  • For my BirdBox project, i spent remarkably much time creating a reliable feeder of peanuts. Since i wanted to be able to dispense single nuts, or atleast very small amounts AND the fact that i wanted to be able to 'put a small tasty reward on display' for the birds i could notuse a simple solution to 'open a lid' för a short while an let the birds pick the nuts.
I tried several 'pet-feeder' designs with different sorts of feeder-screws, but the all jammed up after a while. Finally, i found this great vibrating feeder on Thingiverse from Viking Design www.thingiverse.com/thing:211...
I have added several extenders, funnels and opto-gates, and of course, a PWM capable motor-controller. Parts that can be found on www.thingiverse.com/thing:460... This video clip illustrates and early version of this feeder.

Please describe more how to initially get the birds to bring something back. Very very neat!

Woaah, this project is cool, sir!
I never think this will be possible to train wild bird like that. Out off the box.
