  • The Roma-Centocelle railway is a narrow gauge on-street railway which connects Laziali (a regional train station some 800 meters (2,625 ft) from Termini's main concourse) with Centocelle to the east. It is notable for using old rolling stock from the 1920s, much of which runs in regular daily service. Enjoy!

You missed the particular merging of tracks between Porta Maggiore and Ponte Casilino, just under Viale Castrense, to squeeze around a building... that's where the two tracks merge into one, but only the inner rails intersect. For 100 meters or less, the two tracks are overlapped and shifted by only 10 cm, and on the sleepers there are two pairs of rails. In this way the two tracks don't need any switches and the two sets of rails remain independent. Street view over Viale Castrense will make you see what I'm talking about

This is such a dinky line and that crossroads at Port Maggiore with the regular trams used to fascinate me no end. The Eastern end of the line has been cut back tremendously since the opening of Metro Line C which replaces that section so it's just a shadow of its former self...

and the line will close in 2023 for work to be transformed into a classic tram

I saw these last year at the exact spot of the first location. I think there was a depot for the green ones nearby, under some highway overpasses.

These trains are from the 1920s, but they were extensively refurbished in the 50s-60s.

5:23 The same validators were once in Moscow. At first, everyone tried to use paper tickets with a magnetic strip. Then it turned out that such tickets do not live for more than a month, especially in winter, begin to demagnetize, stop reading - and switched massively to contactless smart-cards MIFARE Classic. Only after that did the problems with validation disappeared.
