Great solution for a fun project. I think welding the cranks on is acceptable since the trike is not likely to get ridden for hundred of miles and need service to the hub. If you wanted to though, you could drill the axle on both sides and thread them to receive bolts to hold the cranks on.
Wow, I have been over thinking a freewheel hub design. This is great, I will definitely apply your invention (modify it a little). And probably add a Brake disc bracket to your Invention as well.

Not the bearings . the bearing HOLDERS that go on the forks that i cant find. As for the disc its not that expensive . a mechanical disk brake kit is around 30-40 euros. But is there a way to mount the disc on the other side . I know there is a way for it on the freewheel side.

Why not just a normal bike brake? Disk brakes are loads of work especially on a setup like this

you dont "make" axels unless you have a CNC machine or a bolt threading machine. You could just buy one for like 10-15 dollars though
