‘Happened to my grandparents for different reasons’ daaaamn Phil
Oy vey...
Really enjoyed the edit on this one. The series keeps getting better. Keep up the good work Phil! (And crew!)
Phil, thanks for coming up to Vancouver to spend some time with us! Solid efforts, thanks for making me never want to time myself up any of the local mountains haha
Whoever does the editing always seems to nail the music. Kudos!
It’s like the Bloodsport of cycling
Pretty sure phil does it
"I don't think that's a smart idea, but that would be what were doing" -quality
Love this because I've been to Vancouver 3 times. I've ridden Grouse and Cypress. My times are roughly double Phil's so....yea. I've also been to the Musette Cafe. It's a must see place for any cycling enthusiast. Thanks for the memories Phil!
Myself and a friend did the triple crown 3 times in one day a couple of years ago, it took 13 hours and we were broken men afterwards.
Each peak 3 times or all just once?
@@fredfredrickson8892 the way its worded would mean 3 times up each peak. The triple crown is all three in one day
Why?
@@fredfredrickson8892 We did Seymour 3 times, then Grouse 3 times, then Cypress 3 times. Annoyingly it wasn't far off being an everest in ascent.
@@joshuaelliff2179 Myself and a friend did it 4 times...
I dig the 80s movie workout montage music...
Alright, I have never watched a road biking centered video before and I have to say... I enjoyed the hell out of this! Next time you’re in BC, grab a mountain bike and we’ll hit the trails 😀🍻
Thank you! You’ll have to wait on the downhills
I know im randomly asking but does anybody know of a way to get back into an instagram account?
I somehow forgot the login password. I would appreciate any help you can offer me
@Cohen Legend thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site on google and Im in the hacking process atm.
Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Cohen Legend it did the trick and I finally got access to my account again. I am so happy:D
Thank you so much, you really help me out !
@Trevor Ares glad I could help =)
Excellent edit, enjoyed the music and pacing of the video
Great riding out there Phil !
It's called a Pom-Pom on top of the toque.
Oh man that's perfect
Phil Gaimon I like the ring of "an awesome" better
I wore a similar Toque to an Arctic Monkeys concert and the lead singer and drummer pointed me out and had a debate about what the thing is called - they settled on bobble-top. (the audio of this exchange is somewhere). My costume for the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2010 Winter olympics also has a sweet toque with a bobble top on top - that would be a humblebrag...until you google audience leader costume for those games. Looked good on TV, not so much in person.
Bobble hat is the phrase we use in the UK, Aidan Mouellic
Or tuque in french canadian (Québec).
The chef lad has an absolutely quintessential German accent and it's beautiful.
This was the best one of these thus far! Good stuff.
the entire sense of humor in this video is perfect
Would love to see a full video of the Mt. Seymour KOM!
This video was awesome, and the music... like American Flyers! You played the role of David Grants character quite well.
American Flyers. Good call. What was there race? The hell of the west?
One of your best edited and produced vids
2:30 In Germany we call it Bommel!!
Love the 80s montage music. Great video, awesome effort.
Love this one! The music has a very Top Gun vibe.
Really enjoyed this one Phil, thanks!!
It's good to see you ride a climb I know, I now see how fast you really are. You should come back for the Glotman Simpson - cypress challenge next year and race the local up and coming junior racers (that don't do strava) Those kids are fast too.
For some reason, we called that kind of hat a toboggan. Fun vid, Phil. Looking forward to the longer versions with your commentary.
That's curious- Where are you from?
Best video yet! Keep up the good work.
Love the music. Cool video. Please have more like it
From Calgary here. But I recognize Musette Cafe in the beginning. Haha. 3 KOMs wow. Excellent. Enjoyed the humour too.
Is that the cool 80s American Flyers soundtrack in the background? Love it!
Awesome vid, thanks. Great achievement too!
Love everything about it! Makes me want to ride in Vancouver now!
Btw, what was Phil time on the last hill? Did he get the KOM?
I saw 4:34
It was hard to notice. They showed the time to beat first 5:03. Then very briefly his time at the end.
Great to see a video of Vancouver
John Tesh approves of this sound track. I half expected to hear a different Phil - Phil Liggett - commentating over the soundtrack as Phil The Thrill tackled these KOMs.
Vancouver is one of my favorite places on the planet. But I've never been there with my bike. Clearly I need to.
Phil, do you have a velofix discount code for your fans? thinking about calling one instead of taking a bike to the shop
Great editing. Loved the "cookie-wipes".
Love the 80s tunes
Really nice video- thanks!
B-roll is strong
Great video!! Made me feel like I was watching Anthony Bourdain.
Great video. Just what I needed
Dude, did you just meet your german brother?? :D
oh man, this episode made me laugh soo hard. Perfect way to close out a week of work!
Love the Cafe! one of my favs I have ever been to!!
this video is hysterical between the croissant, climbing, graphics and music. oh yeah, and Phil
The music reminds me of the background music in American flyers when they were racing the Coors classic
I was just thinking that now I want to watch American flyers!
