Elden Ring[a] is an action role-playing game developed by FromSoftware and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. The game was directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki and made in collaboration with fantasy novelist George R. R. Martin, who provided material for the game's setting. It was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on February 25, 2022.
Elden Ring is presented through a third-person perspective, with players freely roaming its interactive open world. Gameplay elements include combat, featuring several types of weapons and magic spells, horseback riding, summons, and crafting. Elden Ring received critical acclaim, with praise for its open world gameplay. The game sold 12 million copies worldwide within three weeks of its release.
Elden Ring is an action role-playing game played in a third-person perspective with gameplay focusing on combat and exploration; it features elements similar to those found in other games developed by FromSoftware, such as the Souls series, Bloodborne, and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. Director Hidetaka Miyazaki explained that players start with a linear opening but eventually progress to freely explore the Lands Between, including its six main areas, as well as castles, fortresses, and catacombs scattered throughout the open world map. These main areas are interconnected through a central hub that players can access later in the game's progression-similar to Firelink Shrine from Dark Souls-and are explorable using the character's mount as the main mode of transport, although a fast travel system is an available option. Throughout the game, players encounter non-player characters (NPCs) and enemies alike, including the demigods who rule each main area and serve as the game's main bosses.
Combat in Elden Ring relies heavily on character-building elements found in previous Souls games and related intellectual properties, such as calculated and close-ranged melee-based combat with the use of skills, magic abilities, as well as blocking and dodging mechanics. Elden Ring introduces mounted combat and a stealth system, the latter being a core gameplay element from Sekiro; these features are expected to encourage players in strategizing their combat approach with each unique enemy they encounter. The game makes use of a player character stamina bar after being absent from Sekiro, although its overall influence over combat was reduced compared to previous FromSoftware games that utilized it. Unlike in Sekiro, resurrection mechanics after in-game death are not available; however, some elements were added to ensure players' progression within the game

Thank you very much! I've been looking for this kind of video for ages: a super-condensed video of Elden Ring showing the main dungeons. There are plenty of long ones, plenty of fun let's plays from beginners, and some good walkthroughs with commentary, but this one is exactly what I needed.

I have a genuine question for fans of FromSoftware games. i have never been interested in FS games but ever since Elden Ring got released my interest in them has grown considerably. I keep watching gameplay videos and I have read about the lore and absolutely fell in love with Elden Ring.
I consider myself average good at playing videogames (mostly jrpgs like Dragon Quest or Tales Of) or platform games.
Question is: If i were to start playing From Software videogames, which one do you recommend me to start with?
This game of course, this game can be challenging and beginner friendly at the same time. Because you can play this game however you want. Like not fighting any bosses at early game and focussing on explore to find better equipment, grinding against weaker enemies, or skipping them altogether (well not all of them but most of them). freedom was the main focus of this game
Not elden ring. Just bought it and it's so hard I'm lost wandering across the map and fighting some overpowered boss I'm not supposed to fight with my little bit of life.. to make it short I'm going nowhere, just dying everywhere and not understanding a single thing
I would recomend you go with elden ring. This game is the pinnacle of FS games. I have played all the games and I really feel like Elden Ring has an easier start. Dark souls games are really hard from the beginning but here you have a ton of things to do to get stronger and get better in the game. Anyway, I would recomend you to play Dark Souls 1 and Dark Souls 3 anytime

I would recommend all of the following, Dark Souls 3, Bloodborne (30fps tho), Sekiro but if you want one to start with start with Demons Souls on PS5 since it’s the original Souls game and one of the best to play next gen other than Elden Ring. Definitely start with either Elden Ring and Demons Souls.

Equipment is more important than your level, make sure you're levelling up your weapons properly. But if you want more runes just help other people kill bosses in co-op for a while

definitely Gow the graphics are so much better. And the physics are even crazier it just looks and feel more real. Also I like all of the side missions in GOW more

It sounds like you've never played a From Software game and have only watched CZcams videos of such. It's all about the gameplay and combat mechanics. You can't appreciate how awesome these games are until you actually play them. On the other hand, if you're more of a spray and pray call of duty zombie killer type player you probably won't enjoy it. Some people like games that hold your hand all the way through, some people like first person shooters where you just run around like a chicken with your head cut off and spray bullets everywhere. If that's your type of game, just sell your PS and get an Xbox.

Elden ring or demon souls remastered for frist game?
Demon's Souls is linear and Er is open world. I would start with Elden Ring as Demon's Souls can be pretty challenging.
I would play this game with that character, but I just can't with the standard loadouts.
