Old Wood Table Restoration.

- In this video, we will show the restoration of an old table. This table is the grandfather who left us more than 10 years ago. It is a very valuable thing for my grandmother and we decided to restore it.
We found interesting things on the tables, such as a book on measuring a log of wood and a collection of folk songs.
First, we will disassemble the table into parts so that it is convenient to restore.
The problem is the nails with which the table was fastened. But we solved it. The second problem was that different types of wood were used. Cherry wood legs drawer front and table front in oak top and pine drawers. In the future, it will be a problem for us to choose a finish paint so that different tones of wood are not visible at the end.
A lot was spent on restoration, so we decided to release two parts. I hope you will like it. Happy viewing.

Kinda went at it like a caveman when disassembled. End result was good though so no harm done I guess. Nice job!
Thanks for watching
Sounds like he hurt the tables feelings when he pulled it apart.
I agree, almost stopped watching.
The disassembling was BRUTAL!
As opposed to tackling it how?
Can't wait for part 2, great job cleaning up the existing parts. That table is a true heirloom piece and restored with love and care. I can just imagine you as a young boy soending precious time at lunch or dinner with you grandparents.
Thank you for viewing. The second part comes out this Friday.
@@WOODDESIGN6730 Looking forward to it 💫
Your grandfather would be very proud of you. I have learned some new tricks and I can't wait for the next video. Have a blessed day.
Thanks for watching. It will come out today.
My son had this beautiful table, very much like this one, that he didn’t want. I reminded him constantly that I want it when he got one to replace it.
It’s now in my possession and I can’t wait to get started on it!
To me, it's equally pleasing to see you restore something as it to make something new. Obviously, Festool, Titebond etc. were not around when this table was made. thks look forward to the next part.
Thanks for watching. I will take that into consideration. 👍👍👍

Your Gran will appreciate the work you put into renewing this table! It's a very kind act!
What a great piece of family history.
Thanks for watching

Thanks for sharing this insightful video and the process of restoring your grandfather’s desk. I’m sure he is watching your every move for the care with which you have disassembled and focused on each successive piece. Wishing you and your family a blessed week filled with peace, gentle weather, nourishing rain and restful evenings. Peace brother
Thank you for your viewing and support. Peace to you.
Good start! I look forward to the next video.

Hello, I found your channel today, and I think I’m really gonna enjoy it. My grandfather was a cabinet maker. He also built houses and designed them. And I used to love watching him in his workshop.
The desk that you are giving it a little bit of a makeover is beautifully built. I look forward to watching the conclusion of this project. Kathy

I am very impressed in how you made the wood panel straight by just cutting a slot in it and pressed it down with another piece of woodstrip. That is very ingenious👌👍. First time i see somebody doing it and i am subscribing to many other woodworking channels. (Not that they dont know or use this technic...i just havent seen any of that in their videos. I made a few desks for my daughters and some of the wood is warped upwards and i keep screwing down but now i know a better trick...cut a slot in it to release the tention in the wood....thank you for sharing
Thank you for viewing. It's great that you found something useful in this video.
I too was impressed with this technique and had actually been searching for a good method for repairing bows.
can't wait to see the next part.
You disassembling was nothing short of BRUTAL!!! OMHOSH!!!
I could hear the wood screaming!
@@fabrigasan2150 Speak English.
Finally, I see someone use blue masking tape like this! I use it around apoxy restorations outdoors all the time.
I don't think I have ever seen so many nails in one piece of furniture. Geez. Now that's a handy dandy machine you have there that is sanding the wood. Nice!
Thanks for watching.
I've just found your channel and you have inspired me to try and restore a old dresser l have!! Thank you so much, what a lovely thing to do for your grandmother👍 peace be with you🇺🇦❤
Looks great.
Thanks for watching.
Buen trabajo... Ancioso por la próxima entrega...!!! SALUDOS...!!!
Obrigada. A parte final já é na sexta-feira.
Love the sentiment behind this restoration.
I understand restoration as seeking to preserve the character and patina a item has aquired in it's life. That is where skill lies.
Sure looks like a most appricate peace of work by the people that owned this peace.
Thanks for watching.
A darker wood stain (like mahogany or similar) would look better. It would be closer to its original look. That's my opinion. Thanks for sharing it. It was great.
Excelente trabajo!
I love trying to read Spanish comments to see how well I can translate! Just thought I would add that! 😊
Clever use of a domino joiner to fill holes!
Thanks for watching
I wish I had a great workshop like yours :-)
Excellent. Although English I live in Bulgaria. I am sitting at a similar table now.
Thanks for watching 👍👍👍
You work differently to other restorers I have been watching, using a slot and epoxy instead steam/heat to make the panel straight; and chiselling off the glue after it has dried... This is both interesting and refreshing, so I have subscribed!
I hope you and your family are safe and well. I have Ukraine flags on my gate to let refugees to England know we support them.
Meanwhile, I look forward to part 2 and will watch your back catalogue. 😁
Thanks for watching. Part2 czcams.com/video/3_DGVsi5TAg/video.html
Great work, nice video, great tools and skills. Not exactly my idea of a restoration project but more like making a new table out of the salvageable parts of an old table, a family heir loom. I hope those who cherished your grand father's table recognize it as such when it is completed.
Beautiful work!
My grandmother had a dining table that same basic design. Turned legs, with the x brace. I remember it was oak and aside from a gold band painted around the outside edge of the top it just had a clear finish thatd yellowed with age. An uncle of hers or her husband was said to of made it,an oak rocker, and a slant top writing desk she had. She passed in 2000 at 82 years old and all her belongings were sadly lost when her house burned shortly after. She was the glue that held the family together and we enjoyed many Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners at that table.
A primeira parte tá ficando boa, aguardo segunda parte, deverá ficar melhor ainda 👏👏👏👏. Br.
Beautiful work.

Excelente trabajo 👏 👍
Gracias por ver
Wawwww espectacular!!!!!!!!!! 😮
In the days when wood furniture was made of wood, it could always be repaired and refinished.
What I like here is the oak - after re=planing - is more seasoned than before, and the finished result may last even longer than the original.
Thanks for watching
Nice work….

Impresionante !!!! Arte y talento!!!

It was amazing at how many nails was in this table. I understand this was your grandfathers table. You can see it was well used n loved.

you are amazing !
Next time you encounter a nail that has been in wood a long time and is difficult to remove Hold a hot electric soldering iron the head for a couple of minutes. It expands the nail and breaks the bond with the wood when it cools it is so easy to remove Also works with screws
🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
New subbie here. Looking forward to part 2. Very impressed so far.
Thanks for watching
Muito bom.
It is hard to decide to give a sympathetically small restoration or full blown one in the case of the table I go would have done a full repair and replacement of woodworm peace’s as they had gone to far treated the rest of the timber looking forward to seeing the next one on this table. Yes it is old but not an antique it is at the end of the day a family peace that your grandad will be proud off.take care.😀👍
Thanks for watching 👍👍👍
