That's great performance. The core didn't seperate from the jacket, and had good expansion. Can't ask for any more than that!

That's a great factory ammo. I use the same Federal 150 grain in a 30-06 and it works great for me!

I love how everyone is buying these new boutique cartridges… the .308 has killed plenty of elk and deer. You don’t need a .300 super ultra mag that makes you flinch. Just do your job and it drops em. I love the little brother (.243 win.) for deer and coyotes.
    Thanks for the video

I had a few 150 grain projectiles not exit deer in my 30-06. I went back to 180 grainer’s. Never had one not exit a deer since I started hunting with them in the early 80’s.

It's funny, Everyone is telling us that we need a polimer pointed or solid copper or partition bullet to kill game but for some reason old soft points do just fine, IMHO especially Federals do it best with my 270 holding 1" at 100 yards. Not bad for $19.95 ammo.
I was out on a last minute hunt last year and I popped a doe at 80 yards with a 30/30 Marlin 336 I had in my truck and she buckled and dropped. I was using Federals 125 gr. Hollow Point Power-Shok 30/30 loading. I also recovered the bullet high in the shoulder and it looked much like yours, nothing but purple soup on the chest. Works for me.

I am using these too, but also like the Fusion. I wonder how well these perfom on feral hogs? Would I be better going with a solid copper tipped hollow point?

The non typical, fusions, Hornady white tail, good old corelokts or express. They all work just great on deer n such.
If I were out west shooting 3 counties across I’d probably want a premium bullet, but in the deer woods? Those low ended work great.
As a matter of fact, some of the best groups I’ve shot with my savage 06 were with 165gr fusions. Just under 3/4” several times.
And they drop deer like a boat anchor.

Core lokts are $15.99 and have kept my freezer full of venison for a long time. The deer doesn’t know what kind of bullet hit him. Always something claiming to be bigger and better. Any brand name soft point is going to do the job if you do yours.
