- Many objects we see every day have secret features that are not so obvious. And thanks to their hidden uses those items are way more useful than you may have realized. Look at the objects around you. That cap on your soda bottle, the spare change on the table... These objects and more aren’t what they seem.
For example, many people think that the hole in the middle of a pasta spoon is only there to drain hot water when you dish your spaghetti out of the pot. But its intended purpose starts before you even put the pasta in the water. If you fill this hole with dry spaghetti, it’ll be the exact amount for a single portion! Interested? Then check out these little-known but really cool facts!

Hey there! Well, what do (did) YOU use the blue side of an eraser for?
I use it for my hand. Because I’m left handed :( You know what I mean right? When you left handed your hand gets dirty when you write with a pencil.
Could you activiate the whole translation's videos yours ? please . (English=English) beacuse I want to learn English about your videos , because your videos very useful . Thank you so much .
I used it for erasing pen 😑🤦♀ ok but I don't why
BRIGHT SIDE idk
Stolen vid exact same words and ideias and order as infographics show
The typewriter one is wrong. The positioning of the letters was an attempt to separate letters that were most often used together in order to reduce the mechanism from jamming.
Using just the top row of letters, you can spell out the word "typewriter."
Also, statistics show that 52% of your typing is done with your LEFT hand: ASETC are the most common letters.
so youre saying that you are right against the bright side that have been planning this video for a month....I mean Bright Side cannot just upload this video unplanned...
you've just repeat what he said . it's weird
If you go by practicality I think qwerty will be way faster because of mostly used alphabets in hands reach
Dude thats what bright side also ment😑
Do people really not know that the spike on a cap is for the foil?
I thought that everybody knew that.
😳😳😳
@@matthewiles5714 I don't
My mom taught me this when I was like 6 or 7 yrs old
I knew the function of the spike when it came to tubes of creams and ointments, but toothpaste? Not that it would function differently, I’ve simply never used a brand of toothpaste who’s packaging had that feature.
Are there any?
2:50 this is what you came for
Thx buddy
:)
Fun or dark fact. The hole in lolly is also a safety thing in case a person starts choking on it there is enough air flow until they can get help
Ye I think we all know that
Yes i heard about that before🖒

@@friday1322 Some of us are flexible enough to get them in front of us, I did that once when I was younger and tapped on the partition. The cop told me "Nice trick but those better be behind you when we get to the station" I put my feet back through and decided not to test his patience any further.
I wanna see the person behind the voice over and would like to take English classes from him😂😂😂
And science
Actually that hole in lollipop stick is there for safety reasons. If you somehow choke with this stick, the hole prevents you from suffocating
Feniks that’s true. Surprised he didn’t mention that.
06:37 the letters for the top row of keys was apparently chosen because when the typewriters were being demonstrated you could quickly type "typewriter" using only the top row.
Typewriter 😮
So this is new wrong theory
@@lynxb8576 Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit. This is hardly "new" as I was told this over 40yrs ago when I was taught typing and it is hardly a coincidence that the top row spells typewriter.
A typewriter salesman came up with the idea of the keyboard layout. TYPEWRITER can easily be spelled on the top line making sales of the machines a no brainer because you don't have to be proficient using the layout when selling it, just the top line
The hole of the lolipop stick also has another function, its to protect children from choking when the accidentally swallow the stick, it allows them to breath while they get to the doctor
Keyboard layout, primarily objective, is to prevent neighboring common letters/keys getting stuck on each other
The keys weren't rearranged to slow down typers, it was done to space out the arms with the most commonly used letters so that they wouldn't get tangled.
I can become addicted to watching videos like this!
Wow your channel is so cool
Loved it ❤️

Who else is watching BrightSide while being home schooled?
👇🏼😊
Im not being home schooled
You need atleast one parent to be home school and I’m home alone

@STARWARS1234 - You are a week late with the comment. 🤣
Didn't he say about the lolipop stick
That he had a hole so that when we mistakenly swallow the stick, we can breathe
Most of these I literally know
Just A Dio Who's A Hero For Fun but I’m watching it anyway... I have to do an 6 page essay about stuff I didn’t study... SH-

