How many songs did you recognize the first time you listened to this song? How many did you miss?
Edit: I went ahead and updated the link to the video in the description to the actual original video. The video I reacted to had the ending chopped off and at the time I did not know it was from a fan account
Todrick Hall is a very talented singer, dancer, etc. This production was his idea and he got Pentatonix on board. He grew up in Arlington TX, like Kirstin, Mitch and Scott, though he's a few years older. He has also been a background dancer for Taylor Swift and was given producing(?) credit on her video for Calm Down. You should check out his collaboration BLACK AND WHITE with SuperFruit and Kirstin.

I love that you recognize so many of the references to the 1939 movie with Judy Garland which so many reactors miss. That's remarkable for such a young guy. I missed most of the modern songs they used to recreate the story, but their lyrics did fit well, and as you said, the costumes were fabulous. Kirstie WAS Dorothy, and even Kevin made a passable Toto, though I would have loved to hear him bark. Great reaction!

todrick went to the same high school as mitch, kristie and scott but was a few years ahead of them. todrick is a HUGE fan of the wizard of oz. he even has a room in is house dedicated to the wizard od oz. the dog playing toto is actually todrick's dog toto. there is a bts video,. todrick is CRAZY talented. check out his 4 Beyonce which is a mash up of beyonce songs. beauty and the beat boots, beauty and the beat. his most "commericial" hit is hair, lips, heels and nails. he most always has a bts, he does a song with rupaul called low which is based on the wizard of oz.

Todrick Hall grew up in Arlington, Texas, as did Kirstin, Mitch, and Scott, though Todrick is six or seven years older than the trio. But because of this, Todrick and the trio were friends.

Note that the title of the video is "Todrick Hall - The Wizard of Ahhhs (ft. Pentatonix)." That's because this was Todrick's project from beginning to end; he just talked #Pentatonix into appearing in it.
Todrick is a huge fan of _The Wizard of Oz_ (some people might say he's obsessed with it). The little dog Kirstin is holding in the first scene was Todrick's dog, and its name actually was Toto.
Todrick published this to his CZcams channel just two months after Kirstin's twenty-first birthday. At the time, Pentatonix's publisher was Madison Gate; they hadn't even recorded "Daft Punk" (their first Grammy winner) yet.
The song choices were Todrick Hall's, though I suspect Pentatonix did the arranging. The costumes were rented from a costume company. Personally, I'm impressed that they had a Lollipop Guild costume available for someone who's 6'4" tall.
Yes, once Dorothy arrives in Ahhhs, Kevin is playing Toto - they needed him to have a reason to be in every scene, and they were running out of characters. Note that for a dog, Toto sure seems to be doing a lot of singing.
Kirstin played ALL the female characters, Dorothy, Glinda the Good Witch, and the Wicked Witch of the West Side. But because Dorothy also needed to be in the scenes with both witches they arranged it so that in those scenes Dorothy would be seen only from behind. That way she could be played by a stand-in.
The cup song is named "The Cup Song." Personally, I'd like to know who was performing it.
Note that The Scarecrow wants a brain, and Scott sings "Do you think about me still?"; the Tin Man wants a heart, and Mitch sings about needing time to heal the holes in his heart; and the Cowardly Lion wants courage, so Avi sings about how he can't be tamed, covering up the cowardice with bravado. BTW, did you notice the gold bricks scattered on the road behind Avi?

I adore "Wizard of Ahhhs." It's funny; it introduced me to songs I'd never heard before; and, oddly enough, it's helped me in the grieving process since my husband's suicide a bit over two years ago.

You'll notice in the scene with the Wicked WItch, you never see Dorothy's face. I think it was a stand in. Body language doesnt look like Kirstin, and she was definitely the Witch. She was Glinda the Good Witch too, in the Lollipop scene, Watching you watching them, it occurred to me that you might like their Home medley (recorded during the pandemic lockdown, each of them from their own homes - the label got them all recording setups ... they actually did several songs that way, all great), and then Making Christmas from "The Nightmare Before Christmas," where you'll see/hear Kirstin being a Wicked Witch again.
Yeah quite a few people mentioned body double and some mentioned her twin sister. I did react to Making Christmas back in October
I have read that Kirstie's twin sister was the stand in during the scenes where two of her characters were on screen simultaneously.

Pentatonix is the featured guest artist.This is a Todrick creation all the way through...from the song choices,costumes, set and Wizard of Oz is one of his favorite movies...he has several songs revolving around the movie,and he put this together. He asked PTX to work with him on it,but its Toddy's baby.🙂🎶❤✌

First of all, I’m a very big Pentatonix. But you have to give her credit. Do you not know how to read? This is a Todrick Hall I can send Pentatonix I can send the beginning. This was during the time Pentatonix had them and they had nobody so there’s no way they can do production. After all, Daft Punk. Would you like it if someone stole credit question
