RJ you should do an episode how to dial in good fuzz tones with different style pedals and amps. Your tone is always smooth without high end harshness, even when you play with octave fuzz.
It would be nice to see his process, but I'd bet a lot of it is down to his signal path. He's usually running into a Friedman gained up pretty good which compresses and removes a lot of the nastiness of a fuzz that you get running one into a cleaner amp.
@@AndrewNuttall I would guess the opposite, that he is running something with high headroom and using the pedal volume to hear more of the pedal because to me I don't hear it blending with amp distortion which in my experience adds too much extra nastiness, on small tube amps anyway.

Andrew is bang-on here; listen to his base sound at 2:45 - it's a warm semi-clean tone that'll smooth-out anything spiky, plus he's gunning the output so it's FURTHER pushing the preamp.

Couldn't resist; placed my order with Silktone 5 minutes into the demo. Maybe this is the fuzz I can live with. One request; please do a follow up demo with vibe and wah in the signal chain with the Silktone fuzz; thanks.

Can anyone tell me how the noise floor is on this pedal? Obviously, with the gain diimed, a germanium fuzz will add some noise but I’m looking for a general idea. Thanks

It’s like $250. Most reasonable “fancy” fuzz I’ve seen. Saw what an Austin Pride costs on reverb and started laughing, but this ain’t too bad

Fuzz is such a simple circuit I've been very let's say underwhelmed of the last few fuzz's that sounded killer on tube demo's that I've purchased Sun Face is the winner for me right now
50 years on and still no fuzz that will play ALL chords, some play triads but not cowboy chords etc. Would seem to me a modeler engineer could record one string at time then combine them and harmonize . Synthesizer attempts were successful but not with guitar sounds, carry on with your good youtubes
