Phenomenal video Timber. Awesome advice across the board. Keep up the good stuff man. Thanks for the fly arounds.
Absolutely loved this video! The content was super engaging and well-presented. Keep up the great work! Can't wait to see more from you! 😊
I can just imagine the kids or the wife coming out one day and seeing these structures and being like WTF
@@TimberBuilds that would be hilarious. I don't think we ever see a picture of his kids and wife.
@@NPC_037if you mean Wendell then you do. There’s one in a small room in the hedge
Thank you for all the tips, really enjoyed watching - you have amazing builds! Inspired me a lot 🙂
10 min in and I'm just now hearing you're an architect irl lmao, dope builds my dude. I have many long nights ahead of me c:
its does help ha, but overall put the time into building and you can make amazing things too!
Thank you so much I can tell you put a lot of work into this project 😃
Thank you, these builds and video took awhile but was worth it to help other people build better!
I found using the weapon mounts made a fancy back panel for mounting sap torches on.
Armour dummies were great for mounting glow bug helmets on, giving a spotlight beam you could angle by altering the dummies animation pose.
Yeah the weapon mounts are great! I wish you could change the spotlight on the helmet though! I’m not a fan of the color of the light. But I’ve seen it used before.
I just build for functionality over looks personally lol...grass and weed warehouse at floor level, craft table and chests on 2nd floor, and all the other factory type items on 3rd floor/ roof... all within a 5 by 5
Everyone has their own way of playing I just like that building in a game can really extend the playability of a game!
I also use the Tier system for sorting items, as well as if it's a bug drop or not. Only issue is that T2 doesn't have many items, and a handful don't have a tier
Yeah it’s easy at first but once you get to those last items it gets weird haha and all the new stuff has totally messed up my organization ha
My favorite thing to build is a big box to put a lot of little boxes inside it that hold all my piles of things.
Do you have a problem with object limit? I started building a castle and the object limit is halfway through..
Oh my goodness.. you built all of this in survival?
Those are some impressive monuments of art my friend.
Well done. 🍻
Yeah I'm a bit crazy hahaha but thank you. I like that everything I do can be done in someone's survival word with enough effort.
@@TimberBuilds Oh trust me.. I get it.
It's the only way to go.
Creative gets way too boring.
The satisfying challenge of completing huge bases on survival games IN 'survival mode' is key to the appreciation of the project.
I used to play Ark: Survival Evolved way too much (4000+ hours) and was obsessed with building.. both PvE and PvP bases.
I just got into Grounded recently and have a very cozy cabin lodge built on the Baseball. ⚾
Going to start a base at the Oak tree probably next!
When do you unlock that lil Gnat builder.?
@@cheefnanook yeah creative loses my interest too fast i like the story alot. the gnat is unlocked in new game + 1 or if you dont want to wait and dont care about achievements you can change to a custom game and just activate the gnat to use it. thats what i did, then they released the gnat in NG+ the next update hahaha
@@TimberBuilds Right, for real? 😅
Creative is best used for testing different building designs to see if they're worth implementing to your survival builds.. but there is only so much creative you can play before you cave in and have to switch back to the normal gameplay 😅
Oh for sure, that gnat definitely would make building much faster! Alright, well I guess I'll just see which one comes first.. either 100% achievements or NG+. Till then I'll just endure with scaffolding the taller building projects.
2:44 you will, I HAVE to make black ox burgers becose I had alredy collected full pinecon chest of repair glue + one line of those in one of the other chest and still have like 5 extra stacks. They should realy boost black ox horns drop.
3:48 lint? You have about 100 in the undershed in one place. I thing in whole place there could be around even 150 of it. Coal? Toenails? Yes. You are right
11:27 those bases are amazing! Had I seen one of those? That rainbow bridge is simular...
Very few items will overflow unless you are trying to max out armor sets and weapons, this is mostly talking about early game as eventually you will need millions. But there’s nothing better than having excess of them to make repair glue! NG+ makes you need a ton of it
❤ the builds. You ever considered using this talent in V Rising? It might be marvelous.
