Prices for film cameras are on the rise and especially Leica rangefinder cameras are becoming more and more expensive. Therefore, people are looking for alternatives that don't break the bank. The Yashica Electro 35 is a rangefinder with a fixed 45mm lens and if 50mm is your focal length it could well be a valid alternative to a Leica body.
See you in the next one! :)

Looks like a nice camera, would be nice to see another review with it. Still I guess it is mainly the photographer who makes the picture :-) I like the one with the reflections best. Thanks for sharing
Congratulations, you are the winner of the prints. Can you shoot me a message over on Instagram or through my website? :)
I got the prints and in print the are so much nicer than on CZcams. Also the xpan zine really impressed me. The Berlin shoots in the zine add pretty nicely to your recent videos. Thanks again, two of the prints are already framed and on the wall
i guess Im asking randomly but does any of you know of a way to log back into an instagram account?
I somehow forgot the account password. I appreciate any tricks you can give me
@Mohamed Cristian Instablaster =)
@Tyson Neil I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site on google and I'm trying it out now.
I see it takes a while so I will reply here later with my results.
Thank you for the fun review.
If the battery dies. Set the shutter to the lightning bolt. Now itâs a fixed 1/30 of a second. Use sunny 16 and keep shooting.
I have been shooting with the first generation electro 35 for five years. Never had battery problems.
It is a joy to shoot.
Chris
Wait how does that work? I just got my hands on this as a gift from someone, can you please explain it to me
Great video! Also, Spiderman's camera, and you created a brand new sentence. "The guy was barefoot, but at least he had a smart phone."
Legit here because I bought this camera for cosplay to wear to No Way Home :)
Because of you, I bought one and restored it. Bought it for a little over $20 with electrical problems and didn't have many hoped of using it beyond the 'box speed' but, after finally getting time, and not being willing to throw in the towel, I got it working again :D
5.6 seems like a great sweet spot for street photography. nice mix of bokeh and zone focusing
The photo of the dog has something amazing! Both the dog and the double exposed girl are looking at the viewer.
It's been a pleasure as always đ.
I like the images a lot and I think the Yashica does a great job.
My favorite picture ist the minimalistic shot with the lady. Thanks and I look forward to another video.
Great photos, as always. My favourite is the first one: geometric, yet an aquatic, dynamic feeling to it.
The Electro 35 was my first Rangefinder and my first vintage camera repair when I got back into photography in 2009 or so and I still love it, even after owning many many many other cameras. I know this video is 2 years old, but I'd love to see you shoot this more, especially some BW. I find it really likes XP2 with an orange filter, and I've added a nice silver square lens hood and take it alongside my M240 with 35mm. And I love hearing that Ka-thunk of the pad...very unique.
Great photos as always and keeps getting better. No matter what camera you are using the output is always on point. Thanks for sharing.
I'm enjoying your videos and I've started to dig out my old film cameras for something different to do. Keep up the good work!
Love the way you film your city walks and add the pics as clicks. Really like the collars of this film đđŒ
Both the double exposure images turned out great, but the second is magical. The first shot with the reflections is also excellent. Another fine outing! đ·
The colours you're getting from the Fuji film are just wonderful. Such a lovely organic feel to the photos. I'll have to try a roll in my Canon A-1 next time I'm out shooting street.
I love that you featured the Yashica. I bought Iâve recently and I love shooting with it.
Great images as usual, great rendering from the lens and Fuji Industrial 100 film.
Echt cool alles was du machst! Danke!! Die Bilder sind Hammer!!
Fantastic set of images (and prints). Love the film too. It was really a beautiful day to shoot.
Another nice roll! Good work, Robin
Thanks Hashem! :)
This is such a cool looking camera tbh, I love the little atom logo. The photos are amazing as usual!
Street photographers are always amazing, huge respect! :D
Beautiful work ! Love the images. Just got some Industrial 100 to try, cannot wait. Also that camera is so affordable, great place for folks to start their film journey !
I've been thinking about getting this camera. I'm glad you shot with it. Thanks đ€
Happy I found your channel. Great video and pictures.
Great pictures! It shows that itâs not (only) camera which makes the pictures. Love the one with the reflection
Those images at wide open ( especially the one at 2:04 ) are actually pretty good! Great video as always đđœđ„
Oh yeah ! It was a lucky day, compositions and light are great. You choose the perfect film for this place, you have find the good situations, and chance was clearly with you on this day, cause the no intentional double exposure are absolutely fabulous. Great time for me watching your videos.
Itâs like, everywhere he walks, people just start posing artistically like itâs staged yet so candid. I love it!
Awesome video man! Supah toll!!
Iâm in love with your use of empty space in shots
Love that camera, had one for couple years. Such a joy to use
Great stuff as always.
Berlin, and all the photos... very easy on the eyes. Nicely done.
I picked up an Electro 35 a few months ago. Iâve only put one roll through it but I love it. And that lady laying down photo đ
love the images and your style!
Love these images from this film and they look great as prints! I think the double exposures really worked out!
Another great episode keep up the great work
Nice Collab with Carmencita...both of you are great
surprised at how sharp all the photos looked, nice camera and film. Also the shots from this episode are very satisfying from a composition POV, nice!
Great photo tour in the city. THX
love the picsđ€ž
Just a few days ago I shot Fuji Industrial 100 for the first time, too, and I am really pleased by the colors and the tonality of this film. Fun fact - I bought the film a few months ago in Berlin when I stayed there for a few days. I strolled around the government quarter like you and took a lot of shots there. So, your video is kind of a nice reminder of my summer trip. And as always, very nice shots, Robinđđđ!