Did I see a little Ryder Hesjedal cameo in one of the group ride scenes?
First time on the channel. Love the bgm. Reminds of of old 80s cycling vids
The music reminds me of dumbed down John Tesh Tour de France scores.
Nice 80's vibe to the soundtrack.
And maybe one of these days Phil could climb to the accompaniment of John Tesh with a keytar on the back of an ebike.
Triple crown KOMs - amazing. Next time you should bring a gravel bike and ride the gravel road to the top of Grouse Mtn for the ultimate triple crown.
Yeah, Phil you pussyfoot
Way to leave your mark in my backyard Phil. Hope you enjoyed Vancouver
this channel is the best thing on youtube.
Best video yet and I'm only a third through, also biased because this my home city. Great work! Great music and graphics.
Fun to watch riding the local hills. Head East and there are some even loooonger climbs. Coquihalla (1200m) Allison Pass (1400m). Despite being local and doing a lot of riding, I have only driven the triple Crown to go skiing in the winter... maybe this summer? BTW.. toques are GREAT when driving in a convertible in the winter, and skiing, and anything else in the winter
Best episode yet? Loved it
Phil, are the straps on your helmet thin and round so they won't make a lot of wind noise in your ears? Where can I get something like that? I hate the noise....
Camerawork was on point. Music was perfect.
Thomas Haas - great pastry, coffee and chocolates. Also can get "Powered by Chocolate" jerseys.
Great vid brother!
Take it to the limit, Phil.
We used to do all 3 on mountain bikes back in the 90's. Capital hill and out to Semour
OK, so you want a 🍪?
what's that cool in-sight display he is using?
What's the song used during the climbing segments? It's awesome!
Yup...adding Vancouver to the bikation list.
Definitely bring a mountain bike too. Gotta do both here :)
The ride to/from Whistler is amazing. 250km and back for after coffee and cake
Of course, none of the three mountains are in Vancouver.
Cypress is in West Vancouver, Grouse and Seymour are in North Vancouver.
The 80's vid montage music is choice!!!
In germany we call the ball on top of the toque Bommel (Bommelmütze). Funny but not as good as scheißen freude though
what is scheissen freude?
shit joy
Its called a pom-pom
Love it. I got Strava premium just to have live segments. I don't race so it is my racing. Got to want it hahaha. Great Job Lionel.
Shed to power lines, not shed to lookout.
Man those Cannucks are going to be pissed you took their KOM's 😂
Never! There will finally be a name at the top of Strava that I recognize.
Never. We love it. Way to go Phil!
Are you changing kit to bike between stages?
Why is the Cypress strava "only" to the Lookout Loop ? And to say you have done the full climbs you have to start at sea level although with traffic lights ect its very hard to measure a strava time.
A Toque is called a Bobble hat in the UK, with the thing on top being the bobble!
What is the fantastic music here? I have been searching online for Synthwave and New Retro Wave music and listening to hours of it, but can't seem to find this track. Please help!
Did the E-bike pace you on Seymour ?
Prediction, Phil will have his own TV (or Netflix or whatever is the new TV in 2019) show soon, or at least he should. You're a great presenter.
CZcams, CZcams is the new TV. Welcome to the platform.
@@Fixin-To lol gott eem lol
Au contraire.
I would love to see him on GCN!
Beatiful place, and a decent snack between your KOM´s !
I like German-Phil and America-Phil's energy - You should do another one together!
American Flyers soundtrack... Rad! Hold your line Marcus
what about the prospect point climb?
where is your new anonndale aerobike?
at 4:27 velofix guy is actually wearing his helmet properly. (tight straps, aligned) kinda the exact opposite of phil lol rarely see this. i'm ocd sorry.
Music* Elliot Gough - Dabarobics
Thanks for the static intro
Come to Collingwood Ontario. Long and steep climb
GCN Tech is watching this!
man i wish i saw u i live like an hour away from those mountains
What cafe is that in the opening interview?
Musette, a bike themed coffee shop
Is there a name for this thing on the top of a bobble hat?
Phil. You should ride the “dirty dozen “ race in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. It is the 13 steepest climbs in Pittsburgh and it is the Saturday after thanksgiving. Check it out. There are lots of videos on CZcams about it.
Dirty Dozen for Phil!
2:30 in Slovakia we call it Bambuľa read Bamboolya :D
11:39, check out the bee
Love the 80's movie montage music! Reminds me of mullets and the horrible High School P.E. shorts.
"The Phil" does not eat chocolate! "The Phil" eats cookies!!!
What’s the songs name?
In Australia, grouse means.........AWESOME!
(seriously)
That music, I need to go watch American Flyers now
THIS SOUNDTRACK IS FIRRREEEE!!!!!!
i always thought the triple crown was seymour, water, grouse, water, cypress.
I thought you were only taking KOM's from pros?
That's what the "elite" do.........tell you one thing, and then CRUSH ALL OUR KOM's!!!
And where's the enthusiasm for the KOM'S ?
In New Zealand the little thing on the woolly hat is called a Pom Pom ...no idea why
5:13 Track id please