Thank you :) I will be branching out to other games at some point but have just been focused on grounded at the moment.
Nice Video, I think my biggest frustration in most survival sandbox games is the limiting build mechanics.... Like Grounded and Valheim I have looked at the Best builds on CZcams and they all seem to be here is a huge castle or hut everything feels so same-y....Subnatica was look at my HUGE submarine base.... I think my favorite build survival sandbox game has got to be No Man Sky as it really has no limits. (other then the 3,000 parts per base limit and 16K parts per Save file but game gives me 15 saves so not much of a limit there) But if I want a Wild west town... ( I can build it) if I want a Super futuristic Spaceship (I can build that) if I want a Medieval Castle, (I can Build that) or a Pirate theme (Shocker I can build it) it was the only game I can build anything from any time period and I was hoping I could find more of that in Grounded, but I cannot... all bases look same-y. Valheim, Enshrouded too... Fallout 4, and Subnautica all suffer the same thing Yes there are some amazing builds in all these games but they all look like castles and not that many fall outside this same-y for lack of a better word. Is there Glitch Building where I can resize or make Items Bigger or in a different orientation then the game WANTS me to place it? NMS has glitch building and because of this In NMS I've seen Builds from Wild Wild West to another community planet that has Pirate ships, then I go to another and its filled with massive Villas and Another has Pyramids, others have actual pictures like Van Gough Art! Scenes directly out of Horizon Forbidden West or Final Fantasy Bases... Its truly crazy because Blender Builders exist as well and I don't think one can build in blender in any other survival sandbox game... (please let me know if I am wrong, I want to find a game where building feels as fulfilling as it does in NMS) I wish there were more games Like NMS as I have like 3000+ hours in that game, and want Variety and I bought grounded but felt like it is missing a lot... But I guess its because it is held back and limited.
I haven’t played or watched much on NMS so hard for me to compare but all building games have some sort of limit but often I find it’s because people haven’t put enough time in them. Yes a lot of builds look like castle in grounded but most people don’t have 2k hours testing new designs out using different materials. I think in any of the games you mentioned you can design cool unique things but it takes a deep knowledge of the build mechanics to get comfortable and not just build the easy stuff. Grounders materials are a bit limiting but I’ve seen Japanese architecture, castles, ships, temples, pyramids, and much more and I feel the same about enshrouded and valheim if you don’t put in the hours and master the building it’s hard to build unique things but I’ve seen insane builds in all those games but each is going to cater to a specific building I have yet to play a game that is just limitless as build mechanics can be hard and aren’t typically the thing the minority of players are going to do anyways. I’m going to be playing more enshrouded eventually once the next update is out and I can guarantee I can make a lot of unique builds in it that aren’t castles as the material library is pretty massive. But at the end of the day I love grounded and that’s why I build in it, same with you and NMS you have to love the base game enough to want to build endlessly in it. But I think a variety of games to build in is always good and you should build in multiple games and not just get stuck in one since they all offer unique options.
Not everyone’s thing but you can do playgrounds in grounded so custom modes and make really insane things but it’s not survival so might not be what you’re looking for but you have full power over sizing and other cool blocks as well!
@@TimberBuilds Yes I agree all games have strengths and weaknesses, and one does have to know or gain a level of mastery to make some amazing things, but I have put a LOAD of hours in Fallout 4 and Subnautica... I beat Subnautica like 3 times and had about 400ish hours in Fallout 4. I can say the building Mechanics are limited and I cannot accomplish even a fraction of what one can accomplish in NMS just look up you tube videos of best base builds for Subnautica, Fallout 4, Enshrouded, Valhiem or Grounded and you will see what I mean... Now look up base builds or glitch building for NMS... There is a Significant difference here... Because of glitch building... and Blender. I am looking for a game that has some of those elements... The creators of NMS didn't intend on glitches to enhance the game... But it opened a world to its builders. When I say I can build anything I mean it and coupled by the fact I can build a base upload it and ANYONE can visit my base anytime they want. No keys no world share or me being online required... I am looking for another game LIKE it and I am still searching. So I pose the question to the community and maybe there was a title that allows blender or has glitches that I didn't know about... Cannot be Minecraft... (That game ILL never play)...lmao just looking at it gives me headaches and everything looks like pixel trash. So even If it is Minecraft sorry its a miss... and Im not trying to sell people on NMS... I am just looking for another game to build in and I always find myself going back to NMS even though I love other games. The Building is just so robust and rewarding in NMS, and I wish I felt that way in Valheim or heck anything else.
