Toon players know about summoning sickness
do they? do they though
Yes most toons have summoning sickness
And we’ve always fucking hated it
Yup. Lol
I know it *Toon* well
“Wait till you hear about summoning sickness”
Toon monsters: I’m still here ya know
Summoning sickness also affects creatures' effects. So, just imagine normal summoning Stratos and having to wait until the next turn to activate his effect.
@@KaoruMzk Oh god no! He wouldn’t even _survive_ that long, not to mention how likely it would be that he just gets negated anyway!
@@KaoruMzk If Stratos' effect is an enter the battlefield effect like how it seems to read then summoning sickness wouldnt stop it from working
@@KaoruMzk Only Ignition effects are affected by summoning sickness (and technically not even all of them, just ones that tap, but there's not really an equivalent of tapping in yugioh)
@@alicetheaxolotl The closest example to a "tap" in Yugioh, in my humble opinion, would be monster effects which prevent that monster from attack when used, like Number 50: Blackship of Corn.
So when are we gonna see you guys play MtG with the Professor. I loved when the professor learned Yugioh with you all. I want to see the other side now.
3 aps and the prof playing commander should b spicy.
@@dangus7509 oh that would be a really good one to see. Here's hoping the might do that
I don't know the Professor's exact upload schedule, but I think it should be the next Shuffle Up Play episode.
they been did that
SAME
Meanwhile:
Old yugioh players: wait so you can special summoned many strong monsters with strong effects in one turn?
Yugioh players tries out the commander format for the first time: "So you're telling me I have to make a 100 card deck and I can only use one copy of each card except for basic lands??? How do you guys shuffle?"
easily. i recommend not using dragon shield sleeves if you dont want your cards sliding everywhere
@@ArcturusAlpha That's just because you haven't broken the sleeves in yet. After about the millionth shuffle they should stop doing that. And don't forget to say things like "Ohh yeah, you Dragonshield Sleeves. You love it when I shuffle you up like that don't you? Who's your Daddy now, huh?" Trust me, it works.
Whit my hands.
Need a Larry Alec Trell Paul commander game asap
id cry in happyness
Who do you guys think will play the petty deck?
Been hoping for this since I heard mention of MTG being played.
They could- and imho should- snag precons they think look cool and go at it!
Kinda how I was when I jumped to magic the gathering from yugioh lol. I was so confused. But I am much better at it now than I was.
The gottdam struggle tho. I was like, what's a haste? Summoning sickness?.
Flying?
Now I'm like sol ring to ulamog turn 2.
Which of the 2 do you enjoy more?
@@ashharkausar413 to whom?
@@ohnoowo Both OP and you.
@@ashharkausar413 I think they're both fun. But MTG just has my heart.
So when we getting that 'Prof teaching Team APS Magic' video?
Neferi players learning Yu-Gi-Oh. "What do you mean I can't take your turn? Fine I draw 37 cards. Wait what do you mean no?"
Oh no, a game is gonna take more than 2 turns.
Summoning sickness is a Yu-Gi-Oh! Players worst nightmare
The professor will be so proud
Only Battle City duelists can handle summoning sickness :)
As a Toon player I already know alllll about Summoning Sickness.
As a Yu-Gi-Oh and MTG player, I have a lot of fun with both
Still waiting for that commander with the professor, guys.
"In Magic we actually have to use resources to play our cards" This single sentence demonstrates the problem with modern Yu-Gi-Oh and it is hilarious.
It isnt a problem
@@wild1299it kinda is
@@colragreal 4 negates is easy. I played through 5 at locals this past weekend with Branded Despia. Just learn good decks and stop playing pure blue eyes
dude acting like super poly, lava golem, and dark ruler no more aren’t viable board breaking cards against all the negates you just described. ygo doesn’t need 100 cards that you’ll never see
It’s not even true about Yugioh cause most decks require a resource to be played. Also I’ve played MTg decks that’s can win turn 2 easy.
This clip is an absolute classic
as a player of both, i confuse the rules a TON.
MORE PLEASE I BEEN WAITING FOR YALLS MAGIC CONTENT PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
The green mana symbol actually means that you support trees and wildlife
I love that you guys are putting out Magic the Gathering content in a sense like I play Master duels but also play Magic the Gathering table top. Not mtg area
None of us really play mtg arena tbh
watching you dudes play magic is going to be hysterical
Play magic with the professor
This game store looks so similar to one I have near me.
Bro summoning sickness
When you and professor playing commander
Yep! And it balances the game.
Although in some cases, it just prolongs the time it takes for the blue/red player to combo off for 20 minutes.
The 3 colours a Yugioh player diverts to first.
