  • More oversimplification and misdirection from Instagram nutritionists and dieticians that compare all calories simply by their numerical value and not by their composition and ingredients. This video highlights fly-by-night nutrition "experts" that focus on rudimentary arithmetic and not on the nuances of the individual, the larger message it sends to audiences, and the food quality itself.

But not unlimited and whenever and wherever you feel like. Sugar makes you feel good. it releases hormones that makes you feel good. Much like certain drugs do. It's an addiction like any other. I really wish the WHO would acknowledge processed sugar as a drug and food companies would be fined for putting sugar into everything. Even cold cuts have sugar! like wtf, why would you put sugar in meat products? It's everywhee and you get conditioned to eat it and eat more and more and more. And then on top of it you get other unhealthy ingredients, we are literally drowning in quick carbs.

Some one who binge eats should not eat intuitively because they will binge and continue the disordered cycle

The "little by little" calorie increasing worked well initially, but it didn't allow me to tackle my control over food and fear foods. I started Minnie Maud and it isn't binge eating. It's learning to eat without calorie counting. So at the beginning I would eat a big breakfast, morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack, and dinner (until I was satiated). Step 1: Learn the difference between a low quality calorie and a high quality calorie
Step 2: Eat less calories, considering current weight, ideal weight, and a realistic short term goal (5-25lb less than current, no more than 20% of current weight without a doctor's supervision for morbid obesity, BMI minus 20 in percentage is a reasonable upper bound), this reduction should be all low quality calories.
Step 3: learn macros, track macros, adjust every week or month
Step 4: increase exercise in all categories - cardio, resistance, with impact consideration for BMI's over 30, and avoid weighted jumping movements or sprinting for BMI's over 40.
Step 5: repeat until you hit your goal
Step 6: adjust for maintenance and maintain until you're an old fuck.
Step 7: be an old fuck. You made it to old age. Good work.

Wasn’t eating that many carbs near the tail end of prep but after the show, I started eating eating everything. And those simple sugar foods have been making me more hungry ever hour and a half.

I've watched a few of your videos now and I'm impressed with how consise you are and the research you do and I can see how this topic is a real passion for you. You care about the damage being done and you want to see people turn their lives around. I think that's why it's startling and abrasive to me when the videos begin and end with 'nuts on your chin.'
I feel like what you say you're saying cause you care about people like me (especially since I fight sugar addiction and have been trying super hard to eat clean and be fit--im proud of my discipline too and your videos super resonate with me) and then you say nuts on your chin and I think about sexual assault and my experiences with it and it makes me feel immediately unsafe.
I think you have lives of people like me who struggle with addictive food and want to get better in mind when you make your videos. You want people to get healthy and fit. I think you have good intentions but I also don't know if you'd respect me as a person if you'd put nuts on my chin.
And, idk, I guess if you think this is just some snowflake opinion I'd just like to remind everyone that 1 out of four 6 men and 1 out of 4 women have reported being sexually assaulted.
Anyways cheers! And keep up with the content. I really do enjoy your videos.

This is the artisan stuff which cost more than the bog standard bars of Dairy Milk. Hotel Chocolat sells six sample bags for £20 and there are nine chocolates in each or a small 'slab', as they call them. Seven of each for me, one of each for my mum, one of each for my dad. I get six samples once every three months and no way in HELL were they gonna get nicked!

I finally got back on track and have already lost a pound, and my stomach went back to normal. I figured out why it was happening. I addressed my problem and I fixed it. And today my mom brought home pizza, cheese bread and chocolate chip cookies. Some of my favorites but I told myself that I just had my own dinner and you don’t need that. Coming for years having anorexia and orthorexia at first I was kind of tensing at this judgment against people who do eat processed foods and this kind of virtuous stance fitness accounts have about intuitive eating. But I'm glad I continued to watch the video because you're not saying don't enjoy and indulge sometimes your just not endorsing this idea that this "intuition" these eaters feel is always accurate. I definetly found in my recovery I did allow myself to binge since it was uncontrollable during refeeding but after that I was so lost thinking my body would just stop gaining weight when it was ready.. This may be true for some but it wasn't in my case and since my hunger and fullness cues were so skewed from being underweight, having over exercised for years, and being nutrient deficient for so long it was really hard to listen to what my body needed. Anyways, my point is I agree with a lot of your points, we all struggle with food and figuring it out for ourselves, like for God sake I had to go to treatment for 4 months to help convince me I didn't have to eat 3000+ calories anymore since I was weight restored! But I'm happy to say I do know how to feed myself now and I do not restrict different food groups and need to be extremely "pure" or "clean" with my diet, but I eat super balanced and can actually trust my hunger and fullness! I do think these pages for people recovering from Ed's can be helpful but having a specialized dietician is a lot more accurate. Thanks for the video :)

The idea that peoples appetite won't lead them to overeat is part of the problem here, think about this, hardly anybody suffers hyponatremia from drinking too much water but nearly everybody is fat from eating too much food. Why is this? I think it is because you can't store water for later but you can store food-as fat- thus your appetite exceeds your present needs and you need to consciously limit your eating

    • @TheRainbowunicorn33
      @TheRainbowunicorn33 Před 5 lety

@@missano3856 good point. I definetly feel like if you have atleast some knowledge about nutrition, a meal plan and how many calories your supposed to eat (if calories work for you), and a dietician or some kind of treatment team then your set up for success. I agree that intuitive eating is kinda questionable, I have done it in the past when I was weight restoring and I ended up gaining a lot more weight then I had planned since I was eating a lot more than I needed.

Super high in calories and sugars. But I don’t usually have ice cream and I usually don’t have that much sugar in a day much less in one bowl. So I don’t get cravings for sugary things often.
The easiest way I got off sugar is whenever I had a “sweet tooth” I ate fruit. No sugar added fruit. Apples, peaches, strawberries. It satisfied my sweet tooth while pushing me out of my constant sugar craving
