Magazine is amazing. Bands like the sparks and bands like the fall and then the smiths were bands that to me had something intelligent to say and deep. Like peter Gabriel's earlier work. It was good having bands that gave you more than the 4 chords and angst.
Dont get me wrong the Buzzcocks were brilliant. And when you were in the mood for that energy , it was great. So yeah something for everyone.

GOOD EARS 'Metal Machine' soul brother! It's been 10?15? YEARS since I could readily hear some short blats of sound from of my ancient vinyl copy of that record. It's those Brits and their fearlessly-eclectic musical taste and vocabulary, their encyclopedic musical knowledge and their Devil-may-care ''take it or leave it''' attitude about who may like it and who may not.
