Man...i don't follow 66Samus that much-even though i know him, cool dude for sure!- but i just saw that and all i can i say is i can relate SO MUCH WITH THAT!
-Justice is also my favorite Metallica ever ✅
-Metropolis Pt. 2, being the very first album i bought 13 years old..just by its cover!(i don't know how many people did the same thing, we should gather and create a group about this )
What a music piece of art that album is..and i could care less about being a concept album, the music is just PHENOMENAL✅
-IOWA is also on my top 10 and i spent the summer of 2001 listening to that plus another classic from this list..✅
-Ashes of the Wake did the same for me back in 04..✅
-AND FUCK ME, in the summer of 2001 Puritanical along with Iowa introduced me to extreme blast beats!!perfect album and Nicko's signature is everywhere ✅
-Temple of Shadows it's a yes!The only album i own of them besides Rebirth-good power metal albums✅
-Necrophagist .....YES MAN!!the reason i can't stand all those new brutal death/technical bands out there is Sound of Perseverance and Epitaph.....Only Revocation is an exception!✅
      - Blink-182 is the only mehh case on the list..moving on❌!
-Death with Symbolic is an obvious choice but like i said, the Sound of Perseverance will always be THE game changer to me ,so...almost ✅!
I wrote a lot i know..that's my 'short' story reaction to this great list! Please, write yours below and... let the metal flow!!🤟🤟🤟

Gavin is in my all time favorites TOP 5. definitely. however, he is not so influential to other drummers. He is quite well readable, he doesnt have that kind of mystery in his plays, which makes you study it more time and more deeply, and even after long time you still dont get it. There are other drummers who got this. Also i think, you can play Gavin style quite easily, because he has got a few signature lines and he got using them so much.

Since you mentioned a death album I must to add that thier album individual thought pattern to the list. This album is incredibly underrated espacially when it comes to drumming. There are a lot of really mind- blowing stuff going on in this album. The problem is that the songs are not recorded very well, so the drums kinda dissappear in the mix thus it's easy to miss the really- tasty stuff. I really recommend to listen closely to the drums over there, it's a really fascinating experience.

I love this video so much! Our trajectories to new music were so similar.
I’ll never forget being an impressionable 18 year old and buying Iowa hardly knowing anything about it, I’d heard of slipknot but not much, the album cover had a huge explicit content sticker on it, almost the same size as the cd case, walking back to my mates house, and in the first 30 seconds just having our minds blown. It forever changed my musical landscape. Joey, Travis and Gene were gods to me for years.
I still go back to that era and listen to all those albums I was obsessed with, I don’t think I’ll ever stop, I love them as much today as I did then.
I’ve played all different styles of music, but I’ll forever be a fan of heavy music!

By the time Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia came out I had considered Dimmu to be the "Black" metal supergroup. Guitar player from Old Man's Child, bassist and singer from Borkngar, drummer from Cradle of Filth, all bands I had been listening to in high school at that point. Even still, I had the same experience listening to those first 2 tracks for the first time. That album is also in my top 5.
