I would put the Ox Beetles in S. You need the horn for supreme whetstone. And since supreme material is very difficult to come by, it makes the horn an extremely valuable item. So I would put the Ox Beetles in S easily
A black ox beetles aren’t useful for anything else only for useless armour and Hammer and supreme isn’t that hard to find
Technically you could get the horn from the tier 3 web sacs in the widow den though. But I understand Ox Beetles are very good. Personally I find the rock attack annoying when trying to run through the yard using 2 handed weapons as I can't block it.
@@Jorg2378 bro you need 30 whole-ass supreme rocks for a single level 9 mighty weapon. The quartzite and marble rocks are a meagre starter bonus and irrelevant to this discussion

4:04 You actually need black ant mandibles for the shovel, but I understand why you thought the shovel didn’t need mandibles because the shovel doesn’t appear to have any spikes or sharp edges on it
And also you have absolutely have to have the black and shovel for gum nuggets at the end of the game for the mission
Yeah apologies for misremembering the recipe. Although you don't need the tier 2 shovel to beat the game you can use splatbursts or bomb arrows to get the gum nuggets

will say that scarab is the highest S tier for me, they are difficult to catch if looking in the garden however 4 spawn in a pipe in the undershed which are extremely easy to farm as they cant run or dig in that spot
True but you don't NEED them to beat the game, you could just upgrade your weapons to level 7. Like the extra 2 levels only gives another 10-20% additional damage

I'd put the mite in A or S tier just because of the Fuzz on the rocks smoothie and because my friends are always asking for more of their fuzz. Not only that, but they are the best bugs to kill if you want to level up your mutations easily.

Ant lions are actually really easy to kill if you know what to do. You can just wait for them to spawn near the entrance to the sandbox and lure them to the red part of it so they can’t dig
14:01 you know they won't make you immune if they add that, remember what happened to the anti-haze and stinkbug Ominent card? The best we'd get is either lower time with it on or the debuff is reduced.
I don't know, if it was an armor piece like the gas mask I think it'd make you immune. But if it was an accessory then maybe not

Aphid in my opinion should be higher because of the aphid slippers makes mobility so much easier
I'd put Lawn Mites in S tier for one reason, weapon mutations. Even if you just want tier 1 of them all for the score card you need 40 kills with the following: fists, club, spear, sword, dagger, bow/crossbow, axe, hammer, staff. That's 360 kills minimum all using a specific weapon type. I barely have that many creatures killed on my main file where I'm at 65% completion, and what's worse is that harmless creatures don't count. There's a ton of them near the fallen branch and paint can and they respawn pretty often so being able to go over there and get a bunch of progress for your mutations is really nice
Didn't even consider this but I see what you mean, mites and spiderlings are both good for farming mutations.

Ladybug is definitely S tier .. I ran the whole game with my ladybug armor it’s sooooo good , but then I’m also good with perfect blocking.
Ladybug is easy to perfect block too. If you just walk back after every combo it will always do the charge attack which is the easiest to block by FAR
I have to be with the youtuber, wiring mechanics would be really fun and add a whole new twist to the game
Thanks, obviously the idea stems from games like Minecraft and Terraria that have similar function but I just think it would be nice to have robots that can use the garden patches, ovens, grinders, spinning wheels etc.

Also FUN FACT: when the wolf spider is doing the combo bites, remember it will fake the third bite so you can't block the real bite.

It does attack on its 3rd attack, but you don't getting attack by it if you like backing up

i am kinda happy i am not the only one hating on the ladybird larva , they are so strong for no reason.. and when they group on you you re dead 9/10 times
1:05 In my first playthrough I couldn't find the trash pile anthill entrance so my friends and I did all the sandbox and picnic table content (besides the mixr) before we defeated the Assistant Manager... 😅 do people really usually first enter the sandbox from the anthill?

No I think I built into the sandbox the first time too. Also meaty gnats drop more meat but by the time you've killed them you can't carry it all anyway

I usually go to the lamp by the oak tree at nighttime to kill gnats because there’s usually about 10 gnats there. Also when you do the mosquitoes they are D tier in my opinion. S tier at being annoying
LOL, if you want to kill them during the day you can use the spoiled meat slurry to attract them all too

A great early game function is if ziplines told you which way you would go so you place them correctly

@@Paraly5er some ziplines are very long, and there is no elevation markers in the game. Pre-ZipR, you could wind up building a zipline that slopes the wrong way.
If there’s enemy thing I am missing it’s probably not that important the item that lets you stay under water for 185 seconds

You need gum to complete the game(for the cell) and the shovel needs the mandible to create it.

@@Ari-mw5vh you can use splatbursts to harvest tier 2 materials. Bomb arrows with a tier 3 crossbow can harvest tier 3 materials.