@@TimberBuilds BTW your tips apply to all the games Ive mentioned, So its a GREAT build video and applies to so much more then just Grounded! Especially the Lighting Tip!
@@jimman-beard2167 yeah I was hoping it would help other games as well :) I’ll have to make a video on video game build tips that covers more builds I’ve done!
I’m trying to use your half floor method for building that structure on the pond but keeps coming up with unsupported?
If you can join the discord that’s the easiest place to help people with the build!
Hey do you loss ur built in gm0 when u go gm1etc...ps i just buy the game like 1week ago
Everything is saved when you go to new game plus. You only start the story over all builds and items stay.
you should make a playground that's a crazy base like this for other people to explore
ive been thinking about getting into playgrounds. maybe after i finish this sandbox base.
With the lighting... doesn't the light run out after some time, or does it constantly stay on?
Did anyone else notice that he has 1.7k sap 4.5k dry grass chunks and 2k springs?
People comment on my live streams about that stuff all the time haha you can collect a lot more of that than you think!
Bro do you play Enshrouded? With your creativity you could make some amazing things. It’s the best game for building I’ve ever played, and the gameplay and world are pretty fucking awesome too.
Edit) just read you’re an architect. You must play Enshrouded, you have so much more freedom build-wise than grounded. You can build a whole ass Hobbiton if you want, or tree houses, absolutely anything.
I have played it and will definitely be streaming it at some point just want to finish up these grounded builds then I’ll start expanding to other building games
@@TimberBuildsnice! This is the first of your videos I’ve ever watched and Holy Shit these are amazing structures you’ve made.
@@TimberBuildsalso, Sons of the Forest is amazing for free form building. And the game itself is super addictive, great graphics and story.
@@nerdoutreachprogram5358 thank you :) I build in just about any game I can so I’m hoping to get into other games soon! Just haven’t been able to put grounded down ha
Never have to much homie
How can i use that gnat? It would be much helpfull to build my bases
There’s two ways you can’t unlock it, first is to get to new game +1 and it’s automatically enabled, if you aren’t that far yet then you can change your game to custom and turn it on, but you lose out on achievements from doing this.
@@TimberBuilds Thanks a lot! I guess I'll rush the bosses so that i can get to ng+1
@@Fingfog only thing I’d be careful of if you want things like gold cards is they get slot harder to get in NG+
Grounded noob here, how are you a fly? zipping around building?
That’s the handy gnat, you unlock it in new game +1 or it can be turned on if you change your game to a custom game.
Would love for you to feature my base. It’s absolutely amazing. 🙏
@@britneygrecia4521 shoot me a message on discord and we can work out a time to do a base tour!
should I resort to building bases once I 100% grounded so I still have stuff to do
I like to build bases specifically because it extends the playthrough. i tend to like to do it while I'm progressing/getting 100% to fill time so i dont just blow through the story super fast.
@@stickmanshenanigians if I do build in playgrounds it’ll all be streamed! So everyone will get the code as well
Where can i find that axe?!?!?
Guessing you are asking about the battle axes, they are unlocked in new Game + and purchased form the ASL terminal at field stations for Raw science.
Do you have a problem with object limit? I started building a castle and the object limit is halfway through..
I don’t have any issues but that’s because it’s just a setting you can change in the menu to no limit.
I did not know you could pose the mannequins, awesome!
