Here's what Wikipedia says about Marbella Old Town : "The quaint Old Town is home to Renaissance-era whitewashed buildings, flower-draped balconies, and narrow, winding streets. Plaza de los Naranjos draws visitors with its orange trees, 15th-century Ermita de Santiago church, and restaurants with terraces, serving traditional dishes like gazpacho and meatballs. Avenida del Mar is a long, narrow plaza dotted with palm trees and bronze sculptures by Salvador Dalí."
Marbella old town is ridiculously tourist - but then you're a tourist. It really is a very easy place to spend a half day. Lovely old buildings in windy lanes and a number of beautiful plazas. Usual range of junky shops (although one or two quality ones), churches, restaurants, and coffee shops.
Named Casco Antiguo de Marbella (Ancient District of Marbella) in Spanish, Marbella Old Town dates back to the 15th century, right after the Christian Reconquista.
Marbella's old town is a vibrant part of this coastal city to visit, and is a world away from Puerto Banús. It’s a must to visit the old town and have lunch at The Plaza Los Naranjos .
