Introducing the Purosangue, the DBX707 and the Bentayga S - three of 2023’s finest super SUVs. Which one is best? CAR magazine’s James Dennison and Ben Barry find out.

Well, we have to also consider it's the least "SUV" like as well. In fact, I cannot imagine how it actually qualifies as an SUV. It's like a very slightly lifted vehicle that lacks nearly every attribute that makes and SUV an SUV. It's an SV without the U. lol If I'm going to compromise that much on a vehicle, why not just get a proper Ferrari, and snag another vehicle to handle the utility? A nice Range Rover perhaps? It'll be far, far, far more useful, and it's a fraction of the Ferrari's cost. I suppose that might be an unpopular take to some, but I don't see the point of this vehicle, despite it being pretty cool all things considered. At least the Bentley still has the attributes of an actual SUV and the Aston is kind of "in the middle".

Had a chance to experience the DBX 707 from the passenger seat a few months back and it’s absolutely riotous on a long stretch of road, and certainly strong in the bends (and it sound incredible). That being said, there were a few quality issues that I noticed just from a glance around the cabin and some basic pinching/pushing which I suspect would be absent in the Bentley.

My real question is why don't suv's use air or hydraulic lift/drop to lower ride height for most driving and lift when you want? Could make them feel way more sporty and then lift when you need clearance. Yes, it would be expensive to do, but you'd gain mpg, handling and make it much easier to get in/out. Ferrari has that ability, but doesn't go that low. Trucks, same thing. Can get the clearance when offroad when needed.