Great images! Iâve got an Olympus trip 35 and love the compact fixed lens rangefinder experience!
Great video! The fuji colours really show in this film...soft pastels...I picked up a few rolls of this...keen to try them out!
your photos are inspiring, keep it up
I was just about to buy this camera, coincidence that you posted this just now! Cool phots.
Too good, always very lovely photos. đđž
Nice video, inspires so much
Your images are great to see. I have that camera but havenât actually used it yet so Iâm pleasantly pleased to see itâs capable of delivering some really great results. Take care.
Thank you!
Thanks for this video, decided to purchase my GSN as well, hooray. Love ur prints with those rough borders
Great video! Iâm definitely picking one of your zines.
Sir Robin half man half amazing with any tool the second image just amazing keep it up mate
love this!
Cool camera. Excellent photos as usual Robin, no matter the tool.
Super nice review really enjoyed it đ
Fantastic Shots
I would love to see more with this camera. Film has such character already and various pieces of gear only add to that depth. Another enjoyable video! Regards, Daryl from Portland.
I think these are some of my favourites images I have seen you take in a video
It's my first time watching a video from you. I love your photos! and Berlin seems to be very street photography - friendly hahaha subscribed!! :)
Welcome! :)
I have an electro and havent used it in about 3 years.... im mtivated to take the camera out now. Thanks for creating this and sharing.
Hope Iâm not too late. Either way, loved this vid đ€©.Especially like the people playing the violin and the older gentleman in orange.
Great episode, thank you for sharing :) Now i need to hunt down even more filmstock.
Just picked this camera up the other day. this was the first video I looked at to get some reference photos taken with the camera and it looks amazing! I love that mini double exposure effect you got
Enjoy shooting your new camera!
Thank you for this video. I have this camera and it's been a blast shooting with it. I've been looking for a video where someone was actually using it.
Nice prints. My favourite is also the last double exposure.
Looking good! Just ordered both your zines. Giving myself too many Christmas presents this year đ
My favorite rangefinder to use outside of Leica. It does really nice work with Tri-X and that lens. 1.7 is a bit soft for me but Iâll shoot 2.8 and still get some nice street portraits or whatever.
Great Photos!
Really love the colour of this film đ
Love this one !
10:37 best picture in this ep sir. Amazing moment !
The light was gorgeous this day!!
Awesome shots Robin! I'd gladly hang these on my wall!
Nice pictures with an interesting camera!!
Great stuff, Robin! For a print, I like the minimal one the most (9:25), as a photograph though, I think the double exposure is the best.
Would be fun to see you shooting with a Bessa R2/3/4 in a future video âïž
Yes, more videos about this camera please!
Inspiration, i like to watch your videosđđđđ
I was thinking of getting in camera, this video made me go for it!
Nice review of the Yashica Electro 35, I have two of them which I still use from time to time, a great camera capable of beautiful results.
Der minimalistische Shot ist super. đ
Looking at your latest videos I realise I miss Berlin
Great clear pictures well focused, color and light balance. This type of Yashica Electro 35 had great reputation and was compared with great cameras in its time. Also it's a great film camera for street photography because it is quite.
Every time I'm looking at picture results, I'm impressed. Of course, with a real photographer, it's a bonus. đ
this film colors are so awesome! :)
The first print is my favorite. It's very interesting!
11:30 - Quite an interesting shot, seeing as the shadow of the pillar looks to be going to the left, but the shadow of the couple goes to the right. Some lucky optical shadow trickery there :)
Really nice camera! I buy GSN week ago and you video was very helpful for me, because I never shoot on film cameras before.
Iâve had a couple of these cameras. They helped cement my love for rangefinders. The first worked great and I loved it so much, but then it died unexpectedly. I tried to get it fixed, but it wasnât repairable.. the second worked ok, but never really felt the same, so I saved a little while and got a Leica to replace it. I really miss the Yashicaâs lens though.
Also..there sure seems to be a lot of people out shooting where you are in this video.
I'm tempted to buy a film rangefinder, will take a look at this Yashica. Nice video!
love that cam
Great video! Itâs a cool camera, very affordable and that lens is really sharp. It would be awesome to see the electro 35 at night!
Nice photos â€ïž.
Very nice camera, was going to get the Yashica too, but then bought a Contax G. Beautiful pictures, great.
The last photo is truly a great moment. When I saw the video of you about to snap the shot, and the couple started kissing I went "wow it got even better!"
I really like the colors of Fuji Industrial 100. Fun fact: this camera was used in the film The Amazing Spiderman by Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield). After the movie came out, the camera and even the same strap were highly sought after but luckily prizes never got as high as the Yashica T4 prizes.
Good video and images too
Hello from New Zealand. One of my favourite films to shoot street photography with. Wish I had bought a lot more of it when I was in Japan last year.
Interesting camera. I got me a relatively cheap rangefinder yesterday, the Revue 400 SE, and I can't wait to shoot it. :)
Love the video, love Yashica Electro 35 GSN, I'm proud owner of one exsample đ
Lens is beautiful and exposure system is great.
I would like to see more videos featuring this camera.
Thank you đ
Sometimes I use two zip ties to make a DIY focusing tab. I also fiddle with the iso dial a lot for exposure compensation when I'm using mine. :) It was my first rangefinder and would probably be my "one" camera if I had to choose one.
nice idea....
Great result even with the double exposure !!
