤣
15 years later ... Sherman still knows he got it put on him
Sherbring
1:07 "WHATS UP NOW, SEBRING?" "you fucking PUT IT ON him!" lol
Wait he said sebring? I thought he said shermin lol
My right ear loved it

Legend has it, he is still getting it fucking put on him😂
That has to be the craziest light to light racing I have ever seen! @ :55 the guy walking across street had to stop and watch! Awesome!
Love that full boost sideways action towards the end!! What a ride...
What's up now Sherwin??? I FUCKIN PUT IT ON HIM!!!!
Josh Cassidy
shrivring
Still one of my fav videos
Mine too!!!!!!! Can't get enough of this =)
This guy knows how to drive. Anyone who says different has never driven or ridden in a car of this magnitude.

I think this was the first video I've ever seen on CZcams. Awesome. Fffn put it on him lol
+Sam Scornaienchi same LOL

Hope you are still enjoying the hell out of your Mustang good sir!. 🙏🙏🍻
"Excuse my language". LOL! I have watched this video a few times over the past couple years and that part still cracks me up. XD
I have watched this about 20 times and i still love it!! I laugh my ass off when the driver starts talking shit haha wicked car!!
This is only 570 hp lol Wtf do you drive buddy?! ( passenger )
No kidding! I’ve always thought that too. We thought we were hard asses getting up to 300+hp in our fox mustangs!
570 ain't much. He's most likely saying that because the car has a shit ton of power left in it. Turn down tunes for the street or you WILL die.
martin1234512345 unless it has an aftermarket block it’s at the limit. It’s a ticking time bomb at 550 and above. Block will split

That doesn't look so scary. More like a 6 foot turkey.
The good old days of street racing. Real cars and real drivers
With a car like that you get manny new friends. The people who sell you tieres, the man at the gas station, Cops...you know the drill XD

he can really handle his car well.
getting sideways through 3rd gear and let off because he thought...ayyyy that enough on the tires lol
im a tuner guy,, and i usually hate mustangs. But this one is sickk, absolutely love the sound man. maybe you should get some wider tires lol...
dang look at the steering wheel gettin all crazy.. a lot of power
It's called street drag suspension. Probably has 90/10 shocks in the front and no sway bar. Once it lifts the wheels, the car goes where it wants to.
Nice Engine! now give it some mini tubs and suspension.
guys not a bad driver at all that car is an animal and is making more than 570 wheel hes deffinately fibbing on that. if you have driven a fox body it takes alot of money to make them hook they're known for traction issues ive had 4.

Man you gotta be careful driving that thing on those streets.. sounds too powerful for em.

I hope mine runs as good as this one 👍👍👍👍👍👍
