Hello. I'm from Poland. That's why my English is poor. I have: shallow lumbar lordosis. Reduced height of the intervertebral disc at the L5/S1 level. Back slide - L5 moved back relative to S1 by 2 mm. Is it retrolisthesis or spondylolisthesis? I went to three physiotherapists and two said it was probably spondylolisthesis and the third one said retroslisthesis. Reduced disc height is a discopathy? I bought a book from you about retrolisthesis :) But is it retrolisthesis or spondylolisthesis?

Typically, with decreased lordosis and a backwards vertebral displacement in relation to the vertebrae below is hallmark for retrolisthesis. Generally these cases are aggravated with flexion (bending forward) and relieved with extension (bending back) which is a theme in rehab for most with this condition. The exception to this is when extension s more aggravating due to associated stenosis, facet imbrication, etc. As always the rehab has to be designed around the unique individual's spinal function and not merely the anatomical diagnosis
