  • I have owned this bike since 1985. It's a 60 Pan with a 57 straight leg frame. The Engine has a S&S Carb and STD Heads. This is the finished product. I rebuilt the engine over the kitchen sink, tranny on the back deck and the wheel hubs on the kitchen stove. I assembled the bike in the house and outside the house. The bike as of this video, has about 1200 miles. It's a daily ride....

    What a beautiful bike ! Even more of a beauty with the Panhead . Motorcycle engineers and designers should take note of what people really want . Instead of keep pumping out motorcycles which look like science fiction projects .

      as soon as it's time to start planting garden crops the rain will stop and the sun will keep shining

    I love the diamond primary cover. I had the first Mose Trap eliminator, wow is that fun to break in. Always carry a 1/2 and 9/16” open end wrench with you religiously!!! You have to keep adjusting the clutches, if not it keeps walking away with you on it and the breaks won’t stop it. I pot that on my ‘48 Pan.

      @@amiabledave50 thanks for the reply, have fun with the side car, that will get some looks! I actually rode a couple bikes with side cars a few times and I have to be honest I hated them even though they look so cool and unique. It totally changed that what makes a bike a bike. The handling the turning just about everything. More like riding a trike as I'm sure you know. But I hope you enjoy and again have fun after all that what its all about! Take care!

    You did an awesome job my friend!Sounds awesome too!I'm kinda new to old time Harleys and was wondering what a mouse trap is.

    • @amiabledave50
      @amiabledave50  Před 4 lety +3

      Look at the video again and pay attention to the left down tube. The Mousetrap is the fixture with the large spring. When you disengage the transmission using the hand lever, it doesn't fatigue your hand

    • @amiabledave50
      @amiabledave50  Před 4 lety +3

      Also if your clutch cable breaks you can manually use the mouse trap to shift gears. Doing so will get you home instead of being stuck on the side of the road. If you're not careful your fingers can get pinched in between the mount and spring. Hence the name mouse trap.
