We watched and tested these guitars at NAMM yesterday. Also recorded a few video samples with real sound, without overclocking the software. It sounds really good. Really. But of course, it's best to try it yourself

From what I hear I think it looks great, sounds great plugged in. It seems like people are either for it or against it. Not much gray area from reviews so far. Great review Five Star! I’m for it. Something new and innovative with top notch technology from Fender and Fishman. It also seems as though it isn’t as important to be running the acoustic sounds through an acoustic amp or pa speaker like a normal acoustic guitar to achieve great acoustic tone.

It's a great guitar. Extremely versatile. It really allowed me to improve my show by including electric guitar to my solo set without switching guitars or lugging around my HRD or pedalboard. I run it into my Bose T4S and use the ABY switcher to select between tele and acoustic presets mid-song. With the T4S I can add Chorus, delay, Phaser, Flanger and/or Reverb to either channel and switch between channels using the ABY box.
Looks and sounds like Fender hit this one out of the park. An acoustic with that kind of sound and feels / plays like a Tele....humm. Think this might be a must have.

Check out Anderton’s both vids play it unplugged. It’s not going to sound like a full acoustic unplugged but definitely cool for jamming around in your living room if you don’t want to plug in.

Why is this thing and the Yamaha Silent guitar the best sounding acoustics I've heard in the last year, and they're not even real acoustic guitars? The excellent intonation and lack of undertones give it a truer than 'real acoustic' sound I guess. Very surprised. Fender may have a hit.

This is a very interesting take... Finally a thinline guitar cops a decent acoustic feel, but the electric isn't authentic... Its too rich (resonance)... It sounds nice, but not necessarily authentic. Overall, nice guitar. Looking forward to the Squier;)

Why does every demo run this through an electric guitar amp instead of a full range system like the Fender SFX or Loudbox, etc? I think that’s where it could shine (if it’s possible).

Question please : Do you plug it into an acoustic amp or does it fir with a tube amp?
You can do either, probably depends on what you want to do with it. If you want to use the Tele sound then Tube amp. But if you want to use it purely acoustic style the acoustic amps are best.

@@YesItsReallyKeith Absolutely! It is a lithium ion battery, on a full charge you get a little over 20 hours of use. There is a USB port right by the input jack all you need to do is plug in the USB to charge the battery there is no need to remove the backplate.

Steve LaCombe that is what I have heard. That isn't too bad for an American made acoustic guitar. I'm sure GC will have a sale. I would really like to play one. I prefer acoustics and I'm picky about tone. I'm thinking this is more a hollow body electric than a real acoustic.

It uses acoustic 11-52 strings. You could put electric strings on the guitar but it's not what the pickup is voiced for.

For the acoustic sound, we are taking the direct out from a Fender Fighter 12 PA speaker. For the Electric sound, we are going through a Silverface Princeton and a Wampler Tumnus Deluxe for drive. We are switching between them using an ABY box. Cheers!
FiveStarGuitars gender says the electric pickup is voiced to be played through an acoustic amp/pa/di etc almost every review gets this wrong !? Only one I’ve seen explain this and get it right is Andertons.

This guitar would be the one to beat, but unfortunately you have to charge it after every 20 hours of playing. That sucks a lot.

Maaybeee at under 1000, or max a grand instead of 2 grand, this guitar would be worth it. It does everything, but doesn't do anything good. Whats that phrase? Jack of all trades but master of none. That comes to mind with this guitar. For that price, you could have a great actual acoustic guitar AND a great actual electric guitar. Both of them will sound 10x better than anything this hybrid can do. Honestly I could see this priced at like $699 and that'd be a good deal. But for the price of two actual real guitars that will sound 100x better individually... this thing just makes no sense. Not that hard to take the 2 seconds it takes to switch to your electric or your acoustic during a gig. Hah. And you'll actually have proper guitars for their use....that actually sound good... hah. Don't get me wrong it didn't sound terrible at all but just not even close to good enough in any way for the crazy amount they're charging for it.
