The Science of peaking for the competitive bodybuilding stage has never been studied. This review of research done by Natural Bodybuilders explains different strategies and why they may not work, and the science behind it.
Thanks for watching the discussion if you would like more detail on the Linear Progressive Load as a peaking strategy please let me know! Happy New Year!
Yes! I'm fascinated by the peaking protocol and would love to hear more about it!
Yes, please do a video on the Linear Progressive Load! I'm a newbie and want to get as much info as I can.
Yes!
Yes!!!
Yes please !
I don’t think most people, even gym goers, realize just how much technique and dedication goes into getting truly shredded. By shredded I’m referring to stage lean. I don’t consider myself to have a very good grasp on this subject but at least I’m getting the concept now and trying to watch Paul’s videos to learn from them. It’s such a deep subject and it frustrates me when friends or family think they know what they are talking about but clearly don’t. Results are the evidence that what someone is doing truly works or not. People throw the word “science” around but it’s only a word. Guys like Paul really delve into the specifics on these matters and I know everyone here really appreciates this content. At the end of the day, I’m an idiot that thought I knew a lot about fitness/bodybuilding/fat loss...but really I’ve got soooo much to learn. I just wish my friends and family would realize they don’t know it all either lol.
One of your best description of the process. Thanks!
Great vid! Would love to see a more in depth video on the progressive approach, perhaps also touching base on the general terminilogy you had mentioned like “Spilling over” and “Flatter / Harder”
Thanks for the info. I saved this video. Happy new year Paul.
Yes please do a video on linear prog. Loading for peak week!
Yas Paul! We want to know more about this approach!
This was beyond helpful! Thank you Paul!!
I think I might want to finally have a conversation with you after my first show this year in 3 weeks to see if maybe we can work together for Nationals. I've been creeping your content for a while but enjoy prepping myself, but I want to get to the next level and learn more, and I like the way you approach prep.
Hi Paul, yes, please do a video on progressive linear loading. That would be awesome thanks 😊
Great video! Very helpful - thanks!!
As always fantastic and very informative content here . Thank you Paul. I wish I saw this video before my comp, I would do a lot of things differently 🙂
You’re welcome 😉
Happy 2019 Paul, I absolutely love your videos
Thanks 🙏
I loved that coach!! So awesome and everyone is different so it’s good to experiment. Thanks always for all you do! Happy New year to you and your family!! You going to the ARNOLD?
I’d really enjoy a video on your explaining the linear progressive model a little more in depth please!
Yes please do a linear progressive load video!
My thanks to whomever served our nation as per that encased flag on your shelf. Thank you.
My mom thank you
If you do make another vid about this can you add why you first deplete then fill out ? Love your informative vids. Happy new year
I will do one in more detail, but to be clear I don't deplete.
Happy New Year Paul!!
You too Jennifer
Super interesting! I think the human body is fascinating :)
Yes and it’s crazier the leaner we are
Extremely excited for this new peaking protocol 😍
Soon
Is it out yet?
Awesome thanks so much!
With LPL do you bring down protein and fats or keep them the same?
very interesting thansk for sharing!
You’re welcome!
Thank you! @Paulrevelia for the this great information, im currently coaching my wafe for her first wellness competition, i haven’t train in almost a year and doing bodybuilding stuff. I needed a lil help during her peak week which is this week, but now you help me out and open the door for new strategies.
in terms of better performance and strength - do you think it makes any sense to add a pinch of salt to water you drink during your training?
When you increase carbs to fill out, do you stay in a calorie deficit or do you increase calories as well as carbs?
refeed numbers
Good morning sir. So you keep water high/the same throughout peak week with the exception of show day?
Love it!!!
Thanks Laurene
I like the analogy of the balloon, for someone who just wants to look good without prepping you would probably recommend eating in a similar way? Adding carbs slowly maybe not each day but each week after a cut, pretty much a reverse diet😝 When you think about it, linear peeking is pretty much a reverse diet on a shorter timeframe.
Funny you mention that, it's how we figured out this was the best way to peak because athlete's who reverse dieted between shows would get leaner and harder while adding food and doing less cardio.
Paul Revelia makes sence, it really motivates me to reverse diet properly after my cut!
Awesome contest Paul. Question... what if you have to make weight (3pm) and need to deplete to do so and then need to carb up as quickly as possible for the following morning? Is there anything one can do other than eating as many carbs as possible? Thank you.
yes make sure they digest easy, increase sodium and fluids as well.
Linear progressive loading.. noted❤️
Well done
Thanks JC
Hi I've inquired and requested you for coaching for a couple of years now. Do other coaches on your team follow the same protocol and approach?
Of course setup a
Free call
Great videos. You do any coaching?
Paul, do you have any experience experimenting with glycogen supercompensation? Popular technique in the world of endurance sports.
endurance athletes are not worried about appearance, I am very familiar with the concept but I have seen disastrous results trying to look 2% better and ending up 20% worse.
THanks you :)
Yes make á video on liner progressive.... please
Hi been watching you for years… I’m about to start my 500cal per day detox it’s super hard… but I have a lot of weight and body fat to drop… my issue is how do you reverse diet? Need so much help in this…
So deplete the week before and then slowly add carbs everyday the following week? How do you determine how many carbs to start with at the beginning of peak week?
No depleting, carbs start at normal numbers
So diet until absolutely shredded. Once shredded, start adding 40-50 grams of carbs to your current carbs for a full week while monitoring progress up until show day?
So sodium and water doesn't change even on a show day?
Great video, thank-you! Although every OCB natural show I’ve done the bikini girls seem to all still be cutting water, all I hear backstage is how thirsty and dehydrated they all are :-/
I consider this my advantage
How to manipulate creatine during peak week!?
Should i cut creatine!?
Nope
Why not?
Doesn't Creatine make you retain fluids?
@@camilosanhueza5581 I believe the fluids it makes you retain are intramuscular, so they do not affect you negatively.
@@guillermolanderos2852 I believe the same and thanks by the way
So if you're not truly stage lean...is manipulating water a good idea?
It can help yes
Found it!
Anyone else going on a Paul Revelia binge?
haha love to hear it!
Intro music. Annoying
Thanks for the feedback/
Keeping everything boring ensures sodium maintenance and aldosterone levels low
yes it works very well for that as well.
Why am I getting all the old videos lol
i guess youtube think you want to watch them!
@@PaulRevelia I am :)
