I love that at 4:03 that Katelyn gives credit to her entire team. I have said it a million times but I also love the relationship that these two share! Every person needs a Miss Val in their life.

Coach Val really safe Katelyn life and revitalize her gymnastic love and passion for the sport. She looks at her as a human been not as a robotic person doing acrobatics, she made her happy of what she was doing and add dance to her spectacular performance.
She was a loving coach who never force her gymnastic team to over do dangerous things, like what happened with Elena Mukhina, from Russia who ended up paraplegic and die after a short painful life.
You both exemplify what life should be about. Kudos ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I was a competitive gymnast in high school, but had done classical ballet since I was 7 years old. My dance helped me so much. I had a & have scoliosis & was braced 23 1/2 hours a day which depletes your muscle tone. I had to work so much harder than other girls because I had been braced for years. I DID end up taking 2nd for All Around in our county in my senior year. My best year of my life. The scoliosis & a heart murmur run together as well as many other health issues. Floor exercise was my favorite & I still enjoy tumbling in my head.
She is ABSOLUTELY stunning

IMHO, Coach Val is on the same level of coaching greatness as John Wooden. And I think Coach Wooden would definitely love her approach to coaching - to coach the PERSON first and the ATHLETE second. Congrats to Miss Val and Katelyn Ohashi and the whole Bruin gymnastics team.
