Meeting Richie Cunningham on a blind date with Laverne meeting her date with FONZIE. One of my favorite HAPPY days episode. Also. I knew I was going to be a of hers when L & S premiered their show. Because I knew she loved animals. And I was about 10 - 11yrs old. And I always loved her when she first wore that skirt with that little kitty on the bottom of her skirt to meet her blind date with Richie Cunningham I knew she caught my attention right away. Literally my heart fell in my stomach. Now I know she's going to meet with her and in heaven and you'll be singing shameel shamazel. Same here. Nearly every day it's someone from childhood in the world of sports, music, movies, TV, etc. Even a number of those people a generation ahead of me that I know in my personal life have left this world in recent years.
There was a pleasantness about Cindy and her work. She is one of the few actors I will stop and watch their work no matter what it had been. I found her recent work on Hallmark and Lifetime enjoyable too. She aged gracefully and brought a subtleness to her characters that made her performances even more amazing. The woman could act. Her work on Laverne and Shirley was really impressive. I always felt Cindy was the better actress of the two and deliberately underplayed her character to enhance Penny Marshall's character for the betterment of the show. I mean you can't have two characters over the top and Cindy sort of taking the straight person's role really made Laverne and Shirley work.
Sad to hear her passing but when I was a kids back then I use too love whacting Laverne and Shirley they always made me laugh back then .But prayers to her family.
