I watched this dvd just last night and I have to say from the entire line up of amazing women, even including Jennifer Holiday, this woman blew them ALL out of the water vocally. Why she did not get a standing ovation yet others did was crazy. One of the best female voices I've heard for a VERY long time!
I went and saw her sing last night and was in a trance from the very start. This woman has the most amazing control over her voice I have ever seen....she was PERFECT. If you ever just want to hear somone sing perfectly go see her...she will blow you away...I'm not kidding...it was freakin astounding! She's a goddess.
I saw her live a few weeks ago. All I can say to your post is AMEN! She is absolutely flawless. Her voice live is beyond description. Anybody who says otherwise needs to go hear her sing. Greatness simply can't be denied. Linda Eder is "The Voice"..hands down.
Ive only just dicovered Linda...and now I cant get enough of her fantastic talent..THAT VOICE!!! ..beautiful woman, beautiful soul, beatiful voice.........im bewitched xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
She is the music world's best kept secret: the most talented singer ever, yet she is not widely known. I've seen her live four times, and she is absolutely stunning, never missing a single note.
Seen her 5 times. It is breathtaking, and NOT to be missed if she is in town. The audience found it difficult to not stand up after EVERY song. She is the musical world's best kept secret.
Oh.my.GOODNESS. I've heard this song hundreds of times but this is the first time I've watched her sing it. Her whistle voice is INCREDIBLE. And she transitions into it so flawlessly and effortlessly. Why does she have to make it look so easy? Gahh. I love her voice!
Saw Katerina Witt skate to this song. Great performance, loved the song and made it my mission to track down the singer. So glad I did. Linda is amazing!
Her voice is as beautiful as she is. And she sounds nothing like Barbra Streisand.Thank God! She has the voice, range, power and beauty! What a combination! Streisand, is now a "Linda Eder" want to be!
When I saw her live I about fell out of my chair...she was that amazing. The control she has over her voice is astounding. And ya, the key change at 2:26 kicks ass!
Love this song. She is awesome. I seen her in concert in Orem Utah in June. So very awwwwwwesome. Great lady and a voice that won't quit. She has a very good time with her audiences. Lots of fun. I hope she comes that close again. Great Performance.
Linda Eder is magnificent. She is the only singer who can match Streisand in range and intensity. The control she has over her vocals is amazing. Simply put....I LOVE THIS WOMAN!!!
I have never seen her live either but it was actually this video on broadway ladies that I saw her the first time. I have the surround sound cranked and it totally blew me away. I had to keep replaying it. Since then I am a super fan.
Good heavens! How can anyone sing that well? How can any listener not give this performance 5 stars???? I'm showing this to my college vocal students tomorrow!
You have perfect taste. The same thing happened to me in 1998, I was spellbound from the first note. Trust me though, you MUST MUST see her live. Its basically the whole audience just in shock and awe for two hours and giving her standing ovations, one after another.
God, she is just astounding. I love that she took a guy's song and was just like "I'm gonna fuckin' sing this, deal with it." She's a powerhouse. Love it.
my mom used to sing this when I was little at events and I always bugged her to sing it o me lol. This is amazing! What a voice! And live! Damn girl, you got it.
I love this scintillating version, certainly better than any guy ever sang it and there's some seriously stunning performances out there, this one tops them all, it even changed how I did my instrumental arrangement of this song (available on CZcams), thank you Linda and whoever arranged that tricky set of charts for an orchestra.
I saw her at the kennedy center in september doing her Judy Garland CD and it was PHENOMENAL. Ugh, this is SO fierce. I wish she would do broadway again
actually, i have a number of vocal coach friends, one of which who has worked for the likes of Webber, and they all say she has amazing technical and emotional ability, and she IS what people should strive for.
This is a excellent example of a singer going from chest voice through MIDDLE VOICE and into head voice seamlessly. If you want to know more about middle voice check out the book "Set Your Voice Free" by Roger Love. It has done wonders for my voice. He's the guy who coached Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon for the Johnny Cash flick.
I have Chris, many times. Though I like Liza she never had that lush, full, clear, powerful voice Judy had. Judy's voice was another freak of nature..lol....she was amazing!
I hope Ms. Eder comes to Albuquerque--better yet Santa Fe! I'll be first line for tickets!! She blows away any other singer out there!!!!--sort of a cross between Streisand and Ethel Merman--but ends up being all Linda Eder!!

She hits it out of the ball park every single time!!! Probably THE best voice in the business today.

"I found true love!"
Because I too have found it ;-)
I saw her at the kennedy center in september doing her Judy Garland CD and it was PHENOMENAL.
Ugh, this is SO fierce. I wish she would do broadway again
Going to see her this Friday, I am so excited!!
I have Colm Wilkinson's version as well. His version is great too of course. Reportedly he was the one who convinced Linda Eder to record the song.
She is outstanding! Loves Streisand and is best friends w/O'Donnell, she is outstanding and shares good company!
this song has inspired me to start reading "Don Quixote"--ole!!
I aspire to reach such vocal hights. Amazing and extremely enjoyable!

Anyone in the Toronto Ontario area, Linda will be performing at the Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts April 28 and 29!

wow...i love that long high not she hits at 2:08.
Bravo Linda!
my favorite part is the quick eyebrow raise at 2:20 -- it's like she's saying, "yea, you think this is good; just wait!"

Now here's a real singing star!
Absolutely awesome!