Thanks for the video bro
Amazing video I love it keep it up 💓

The key placement is not meant to slow you down. They are placed so the most common used keys are separated to prevent the keys for jamming into each other.
I thought that cleaning the permanent marker with a whiteboard marker is a common thing
The QWERTY layout is attributed to an American inventor named Christopher Latham Sholes, and it made its debut in its earliest form on July 1, 1874 -- 142 years ago today.
Sholes had been for some years developing the typewriter, filing a patent application in October 1867. However, the original key layout, with the second half of the alphabet in order on the top row and the first half in order on the bottom row, led to some problems. The keys were mounted on metal arms, which would jam if the keys were pressed in too rapid succession.
Sholes' solution was separating commonly used letter pairings, such as "ST," to avoid these jams, effectively allowing the typist to type faster, rather than slower.
I understand why the QWERTY keyboard has stayed around: familiarity. I've been typing in the Dvorak layout for almost 30 years. Forcing myself to learn Dvorak immediately started helping my carpal tunnel syndrome clear up during a time when my job required me to type most of the day. Great video!
Erasers make for great contact cleaners.
I can't imagine a keyboard in alphabetical order. It's just... wrong
jerick fegarido I would love a keyboard that isn’t qwertyuiop. Why not?
Yea exactly
Well, they were in alphabetical order, and it caused a problem when someone typed quickly. The keys that imprint the letter would jam because of their shape. We don't go back because everyone is used to this layout.
I have a label maker with an alphabetic keyboard.. It's hard to use...
Couple things I didn't think about but most common sense
Does anyone else think it’s weird that they don’t have likes or dislikes
6:00 I always do this
Thanks for these top tips...👌
your welcone
Health Tips Tv welcome*
That's great 👍
I was able to get permanent marker off a dry-erase board with steel wool.
I love that you say pop!!!!
Thank you
The hole in the lolipop stick is also for air to go through to prevent children from choking on them
Thank you if you do some more research on the QWERTY keyboard you'll find they're put in that order because of most used keys to the least used keys accessible by the fingers. They are placed in the order that they're placed so that the least amount of movement is needed to accomplish most words
Super bro what a info
Cool one
You can also use white foam shaving cream to prevent from your mirrors from fogging up in your bathroom. 🙌🏽😊
The typewriter was also keyed so salesman could type the word "typewriter" with the top row of keys.
It made it look so easy.
-dad sold typewriters looooong ago.
I was impressed about the headrest one...def didnt know that.
I was going to say this but someone beat me to it: The typewriter one is wrong. The positioning of the letters was an attempt to separate letters that were most often used together in order to reduce the mechanism from jamming.
As a canadian I love he said "pop" and not "soda" lol
the marker trick also works with dry erase markers that won't fully come off
If mosquito bite is too itchy simply rinse water on it
Thanks this helped my bite
6:12 thats my shoes after the lockdown ends😂....And I also got the tips.
I know another thing for the lollipop if you swallow the stick the holes are to breathe
Nice 👍
Me: goes camping with family
Also me:ah f i forgot family
I’m d only one who doesn’t have rubber duck in my bathroom ? 🤨🤔
👇🏻
I love your videos
Rubber ducks are VERY useful to computer programmers.
Fun fact: that coin sound effect that Bright Side uses is actually from Terraria
Always excellent info. Thank you.
When one is often stuck at hone for health reasons and unable to shop...one learns to make do... this info has added to my repertoire of make dos

The loli stick hole actually for kids won't choke
That's what I was thinking. It's the same reason as to why the biro pen caps have a hole in them too.
A great added benefit, but not the reason behind it.
YOU PROVIDE SMALL OBJECTS OF LIFE HACKS THANKS
That sharpening knife on ceramic cup's back is the one i often do
love your vidoes

Cool facts about daily life
qwerty setup is to prevent typewriter strikers from binding from typing english words. its designed to ensure reduced chance for letters forming words to be side by side hence increasing the typing rate. not to slow down the typists.
The lollipop stick has a hole in case the child accidentally swollows it down that the airway should not remained all blocked.
So I’m the only one who has never seen a whistle on a lollipop?
I’ve seen the holes obviously but yeah never heard a whistle
NO ONE.. LITERALLY NO ONE!!!
Someone forgot to bring a mosquito repellent/healing cream on a camping trip..but you expect him to bring a whole DEODORANT???!!!!

Thanks I will use that projector trick
The toothpaste trick on mirrors works but only with totally white toothpaste like Colgate. Won't work with the blue stuff
The last one surprised me 😮
Just realised that this channel has 35 million subs been watching for ages but only though it has 3-4 mill but noooo 35 million
Now is the time to check the hidden uses of those things that we just ignore everyday
The tip regarding using white board marker in erasing the permanent marker really works. :)
I call shenanigans on the keyboard layout.
Pretty sure qwerty was made not to slow people down but create a layout where often pressed keys was long apart as if you pressed keys right next to each other it woul jam up
Amazing
Most probably not it's intended use, the car seat's head rest to break a door window in an emergency is a brilliant idea
For a minor cut that is stinging...a tiny dab of superglue will take the sting out and shield it from the environment.
Bright side: We have over 2000 vids for you to watch
Bright side in every video: if you learned something new today, give this video a like
When you look at your liked videos playlists on ur youtube account:
That's alot
Ohkày I already knew about the car headrest....
At least one...
Typewriter: Most commonly used alphabets are closer to our dominant fingers and closer to the middle row. So that typing can be done faster.
For the the mosquito bites you can put salt water on it
I thought the toothpaste cap spike was a thing everyone knew...........
Best video ever
BEST SOLUTION IS TO STOP CAMPING🤣
Hi bro love your vedio
When the point with the mosquito bites, deoderents aren't the only thing that have a cooling effect, moisturizer creams also have a cooling effect
Your qwerty keyboard comment is a bunch of horse hockey! I’ve worked with both, the ABC , yes, I’m that old, even though about the only place you could find one was at your local junk dealer and THE QWERTY. The QWERTY actually made typing faster by by making the most commonly used letters easier to reach.
Also I have heard of the whiteboard marker one :)
It had nothing to do with the speed of the typist but which letters were more commonly used and it avoided the letters stacking up on the ribbon..
that girl just minecrafted that window at 2:23
Ah yes, take shower with your 8000lbs Hummer H2 and rub tooth paste on the windows, It's freekin 90° outside