Blue. Cause drawing is good
Black. “Looking at the opponents hand and discarding 1 is busted”
Green “I just want to play my stuff, okay. So with this effect and this effect I put 10 lands into play to play this and this”
"So you gotta wait to play your spells?" Yes, it's called playing a game ;)
tell me you dont touch a deck of yugi, without tell me you dont evet touch a deck of yugi XDD,
Magic is at such a low speed that it's basically two independent games being played that occasionally interact.
magic the gathering requires more steps but is the less complex game
No? It's way more complex than yugioh. Can you make a working turing machine with a yugioh deck?
Bros gonna ask where the pendulum zone is at
it dosent exist anymore like zone zone, now are 1 and 5 position of magic zones
Got to MTG just last week. Love the game. Definitely a new consumer.
Same thing happened to me when I started to learn MTG back in 2005.
Wait till yugioh players find out how easy it is to draw cards in MTG.
What's even funnier is Yu-Gi-Oh players teaching Yu-Gi-Oh players mtg
Wait until you hear about summoning sickness Hahahahahahaha... wait until he tries to figure out combat
Crossover content is the best! lol
True
Idk too much about Yugioh, but I imagine it’s like MTG’s Vintage/Legacy combo decks on overdrive
Keyforge is where it's at lol. I recently go into it after cluntless games of MtG, Pokémon and Marvel Champions. Still getting used to the different keywords they use. And the decks are affordable too. Waiting for the holidays so I can pick up some stuff from the Dark Tidings set and the Winds of Exchange set
Magic is like Yugioh, but instead of your opponent doing massive combos on there first two turns, your opponent does the same but on turn three.
Depends on the format, you MIGHT get turn one'd or turn two'd in modern, vintage, legacy, or even commander depending on your playgroup.
@@HomeCookinMTG I haven't been playing in a while. Modern has one/two turn kills now?
Nothing like main decking 30 garnets. :)
WHERES THE FULL VID you guys actually need to do this
It's funny cause I'm a 7year magic player trying to learn yugioh as of yesterday, and the combat system, and "instant" quick effect mechanics are pretty much the only things I understood immediately
Same. The basic rules of yugioh all make sense, it’s just the sheer volume of text per card and tutoring I haven’t gotten used too
Lol yes the prof would be proud
Accurate and relatable :)
Tbf, I think Yugioh has it's own form of resource management in that you only have a limited amount of field space. Like, in magic, If I have a loop that allows me to make creature tokens infinitely, that's it, I pick an arbitrarily large number, and that's how many tokens I have, but in yugioh...you get 5.
6 (and sometimes 7 if you u-link) actually.
@@summermermaidstar756 I haven't touched Yu-Gi-Oh since xyz was the hot new thing. Back then you could only have 5 creatures in play.
A surprising number of link monsters don't give a hoot if you use tokens or not.
(Link spider moment)
Trust me, an infinite token engine would just keep climbing
Actually I think the best yugioh take away would be either Planeswalkers or Monster Destruction does not equate to health loss.
At the speed field removal and regrowth is Yugioh Planeswalkers might create and interesting game space. A unique card piece that has its own effects and ability that activate if conditions are met. Kinda like those speed duel cards but a bit more text heavy. On top of that they should be bound by archetype mostly, and generics (monster type or attribute) give minimal benefits cause generic material pieces have been a menace.
As for the Destruction piece, yes it would significantly be pro burn decks slightly, it would it would make their lack of bodies in an already speedy duel have some stay but little to no effect especially with how quickly board clearing happens
tunes are the best comparison to magic, you have to have a field spell so basically mana, and they have summoning sickness
just remember, the Professor He just broke his curse in Game Knights and destroyed everyone 🤣 I still want to see them play a game of commander
You should do one of these for the Digimon game
Holy shit. This game sounds pretty good and balanced.
God i love seeing aps playing magic since they are the only yugioh channel i can stand . You guys are amazing
Careful Team APS.
Their be Pinktertons in them parts.
SO I don't play yugioh but I know it uses resources...just not like lands...maybe it's broken nowadays but back in the day sacrificing creatures to summon bigger creatures was the resource. I hear now you just go brrrrr
The resource is frankly, the number of cards in hand.
If you BRRR too hard and get stopped, you're naked on the crackback.
Also; Tribute monsters not named Jinzo were never really good in the early days.
Where are the sleeves?!
When I tried magic I felt at home with Manaless Dredge
But for lower power magic I wishwe could jusy skip the firsy 1-2 turns of a game because 90% of the time there's 0 variation itn what happens and everything that does happen is expected.
Trell aint that bad. Magic is fun.
So let me teach you about game balance...
The funny one is when they realize our pot of greed is not a good card
Our Pot of Greed would be Ancestrall Recall or Lotus
Our Pot of Greed would be Ancestral Recall. So yes, it is a VERY good card.
Indeed. In magic drawing 2 is good. But not that broken as in yugioh
Are any of you paying 1 mana for my ristic study trigger?
@@azerjinn9160 never
Digimon is a pretty fun TCG game and I feel like it’s simpler than most
I think if three members of APS were piloting cEDH decks and Prof would play his Sliver. Prof would still lose.
