How To Build A Bolt-Together Drift Trike (No Welding)

- I made this video for people that want to build a drift trike out of a 20" bicycle but are unable to do any welding...I figured out how to cut apart a bike and turn it into a drift trike by bolting parts together instead of welding...I had very little time or money in this project...I only had to come up with a small handful of additional hardware and materials... I prefer the welding method but I hope this helps if you have limited access to fabrication tools...Thanks for watching, if it helped, please leave a like.

It is cool that someone takes into consideration that there are people who
do not have tools that others have and can do the same thing that is cool with other methods
Yea thanks, Was my intention to help kids see that this stuff can be done with a couple simple tools and some salvaged material.
Everything about this drift trike, all the cuts , bends, use of entire bike, and making it bolt together. I have to say is pure genius. you really opened my mind to how to actually cut the metal in order to bolt it in. Great job.
this guy did a great job but for your own sake please weld it! its much safer cheaper and quicker
@@Sadge1999 i dont know about safer because the bolts can vibrate liose
I'm not even into drift trikes but you have some serious skills man! That is seriously impressive.
Appreciate that
The positive feedback on this video has been amazing....thank you guys sooo much.
your welcome, and its because you do Great work.
how much would it cost for you to make one for me?
Sorry dude...too much money, and hassle to ship...build them for local buddies only right now.
im in cali, im willing to pay for the shiping, but its good brah
Im in ohio bud...would be cheaper for ya find one local.
thank you, for actually considering the average person who can't weld I pray you have a awesome year..
Holy cow. Thanks so much! I have unfortunately not been able to get a welder and this helped so much! I've even built two more for my friends and we have weekend races! It wouldn't be possibly without you!
Thats awesome bro...glad ya was able to make it happen and appreciate the feedback.
Thank you for making this video, I'm making a bolt together drift trike and I didn't. Know. How to make the axle , but after watching this it gave my some good ideas on how to do it. Thanks again
Hope ya meke it work
Dude, That's Badass and you're not annoying either. Nice Job, and way to keep this video short and to the point.
Glad im not annoying....lol, have you had bad experience with other tubers?
I commented because I had just watched this dude's build be he was so fucking annoying but I wound up fast fwd so I wouldn't punch the screen. You have skills and it wasn't drawn out. Props! Yes I do get replays good bad and in between. I'm not a dick just honest, can't please everybody.Good luck bro.
Lol, thanks bud
Roger Miller Best comment here. 10/10
Nicely done. Well done video. It took me $38 a small mig welder and a hour of time to build one of my own.
Best trike build I've seen yet with no welding. Great job.
Thanks bud
Yup I've been watching videos for diy and yours is the best that I like. Simple and straight forward. Literally a diy instructional thanks
You Sir are a genius. Brilliant work, thanks for posting.
This is the smartest thing ive seen done
This is Great! My two sons, grandsons and I will be using your idea/tutorial to build our own over the Christmas Holidays, it's summer here in New Zealand so we'll be having lotsa fun in the sun slidin' through our neighbourhood thanks to You! 🤗 Happy Holidays, peace and blessings to u and yours. 🙏🏾
love this when my step dad lets me use all the tools im making a bolt together drift trike, thanks
You're the man smithers. Great design!
thanks bud. i prefer mongoose frames and welding, but this vid was for the kids that cant.
Trying to build one of these just found an old lawnmower 3.5hp engine I have to convert to a verticle engine. This is something I have always wanted to do and watching your video yesterday made me feel inspired to get it done got up this morning went on Craigslist found a 10$ mower and a free bmx 20in girl bike we two free bikes actually and now to just start cutting and tapping
good luck to ya bud.
Thank you so much dude! Im am currently sitting in my garage watching your video because i need to finish the back axle, i am half way throo making it and i love it! Im 15 and i dont have a welder so its kinda shit but having you show us how to make one with no welder is amazing!! Love the videos keep up the awesome work man
appreciated
Thank you so much sir! My freind and I have been wanting to build a drift trike for so long but don't have any way to get a wielder. This video really helped us ( mostly me doh) figure out the little stuff!
What an excellent and creative build! Nicely explained with clear easy to follow steps that were recorded well (focused, well lighted with great sound too), Thanks for this!
Thank you...i had no idea this vid would do well on youtube but the likes and the feedback has been amazing...very rewarding to me when people show appreciation...good luck to you if your building one bud.
Great advice humble attitude. The best video I have seen on you tube.
Hey man I gotta say, your a hell of a fabricator. For what you used the fitting on all your cut pieces was really really good. I salute you. Hats off for the video.
thanks bud. i work as a fabricator/welder. been at it a while.
Awesome build man. I just started on mine, I will be welding some of it, but most of it will be bolt on, your video helped me figure out what I'd rather have bolted rather than welded! Thanks!
Cool bud...hope it works out for ya.
man you are a god bro. im drift triker too and i weld all my trikes. i have to say i was skeptical while watching the vid and was thinking" what the hell is this guy thinking this trike wont be solid at all..."but you sir have proven me wrong and i applaud your workmanship and ingenuity on your build. now i wanna try building a trike like yours. ive been drifting trikes for almost 2 yrs now and ive seen some crazy stupid designs for strikes that are just retarded and they are a bad bad wreck waiting to happen. you how ever have found a way around the danger of it falling a part.. you are a god bro...
i weld all mine too. this was for kids that cant
this was very nice of U to spend you're time to show kids who don't have all the nice tools or shop to do all this in its nice to know there is still a few
unselfish people left in this world. tell me this? don't U need very tough feet or mabye steel bottom shoes to ride these things lol
it was also a good video keep up the great work. u will be repaid sometime somewhere in life.
Thanks for the video! I didn't even know self tapping screws existed and used to make a recumbent trike!
I plan on making one over the winter, thx for the video
That is super impressive. I wanna build one when I get back home to Norway. I'll use yours as a general guide! Thanks for a great video!
thanks for watching
Well done! Simple smart ingenuity that is very effective.

