Yes this country did change one of the reasons was you had young people who never did anything from an adult point of view protesting things and we went from a very patriotic or male-like society to the beginning of a very dominant feminist and feminine society one of the things Eisenhower warned was the teamwork and the combination of the university's and the military industry fast forward this is what's going on Fox News was founded based off the hypocrisy of left-wing liberal news journalists and they started with Lyndon Johnson and the Vietnam war but gained superpower when they took down Nixon

My dad was in elementary school when this happened, and everyone received a prayer card for JFK, as he was the first Catholic president and it was a Catholic school. He still has it somewhere.
There was pre-JFK and post-JFK, then there was pre-9/11 and post-9/11. The world would be so different now (maybe no 9/11, maybe no crazy conspiracy theories about tragedies, maybe we would still have faith in and trust our government) if John Fitzgerald Kennedy had not been killed.

I love Bobby Jr but he has to many conspiracy theories for me and I worry he will split the Biden vote and the monster will get back in office.

For those of us "Boomers" who've lived through and experienced this era in our history first hand, it is both a blessing and a burden to carry in our memories. This documentary analysis of the past 60+ years, is a fair representation and offers some perspective as to what we were privileged to be a part of, for better or worse.

When a president can bring hope and look for the greater good of the country in which he was elected ! That in itself gives the public hope as well ! I met J FK as a kid and believe me his insprations I admired then and still do today ! For what he told me told me at the time , You have dreams young man , but now make them your realities ! Only if we the people could back too that way of thinking ! Could or might make a better place in our time on earth . . Standup for who we are despite our enemies . That is find meaning of unity in the words United States of America by remembeing the words , ASK NOT what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country ! Think about it !

As a millennial in my late 20s, a part of me envies the boomers for being able to live through so many iconic social, political, and economic events. The birth of rock n roll and its worldwide conquest in the 60s and 70s of the music charts with the Beatles/Led Zeppelin; seeing the Cold War end as peaceful as it could have with fall of Berlin Wall and reunification; rise of Reagan; rise of Kennedy. You guys got a very compelling story in world history; desegregation, expanding voting laws, relaxation of stringent sexual norms via the sexual revolution; the decriminalization of public expressions of homosexual affection; etc. Of course “my time” now is compelling but I’m a way different way via the division of the liberals and conservatives and a war in Ukraine with accompanying double digit inflation. I love modern technology, but I’d give it all up to be born in 55 or 1960 to see all the changes you went through first hand. Boomers may be old in some young peoples eyes, but modern America is founded on your sacrifice and critical thinking to question the governements authority. Everything from computers, to self improvement with lifting weights, to promulgating woman’s rights to work (if they want to) all started with the boomers.

So True, I feel i have lived through so much, remembering the assassination as a little girl was devastating and to live through the divide of desegregation was most gut wrenching, the abuse the blacks endured was terrifying, the hangings, dragging, beatings and killings and then the President and the killings continued. I questioned what was it all about.... just simply giving rites to your fellow man. It seems it just continues.

And although it sounds like a cliché, I think a part of America died with Bob Kennedy in June of 1968!

Speaking of the assassination of JFK, there is a really good novel written by Stephen King called 11/22/63, which was adapted into a miniseries in 2016. This novel is about a man from the present day (played by James Franco in the miniseries) who uses a portal that takes him to 1960, being his mission to prevent the assassination of JFK and the entry of the USA into the Vietnam war. It is really curious to see the way in which he gradually adapts to the simple times of the 60s, not to mention that the story also features characters from other works of King, such as the children of IT and the Antichrist Randall Flagg, the main antagonist of The Stand and the Dark Tower franchise. The most curious thing here is that the idea of writing a story in which a time traveler tries to prevent the assassination of JFK comes from a casual dialogue from the horrible miniseries that King made in the nineties called "The Langoliers"

Technically, you can. (12:10) It was actually Senator Yarborough from Texas, who first referenced Camelot when he described in his announcement of President Kennedy's death that "Excaliber has sunk beneath the waves." Jackie took that allusion, and then expounded upon it.