I'd put the mant in the A tier at least because the music is frickin mantizing
I don't think diving bell's should be in D,I think it should be in low C just because they give oxygen back when you kill them which is super useful if you don't have the bubble helmet yet.
The oxygen can be very useful actually, you've got me convinced
I would put the Mantis in A tear because cuz you can make the size of blossoms and the assassin's armor and he gives you the apex predator mutation
I think the diving bell spider should be 1 tier up. The reason for this is because you're not accounting for gold cards, and with the length of time it takes to kill so many diving bells it's easily 1 of the hardest 10 gold cards to get.
Nah it's not a hard gold to get at all. I could easily name 10 harder to get.

tip for you friend since you hate larva (rightfully so) keep a fresh rusted spear on you at all times, mine is +7 (no perk needed but it will take out the rng) and you can throw it and one to two shot them super fast, sometimes tho it wont one shot and i know its not crit thats doing it.
Yeah the spear is a good choice for sure. I usually use a fresh CotMD which kills in 1 combo typically
The Black Ox Beetle is easily S tier. I have had success killing them with an unupgraded tier 2 Hammer. All of their attacks are slower and more telegraphed than those of the Black Widow, who drops things that are irrelevant to many playstyles. However, the Black Ox Beetle's drops are relevant to every playstyle.
To compare it to another bug you consider S tier, additional Ladybug Heads beyond the first handful do nothing for your progression or crafting ability. All of the Black Ox Beetle Parts and Horns, on the other hand, are infinitely consumable and useful regardless of when you get them.
Agreed although some attacks like the Boulder cannot be blocked without a shield and I find it hard to see the 180 attack that it does coming tbh. I do agree that they are very useful though
@@Paraly5er That's very interesting to hear.
I have seen some discussion on Grounded where people complain about how the combat feels entirely centered around perfect blocking. I think this has to do with why bows feel so clunky to people so hopefully the update alleviates some of those difficulties.
Anyway, I think it's a good thing that some attacks require you to jump over them instead. It makes the combat more complicated and therefore (to me) more interesting but I understand that not everyone wants that.
@@Paraly5er also, as a tip for its turning around attack, I block right after it sort of rears back like "omg i think i mightve shit myself"

Meaty gnats by the garbage bags drop 60 rotten food. Awesome for fertilizing muscle sprout farms.
I build a floating 30 plot farm above the pond lab. Dive down grab 30 sprouts from the lab. Plant all 30 with full fertilizer. Come back after a couple in game days and get between 60 and 120 muscle sprouts.
Not a horrible idea just feel like it’s easier to just not use any fertiliser
@Paraly5er it is, but then you only get a two for one yield. Hit one of these and the yield sky rockets for minimal effort.

Black widow is legit the hardest enemy in the game with the exception of the mantis which is a boss. Dude says they're not too hard to kill
Depends how much experience you have. Personally I've killed a LOT of wolf spiders and orb weavers so I find the widow easy to kill as it has the same attacks. The mantis is a PAIN though.

Only 3 pets in the game. Currently the aphid is the best imo as it has the best buff. The weevil is the worst because it gets attacked by ants and has an average buff. Gnat is in the middle

Still a thing. You perfect block the attacks and still get debuffs. It annoys the crap outta me. A player shouldn't be punished for perfect play especially when parrying is the only option

It's just a common thing in gaming and tier lists to have S above A, idk why tbh. Aphid and weevil aren't at the bottom because it isn't ranked based on how easy it is to kill them. They both are useful as they give food
Google says The tier system is based on the American grading system, but the S rank was borrowed from the Japanese grading system. While S is most often used in a pass/fail context to indicate “satisfactory” performance in the U.S., the Japanese school systems added an S rank above A to allow a wider spectrum of possible grades.
Also most Tierlist have F-Tier as well F-Tier is the most useless char for example and not good in anything.
Cars also use the tierlist for example Mecedes S class or A class.
For me the mantis things should get buffed because he is very dificult to kill when the broodmother is pretty easy and has the best things of the game
For me the Broodmother is easier to kill AND has better drops so I agree that the Mantis needs to be nerfed or buff the items you can craft from it

But the whole story build up to him and then he's just WAY to easy. It was underwhelming the first time I fought him because it wasn't even hard.

That black widow aged badly... I think the black widow rn is C tier. Although it gives some of the best loot in the game, you will need some of the best loot in the game too to kill it as well as giddy goo. I tried to kill it on woah mode with sour battle axe and assassin armor all at level 9... without giddy goo it's almost impossible:
-The web attack is unpredictable when the widow wants and takes a quarter of your health. However, I like the idea of it spitting a black widowling too and healing with it;
-The attacks sometimes are too fast to perfect block, even if you spam the block button, there will always be an attack slipping through because the attacks are faster than the game allows you to perfect block;
-The buff from killing a black widowling is horrendous: I am fine with healing, but increasing the attack speed even more???.
I do not think the black widow is an enemy that rewards a player that got a good timing with perfect blocks and that got good gear, as it used to be like. Now you need to have a lot of preparation and giddy goo too... I don't like it, it would be perfect if they just added the web attack without the speed increase after eating the widowling: it would be better to have another buff such as increased attack or change the resistance type to spicy for some seconds to make the fight more interesting.
It is also a very annoying enemy beacuse you can get unlucky and get the widowling under the black widow right after the web throw, making it impossible to kill the widowling before being eaten.
P.S.: I obviously killed some black widows once I got giddy goo, it makes the fight easier if you perfect block most attacks: it is a must-have to kill black widows unfortunately.
