I'm a fashion photographer shooting with an X-H2 and my fellow photographers who shoot Sony are always impressed with what my Fuji can do.

I switched from Fujifilm XT-3 to Sony A7 IV. Can't go wrong eiher way, but if you want the stylish looks, the Fuji colors, and want great OOC JPEGS Fuji is for you. I switched because I wanted amazing autofocus, longer battery life, and better Image Quality. If you compare the XH2-S ($2,500) to the A7 IV ($2,500) you get way more from Sony because it gives you room to grow as the A7 IV is entry level and you can get more crazy performance from other more expensive Sony bodies (A1, A7R V, etc.) where you are already capped on performance on Fuji side.
you find A7 IV as an entry level camera? We here can't afford even the Alpha6400.
Dear Tudor, you said that B&W photos better from a7c. But in JPG or RAW? What camera bring better B&W photos in JPG straight out of camera?
I would say the jpegs in bnw are better with standard settings on Sony vs X-T5 standard settings (no adjustmens) - but with XT-5 you can get some bnw film jpegs SOOC that you can't get with Sony (just in editing). So it depends... Long term for bnw I would prefer a full frame camera.
Great video, thanks! I'm thinking to switch from Olympus to Fuji or Sony but I'm little bit confused. I don't like post production and I'm looking for the best jpeg realistic colors and best white balance. Another problem, with Olympus I have many many great lenses and it will be really expensive to have the same with another sistem.
I do bw, travel - night - macro photos for fun, sometimes still life for work (photos of paintings, works of art and fornitures).
What do you suggest?
Maybe remain in Olympus ...!!!

I would pick XT5 over A7C II as well.
I was a sony user from 2007. Started with sony dslr, ended with sony mirrorless when covid started. Sold all my gear. Friend of mine just borrowed a xt4 for me frw months ago, becuse he want to sell it. I fallen in love with fuji and keep shooting almost every day with the camera. With my sonys I just use them when had to work, or special occasions happened. The fuji is always around me, take it everywhere. Yes full frame better in some ways but if you know what you do, you can get same results.
Thank you for this video. I own the A7IV as well as the X-T5… have owned way too many Fuji bodies.. and IMO the X-T5 & A7IV are neck and neck for resolution with similar lenses. B&W from the X-T5 sensor looks amazing. I think the build quality of the X-T5 is getting a bit too much negative press.. I am build quality OCD.. loathed the dials of the X-T3 as they felt thin & tinny.. but the dials of the X-T5, while light, don’t feel cheap.. they have just as solid of a feel as dials on A7IV, Z6ii and other bodies I’ve owned. I once tested devices for a living.. I can be super critical when deserved but IMO it’s not deserved by the X-T5. I had no intentions of owning the X-T5.. I had a defective X-H2 and the store would not refund me.. MADE me exchange.. so I exchanged for an X-T5 with the intent of selling it. .. but it has slowly overtaken my A7IV as what I grab when I head out to shoot.

M-ar fi interesat o comparatie XT5 vs A7iii pentru ca nu sunt decis daca sa parasesc sistemul Fuji si sa fac tranzitia pe ff,respectiv Sony A7III. Acel dial la XT5 din ce material este ca m-ai pierdut...
Este plastic pe xt5, pe xpro3 și Nikon Zf metal. Pentru ce folosiți camera foto?

A few other things - Sony FF sensors tend to be dust magnets like no other brand. The Sony IBIS is also worse than Fuji. I agree with you that Fuji jpegs are way ahead of Sony.
I kinda dont agree with you need to buy the “big” and “large” fuji lenses to maximize the xt5. Remember the f2 fujicrons can resolve the 40 mp. Also there is the viltrox pro lenses now as well as the sigma and tamron. With that, getting the best image quality from fuji should not be as expensive as you thought it would be. Even the 18-55 kit lens offers good qualitty! Aside from that, agree with everything else.
I agree with @paolooribiana244 because I have only f/2 AF lenses for Fuji. (My 1.2 and 1.4 lenses are manual). I don't see any degradation on those lenses and in fact, the more modern Fuji bodies are bringing those f/2 lenses up in quality. I too agree with everything else!
Which one is best for portrait photography
Full frame in general
When I started getting into Fuji there was still a big discrepancy in terms of size and price with the Full Frames. Now it's no longer the case. The 7c is actually smaller, and the f1.8 lenses are small and equivalent to f1.2 aps-c while also being cheaper. It's like having an f1.2 kit instead of f1.4 kit. Also their image quality is higher, and you can adapt retro lenses and get the full image.
Fuji still has the retro ergonomics, but the arguments for aps-c are starting to disappear. And Fuji isn't helping by being more expensive than high-quality full-frame lenses.
I would like to start getting into full frame as a long-term plan, but it's also hard to justify spending $3k to get something very close to what I'm already using.
Speaking as someone who shoots both, Sony colours are way behind Fuji. And the FF IQ advantage really only shows at ridiculously large print/viewing sizes.
@@geofff6671 Hi there. Doesn't the full-frame also allow about 2 more stops of light before reaching the same amount of noise? That means being able to shoot at higher shutter speeds, during low light, and get clean images, a pretty significant advantage.
@@salarycat it depends. If you are happy with FF depth of field at f2 or f1.4 then FF has about one stop of advantage over APS-C and maybe two stops over M4/3. This matters if you are shoot moving subjects at F2 or F1.4. On the other hand the smaller formats have more depth of field at fast apertures, which helps nailing focus, and better IBIS which helps shooing static subjects. Bottom line is I would not bother shooting FF if out shooting in a city at night for my needs. In practice I rarely find one to two stops noise advantage significant.
This is a good summary. I’ve got both systems. The new Fuji xf lenses are generally better built and look great, but Sony files are just sharper and have about a stop advantage in low light. The Sony has a much smarter AF system too. I’m selling off my Fuji gear to move completely over to Sony after shooting both back to back for about a year.
@@anthonystonehouse the other thing worth mentioning is the noise advantage of FF only really starts to show at ISO above 6400. Agreed that Sony AF is amazing. Yes the files are sharper but it only matters at very large printing/viewing sizes. I did some close comparisons last night of shots of the same subject and can’t see any difference on a 28 inch 4K monitor between M4/3 files and FF. But if you are regularly printing at sizes much greater than a metre or viewing on a 65inch 8K TV up close then FF might win.
Which is better for video?
Fujifilm x-t5 is better than Sony a7c for video because of the specs but also the colors are amazing 🤩
The full-frame sensor’s superiority, especially in low light, is undeniable. However, Sony (as Canon) cameras tend to produce a digital look in their videos, which some may find less appealing . Fujifilm is celebrated for its organic and cinematic quality. Therefore, it boils down to the intended use: for exclusive video work, a Blackmagic 6K full-frame is the best bet. If a hybrid system is desired, Fujifilm maintains commendable quality, even with the constraints of an APS-C sensor.
Both are great cameras, there's no wrong choice here.

Just sold my xt4...ordered the A6700..whenever fuji sharpens its autofocus, i will go back..
a7c have 1 sd card slot and that's so risky for me as a professional photographer / videographer so that's a no no Ill will always go with fuji
A deal breaker for me as well: the frustration caused by a defective/lost single card (happened to me...) was too painful. 😕
X-t5 af is not as good as a7r3, i sold it just after 2 week usage
