    To take out the rubber shit of the black panels take out the pieces and place-it under hot water. Use a degreaser (I've used KH7) and use a hard brush. I've done that in my golf gti mk4 25th

    Your lights are not coming on when opening the drivers door due to the microswitch in the door lock module being broken. Usually the welcome light on the door does not work too as it senses if the door is open or not. It's a common issue and can be easily replaced. Would make for a good video.

    • @bluudysgarage

      Hey man. You are right. But they are a pain in the ass to do. as you have to remove door cards window regs. Windows etc then the lock. I. Gonna live with it for now

    • @calvinparke9053
      @calvinparke9053 Před 5 lety +1

      I done this to my mk1 leon also, it's easily repaired if you don't want to spend the cash on a door lock, just split the mechanical and electrical parts once the door lock is out and open up the electrical part and you will see where the wires have been soldered to the circuit board (these usually tend to have very little solder from factory which breaks over time) you will see where the solder has cracked, just re-solder and put back together and you saved yourself some money, only takes an extra 10mins to fix instead of replacing the whole unit, whole job can be done in an hour, I've done it to both driver and passenger doors it's dead easy

    The reason you had a few of those longer sufit LEDs left may be because those are used in the rear vanity lights and the shorter one in the boot light on older model years of Golf mk4, so maybe you ordered the wrong kit or the seller f*ed up. BTW yes you are missing a spring on the glovebox light

    Nice video as always Bluudy! If my plastic dash becomes or is filthy then I first degrees it with some rubbing alcohol. Most of the time old steering wheels and things like that are sticky and do have nasty stains on them. After that, I use some cockpit spray to get it shiny. _But, why do you have a piece of foam under your gearstick?_

    • @bluudysgarage
      @bluudysgarage  Před 5 lety

      Thanks for the advice. Theres foam all around the car under panels etc. Its all to stop road noise etc. Part of the build quality of a Volkswagen.

      Hi mate, you can wet sand the scuffed panels with 1000 grit sand paper and above. It will smooth out scratches etc. You can then polish it with a cutting polish and wipe off with rubbing alcohol to remove the traces of it. To bring back the shine/gloss use a trim restorer. Hope my comments help.