I see a lot of people saying that the lack of ressource systems like lands is " The problem with modern yu-gi-oh" like if MTG didn't have a shit-ton of ways to by-pass that by now thanks to insane powercreep XD
Do one for Digimon!
I am really confuse how play it
Mana costs, I can live with that. Summoning sickness, no!
Lol which is why many of the best aggro cards have ‘haste’ to ignore summoning sickness
If you think that's wild just wait till they play legacy
nobody else realize he had no creatures in play to play prey upon?
The only free thing in yugioh activating spell cards and trap cards 😂 and there sometimes not free
🥲 Mood.
But how many monster zones are there?
Well, I got 4,194,304 creatures on board in one turn once. So...At least that many.
I once had infinite rats on my board...but they died... was still fun 😎
Yeah this seems accurate in every possible way
Wait, you are telling me I can't play 6 cards and draw four on turn one?? Whack
Yes..! 😂 ❤
Yu gi oh players: "wait I actually have to play the game and make decisions?!?!?!?!!"
tell me you never play yugi witout tell me you never play yugi XDDDDD, dude i play both but yugi its like a RTS game(real time strategy) while magic is turn base, u know sound ironacly couse yugi have some kind of turn, but u can play some thing called traphands for interrupt the combo of the opponet, also u need to defend of that cards or bait to the opponet use one for have free the rest, yugi its a more complex game
@@jorgecarvajal5385You're a grammatical mess but I agree with your point.
Yu-Gi-Oh is like a Fighting game.
Constant interaction until someone collapses.
Magic however seems from the outside like the two game states hardly interact at all mid turn
You already lost me, I don't have the brainpower to learn 2 card games
Yugioh players teaching me how (in one the battle sub-steps) you can solemn judgment from taking a shower (he do be playing half his LP though)
you don't have to wait to play your cards, you just need fast mana
Down with enter battle tapped lands!
I have no idea how magic the gathering works except that you need resources and have like 50 lp
20 hp, unless it's commander, then 40, or 25 for brawl, or 30 for two headed giant, or...
@@CanadianCrits We don't talk about brawl..
@@WeaponXYZ You're not wrong
Summoning sickness sucks. That’s why I love using the Dramamine artifact in my decks.
I’ll set this instant face down
Hmmm
MTG requires infinitely more strategy. For me, YugiOh isn't near challenging enough. MTG has endless options. YugiOh is much more limited by archetypes. MTG was created as a lateral thinking exercise. YugiOh was created to exploit a fanbase.
I play and collect MTG. And yup.
A Planes-what now?
Yugioh kinda ruined card games for me cause all these reaource limitations stand in my way when all I wanna do is OTK my first turn😂 i mean not really but magic just doesnt have the same speed that we all love and hate about yugioh
MTG is a lot easier to learn than Yugioh, actually. You just have to ignore things like stickers, werewolves, dungeons, initiative, and whatever is going on on Standar nowadays.
Shah no one tell the new player about the broken combos you can pull
To Me, Magic the Gathering is a combination of Yugioh and Duel Masters. Or Magic was split into the two.
Magic, like real life, is a game that heavily favors the person with all the resources.
Belive it or not.. MTG actully has an FTK.. its a deck built around it. Basicly cast 0 mana spells.. all i know is that when they set that 1 mana its game lol
I saw some yugioh players talking about how slow magic is because of the resource system, them i showed them how to win turn 0 lol
Excuse me. Have enough what?
Honesty, lands are probably why Magic as at stayed a consistent and stable game... unlike Yu-Gi-Oh!.
Yugioh is so convoluted now with every additions during new generation to the field. I came back to yugi around 2019 and learned link summoning and some combos. It was fun for a while but there's something about it that's lacking, it's because OTK is so easier now to do and the convoluted card essays are too overboard now.
A friend of mine who we introduced to yugi then introduced us to magic. We already swapped games the moment we learned that this game actually lasts longer than yugioh and especially commander, everybody loves commander. The land system was actually fun but definitely RNG sometimes.
I don’t get what this channels about, I’ve been subscribed for years and not once have I’ve seen TeamAps review any apps.
Are you serious or you just being a troll ? Well if you serious they review /duel/open packs and stuff about yugioh and aps stands for Android psychic shocker which is the Japanese name for Jinzo.
@@Chaosic its a joke
@@tafadzwamanzini5463 I see a joke huh
@@Chaosic yup
Funny thing. I play yugioh and cardfight vanguard and when my friend tries to get me into magic I used his fire deck and creamed him when he used 5 different decks but I kept on creaming him with the red burn deck.
Didn’t some of you guys pay $1000 for a anniversary collection that u can’t use & wave of lands or whatever the name is having problems MTG 😂
Wow MtG is slow
The only thing Magic does better is they don't reprint their cards. So the value of the cards go up!
1: grammar
2: if you’re attempting to say mtg doesn’t do reprints then your just wrong they do reprints all the time
