There had been several real cases of Tory and other politicians, being caught in sexually embarrasing cases and accusations, during that period, which I think Python took this sketch idea from. I always loved the ''we are not here to moralise sir, we just want your money.''.

Thing with Python is that all the scenes flow into the next one, so things that seem random are actually related to something that happens a few scenes before. All the episodes have recurring jokes, and some overlap to later programmes. You're definitely better off binge-watching 😉

Monty Python's 'Dead Parrot Sketch'. You must. It's one of the most iconic sketches British comedy ever produced.
FACT: The show was nearly called 'Owl-Stretching Time' or 'Arthur Megapode's Cheap Show'. Its first episode was broadcast on October 5th 1969.
You might find 'Not the Nine O'Clock News' funny too.

Monty Python helped to change comedy, earlier tv comedy consisted mostly of some bloke standing up telling jokes about his mother in law. Some of it is probably dated and maybe not all that funny now, but you have to consider it in the landscape of what went before I think. Ministry of Funny Walks, Dead Parrot Sketch, Hells Grannies; some good ones, but probably also a lot of meh...

If your looking for more Graham Lineham comedy. I would recommended Count Arthur Strong. A criminally underappreciated comedy series that ran for 3 seasons. Be warned . It very British. Set mostly in a British Café's it follows Count Arthur, a once almost famous retired entertainer who has delusions of grandeur and a very mixed up memory and his ex partners ( who went on to fame and fortune) son who needs Arthur for his book research. The result .. Utter random chaos. You never know where a story is going. From jack the ripper tours from an ice cream truck , to Exorcisms of and agents house doing a parody of Misery, Writing porn books for the over 70's and accidently becoming the maddest Scientologist in England, he just wanted free biscuits.czcams.com/video/Mu5H4YleaWU/video.html
