  • Day 2 of our Greece adventures. We've spent an entire day exploring different neighborhoods of the city. First, we've started with Monastiraki. Lots of shops! Great time to pick up your souvenirs. Then we wandered through the streets of Psyrri - an artistic area of Athens. In the evening we went to Plaka, the oldest area of the city, to check out a local bar. Then we headed to a nearby restaurant for a feast where we also enjoyed listening to beautiful Greek music... What a day!

When Oysseus and Omiros ( Greek pronouciation) were living , 1200 BC, the mongol Turks were stiil living in their homeland, the steppes of Mongolia.
They invaded and occupied modern day "Turkey" in Byzantine times about 1300 AD. They have no civilization of their own.

Is this the only part of Athens where are still shops open?????, I saw a documentary about Athens were many people live on the streets, homeless, jobless, can t pay the bill s anymore,., shops are closed, because of the crises., only 4 or 500 Euro per month,., ., I have been here in the Plaka in 1982 during a Interrail trip one month through Europe by train,., we spend a few day s in Athens, very nice.,, can remember we eat fast food in a clock restaurant.

When, we Bulgarians go on a holiday in Greece - Greeks are very happy at taverns, souvenir shops and establishments that we are cash bringing Foreigners - u won't see a tax receipt - they pocket the €€€ - that's pure theft... In some places in Northern Greece - they are happy to get Bulgarian Leva - (€1 = 1,95 BGN --- 1 Euro=2 Leva ) they later spent in Bulgaria... Cigarettes, Alcohol, Clothes and Chocolate are much cheaper (for them) here in Bulgaria
