    Thanks for the video. I wish this type of information was available when I was attending university in Aberdeen 10+ years ago. I'd love to see more of the student village.

      Maybe I´ll get a chance to go up there again soon. Once it´s less infested with corona...

    Thank you for this video. I am taking the course here in September 2024. Can you please refer me an optimal option of choosing a shared flat that I can walk home after working part-time at night?

    Hi, do you know anything about hunters court accommodation? Any reviews?

    • @theunicook2604
      @theunicook2604  Před 3 lety +3

      Hiya! Unfortunately I don´t know much about the Hunter Court accommodation... Judging by images online it looks fairly modern from the inside, but I don´t know if that is actually the case. The accommodation is right at the heart of campus though, so a good location to get to classes and the sports village. A little further away from the supermarkets perhaps but still a pretty decent location! Sorry, hope that helps a little bit but I´m afraid I cannot say much more than that as I haven´t stayed there myself (or know anyone that has).

    Hi! Thank you so much for this wonderful video it was quite informative. I've got an offer letter and if things work out I might be in Aberdeen this September. I just wanted to ask you if you are aware about any private accommodation that can be probably pocket friendly as I feel the student accommodations are quite expensive. Is it possible to book private accommodations before I arrive Aberdeen? I'll be really grateful if you could help me out with this! Thank you so much 🌻

      Thanks for the video UniCook and thanks for the question Ishaa because I was just about to ask the same thing!
      I am moving to Aberdeen in August for my PGDE and ideally looking for one bedroom private accomodation.
      Let me know if you guys hear of anything, much appreciated :)

      @@shaneoneill5885 Hi! For sure for sure. If I get any information I'll let you know. As you are going to move to Aberdeen a month before me you might end up getting more information, will you be kind enough to let me know if you get to know about the private accommodation please? It'll be of great help! Thanks :-)

      Congratulations on you Offer letter Ishaa. Was looking out for Universities offering Cyber Security. Got a notification few minutes ago (as of the time of writing this) on LinkedIn that someone from Aberdeen Area viewed my post, so I decided to check the area out, and yulp, found my future school 😎😂. Uhmmm, Don't really know how to keep up the communication with you, because i'd like to know/learn more on how to get an offer letter.
      I'm currently undergoing my 1year NYSC program in my country Nigeria, and can't make it for September, so it'll probably be next year 2023, so I really want to be informed. Thanks in advance, for anything. Oh yeah, i'm a Software Engineer, just want to upscale myself and education with Cyber Security.

      @@georgeikwegbu5284 Hi George! Thank you so much. Happy to know that you found your dream school haha.
      To get an offer letter you need to apply for the course that you would like to study. You can find about your course on University website and proceed with the application. Once your application meets the criteria the university will contact you and let you know. In my case, I had an interview after my application was accepted and it met the requirements. So once I passed the interview I got an email from the admission department and they offered me a place. I had to send them my confirmation and accept the offer. Now I'm waiting for the CAS letter. I don't know much about your field and if the university offers any course. I'm sure you'll be able to get more information on the University website. Wishing you a very good luck! If I do end up finding anything about the accommodation I'll let you know!

      Hi @Ishaa Shaikh and @Shane O'Neill. Congrats on your offers to study at Aberdeen University! Good question about the private accommodation. There are a lot of resources I have used to find flats in Aberdeen in the past: Zoopla, Rightmove, Facebook Marketplace or even Gumtree! The University website also sometimes advertises flats available for students. I would recommend opting for sth by a private landlord rather than through a letting agency, as they can sometimes be a pain. There is loads of accommodation available in Aberdeen actually, so I'm sure you'll be able to find something. I actually have a post on my blog about how to find private accommodation in Aberdeen and what locations are good, so if you want you can check that out here: theunicook.com/tips-for-student-flat-hunting-in-aberdeen/
      Hope that helps and answers some of your questions. Anything else just let me know and I'll try my best to help!

      Hi Raman! I am not entirely sure which block was block 3 (I was in block 1). I would recommend emailing them and double-checking you are not right behind the TSB bank so that you don't have a wall 30cm from your window! If you ask Unite Students they should hopefully get back to you about that! Apart from that I think KSE is a good place to stay!

    What about the availability of part-time jobs in Aberdeen

    • @theunicook2604
      @theunicook2604  Před 2 lety

      Hi! A lot of students work part-time during their degree and there are a lot of options especially in the hospitality sector. Personally, I never worked during term-time as my course was quite full-on, so I just worked full-time over the summers instead.

      Hi there! It's probably cheapest to go with Unite Students if you are looking to stay in designated student accommodation, otherwise it is probably best to find private accommodation somewhere. There is a lot of property to let in Aberdeen. That'd be my personal advice at least!

    • @ishaashaikh5348
      @ishaashaikh5348 Před 2 lety

      Hey Amjad! Were you successful in finding a private accomodation? If yes can you let me know more about it? I'll be moving to Aberdeen University this September for my masters too. The cost of Student accommodation is quite high hence I was looking to get to know more about the private accommodations. I'll be really grateful if you could help me with this! Thank you!