My mother was pregnant with me when JFK was assassinated. I was born about 2-1/2 months later in February and for some reason I have had a great interest in his life and death story. I was also born and raised in Boston and now live on Cape Cod but I don't really think this has too much to do with my interest in JFK and his family. There is definitely something about him that draws you in or is compelling. Maybe it was camelot or maybe it was that he was much more than a handsome son from a very wealthy and privileged family. He was also very smart, well read, had great sense of humor and knowledge of history and he was human with some of the same faults and short comings that many of us also have.
It's also very sad how he died at such a young age with such a young family and even though the real truth is out there, in the many books and documentaries that have been written and told as to who was really behind killing this man, I hope some day the truth is officially and unequivically on record and let the chips fall where they may.
    Edit:
I wrote the above comment before watching this video.
I can't believe who they chose to comment in this video. There had to be better choices than Nancy Pelosi.
LBJ was at least aware if not a part of the assassination of John F Kennedy and Robert Kennedy and was most likely part of the coverup. LBJ was one of the most corrupt Presidents we ever had. You white washed LBJ's Presidency and who he really was as a man.

IMO : JFK would thought having his administration termed "Camelot" pretty amusing. His actual favorite tune was Won't You Come Home Bill Bailey" about a cheating Irish husband whose wife throws him out. He would have admired Jackie with creating the Camelot myth however.

Camelot….for sure. I was 16, a junior in high school, and President Kennedy gave my generation hope. Then he was gone. LBJ then went on to decimate my generation, morally, mentally and physically with the Vietnam war for his and his party’s gain. That would have not happened under Kennedy. Kennedy wanted us out of Vietnam. LBJ?? Pete Seeger said it best: The Big Fool Said To Push On.

My mom and dad were in school that day when they heard the announcement. Both of my uncles were in the United States Marine Corp. both were advisors in the early stages of Vietnam when they heard. Both my uncles survived Vietnam. And both of them have said they think the only reason Kennedy was assassinated, was because he saw the writing on the wall with Vietnam, and they both believe JFK was trying to get us out of Vietnam. And save face from that quagmire. And let’s be realistic. He was the last democrat who actually loved America. Which is more then I can say about democrats this day in age. And for the record. I still think there was a second shooter at the grassy knoll. Do I think Lee Harvey Oswald had a hand it?, yes. Do I think he was involved?, maybe.

No question Jack Kennedy was a good President and I’m a conservative Republican.
I also think had Robert Kennedy been elected as President, he would have made an excellent President.
I have my doubts about Ted Kennedy, I’m not sure he would have been as successful.
Thankfully Ted Kennedy served as Senator for I believe over 40 years.
Ted Kennedy was a remarkable politician and over the course of his career he made countless accomplishments.
I didn’t agree with everything Ted did.
But to his credit he was able to work with Republicans to pass very important bills for the better good of our country.
Ted worked well with Ronald Reagan and also George W Bush.
Ted also forged good relations with Oran Hatch the Republican senator from Utah and many other people from across the aisle on the Republican side.
Ted clearly did not like Jimmy Carter and that became plain to see.
Upon Teddy’s passing, I was sorry to hear about it.
He sure left an exceptional Legacy.

Following history, we just never fully recovered and just remained in a panic state since. Proxy wars etc just made a bad situation worse. Sigh.

It just seems to me that every time when the U.S. is in a dire situation, the presidency always finds its way to the best and most fitting leader for the time. But then every time, the great presidents don’t get to witness the fruition of all their work. And then it’s up to the people who are now united in their grief to carry the country to the finish line. Something so poetic and tragic about it.

I was in elementary school when JFK was assassinated. I remember watching the funeral on TV.
When RFK was murdered, I was in junior high school. My parents and I were part of the crowd that lined the RR tracks as the train rolled by.
I don't think Mrs. Jackie Kennedy attended the swearing in of LBJ out of respect. LBJ ensured she was front and center of that now infamous photo. She also wanted the world to see her covered in the blood of her husband. She was as savvy about TV, and public relations as JFK was.