Great job on the bolt together drift trike!! I need to build one of these soon.

Wicked. Thanks for showing a non welded trike.

Bless your heart You are a good man!! What if I used fiberglass to wrap all of it afterwards? Hide all the screws.

Nice Job! Now you need to make a freewheel peddle front hub for the rim.
Not sure it can be done without a machine shop.
very helpful, thx!
that is just amazing!!!!
Thank you vanessa
Hell yeah, nice video. Nice trike bud.
thanks so much
that's badass thx helped me out a lot dropped a like and a sub
Thank u so much this helped mi a lot all I gotta do is get permission from my parents and I'll b good but the thing is idk how to make the pedles work. But urs looks good. Hope u have fun😜👍👍
i build pedal wheels but not without welding.
Can u do a video with u doing peddle wheels then ?
I have a vid on building them.
Use a unicycle wheel or something
A unicycle wheel does not free-spin...yourfeet would be kicking as fast as you were rolling...
Thanks man I made one at school!
how the fuck
Init bruv wtf are u doing making one at school 😂😂😂
Lloyd Powell shop class instead of lunch 👌
I've got a new challenge for you. A bolt-together trike that collapses or can be taken apart for compact storage. I live in an apartment and an idea of the space I've got, I need it to fit in the trunk of my car lol. If you were building that, where would you focus on making the bolt-away parts? I'm thinking a bolt-away steering neck or simply a bike with a removable handlebar, and bolt-away axle or seat. I'm not even sure if it's do-able, I just learned about drift trikes about a month ago so yeah lol.
wish i had time to do that. excellent idea
This really will help me out
sweet...good luck bud.
thanks I am just about done but I am not bolting it that's a way cheap way to break it
Awesome !!
Yo man awesome vid , these drift trikes are so expensive in china this might be my only option lol
Good job! Keep going man. :)
thanks bud
nice dude!
thanks bud
Thanks Dude!
thanks , your awesome
thanks for the great idea
Thanks for watching bud, good luck with your build
Excellent Video!
Could you please tell me how did you put the wheels into the axel? Is it a tight fit and based on friction to hold it all together?
Thanks!
The video I waas looking for thanks
Cool, hope it works out for ya.
Man me and my friend are planing on make two of they then racing thanks so much!!!(:
Careful...check out my crash vid.
***** just saw it. that was pretty bad! but i will make sure to wear safty gear(: hey man keep doing what your doing!(:
thanks for the vid great for kids project like me
careful buddy. good luck
You are a very skilled and patient builder I'm building a trike right now and do you recommend fixed axle (like this video shows) or a rolling axle (like you put on you motorized trike)? inflatable tires with pvc over them or wood with pvc?
Thanks bud...i do recommend a fixed axle so the bearings are in the wheels...also recommend inflatable wheels....i use wood with couplings alot simply because it is a much cheaper way to go but they work perfectly....in some of my vids, i use 1/2" axle but thats because i had 50' of it lying around...5/8 or 3/4 will give ya much stronger axle....i always reply to Q's guys and good luck with your build..
Ur realy good!
Appreciate that bud
you can also get a 6inch cupling and fill it up with pliwood for the back wheels.
awesome
Thanks!
