I feel you I am in my mid 40s black male and I have been collecting coins since the mid late 80s of silver, gold coins and currency and that drive is not there really anymore so the huge collection is just sitting in books and loose but just haven`t hit the trigger to sell. love the videos keep making them

I see people buying games and I wonder if they'll ever play them. I mean, I have a lot of games, but my backlog is pretty small. I don't collect for the sake of collecting and I don't keep stuff I don't plan on, as you said "going back to it." The exception to the rule for me are games I can get for free, but I don't count them in my backlog. Those ones are mostly digital and are there in case I ever get around to them. I mean, they're free, so I have trouble passing those up. :D
My digital games cover my PS3, PS4, 360, X1 and PC. Its somewhere between 300-500 games total. I started only keeping some many games installed. After I complete a game I uninstall it. If its a current title and I don't plan on going back to it then off to the pile of games for trade bait. Now the consoles are here to stay. They getting wayyy too expensive. I have my eyes set on the PS Vita.

Me too. Definitely a system that grew on me. I have no future plans to get rid of it. I plan on keeping my consoles for the most part. They are getting expensive.

I've tried to complete that game. Definitely fun for sure and enjoy the sdtk.
Best thing I ever did was sell the retro and even now I don't have more than maybe 20 physical discs, not because I play everything digital, it's because I only buy what I want to play and then trade it back.
Yes. I remember that day very way. The biggest purge I had ever seen. Early last year I got rid of all cartridge based games. Anything disc I keep it.
I hear you man . 37 years old now. Not selling my games yet. Maybe in 20 years. I want to move and get my 1st home so I can have it all out for the 1st time. Then years down the road I will go with how I feel over time. Getting into arcade cabinets etc
Hoping our next move will be the last. I had the same thing in mind to put everything on display. Right now its all in the closet because of limited space.

I did the same years ago and don't regret it. I play a lot of retro and mostly emulate anyway, so the carts were sat there unused. I'm also more of a minimalist these days so prefer quality over quantity.
I had to become a minimalist. Somewhere between 2014 & 2015 my collecting reached an all time peak. I had games everywhere. What opened my eyes was the first time that I moved. So I sold somethings off and it felt great.
The LS Resale Rollercoaster (or purging) continues, as it should 😂 Collection’s don’t have to be massive, to be respected (or respectable).
Oddly enough though, I’m mildly interested in the how… or where…, the purged (games) were purged? Especially, the one’s that we’re said to have “… no value” 🤔 Is that, even possible in today’s current market (rhetorical)?

Hey IQ! Good to hear from you man as always! Yes. I'll game till I die. That's a given. 30+ plus years at this point. If I had a man cave like yours I probably wouldn't see much. I know I would still get rid of some but would have more games.
Truth? It was about 20-30 I couldn't even given away. (It was 360 games) I threw them away for the most part because I already had them in the digital version. Don't condemn me bro. I moved back in December to our new home, I sold the shelf and now my games sit on a shelf in my closet. If we move again hopefully this will be our final spot and I can begin to accumulate a collection again.
Now the digital games if I add them up across all platforms has to be between 300-500.

@@DeadThumbGamer it's all good. The wifey suggested floating shelves to put, games out on display. Makes it easier to get to the main games that I want to play.

I don't blame you for that. @3:52, looks good (why not get an L-shaped desk) Plus, selling games to GameStop won't be smart (they've notorious for being stupidly cheap or worse). I did get that Cowabunga collection and it was definitely worth it. I still have the desk but my brother-in-law hooked me up with additional desk. Its better setup.
