My neighborhood has no power, but Centerpoint doesn’t account for us on their interactive map. I don’t believe their numbers or their progress reports.
O God, help the people of Houston who have been negatively affected by the weather, have mercy on all of humanity I pray in Jesus Christ Holy Name, Amen.
We have to be more patient as a people. In America we want everything to go back to normalcy like it never happened right after a devastating disaster. It takes time to assess first and restore power for large communities of damage. I’m speaking from experience back to back hurricanes in Louisiana in 2020. The resources were also lacking during that time. At least there are multiple places to go for food, water, cool air Community centers. I remember when in 4 th grade going back to school in the middle of hurricane recovery We had paper bag lunches and snacks. They made the best of it. It also helped parents take care of business during the day. I’m thankful we have programs in place to help because other countries don’t have it like that If they have a disaster it can set them back for decades.
Lineman working 17 hrs a day in 95* heat wearing rubber sleeves and gloves have a little patience with the personal on the brink of a heat stroke rebuilding your power lines. It’s not easy. Throw in the heat and humidity. There’s good chance one of them will die rebuilding your power lines. So take that into account before people get mad at them.
