Amanda would have been a much more interesting character if she had been Alexis' secret lovechild by Roger Grimes - it would have given her an edge. Making her Blake's daughter only served to confirm her as a transparent plot device to fill Fallon's role in the family.

alexis is wearing that outfit...stunning!!!...Catherine Oxenberg was well cast as amanda n fit in well.....her replacement was the xact opposite....looked way to mature and did not fit in n then was totally written out without xplanation along with michael.....the beginning of the end.

Well, she didn't want Amanda to know she was her mother. She acted as a benefactor to her, a friend ( or maybe a cousin )of a lady who was her guardian and was paying for all the education and all luxury, but then Amanda learned the truth and immediately flew to America. Oh, and no matter how cold it is, there are more suitable hi tec textiles to warm you, so that furs are left for innocent souls to whom God gave it to have for their bodies.
